This sucks but at least you had the chance to study it at school and now you can do the best you can on your own you already have the basics so it shouldn't be that hard .. :P

hahah well then good luck with that freaky manager just try to stay calm :P

Yeeyyy good for the free time and watching/reading manga/anime but damn you have friends from all over it's really good but it sucks that almost none of them lives close to you.. But Florida Yeye I wanna go there too someday .. damn I wanna go to a lot of places .. :)

Uhh I hate English dub it sucks so much and not only for animes but doesn't matter when I watch something it doesn't matter what the language they speak in is as long it's the original one .. it sounds so much better and for animes the dub is so awful I have eng dub so much .. Mm For FAB I think it was 64 episodes and really interesting and so damn funny :P you'll like it a lot :P haha I might try to watch it again then :p

ohh no school but when it's that hot you can't go outside because you might die and staying at home with no air conditioner ain't goo either because it's as twice as hot then outside hate hate hateee ..

hahah the show was pretty fun I liked it a lot too :P
Oh I have watched it it was one of my first Kdramas and I love it I re-watched it 3 times afterwards it was awesomeee :P and Hongki Kawaiiiiii :P:P:P:P
hahah ohh I think she will they are hilarious in that show it's just so funy ..

yes they are a lot of episodes and so far they are around 25-30 minuter but I dunno they might get longer after the 50-th episde ..
Ohh thank you so much I doubt I'll watch the shows very soon because I have so many things to watch and read beforehand but I'll watch 'em for sure and damn it's good that there are groups subbing the Arashi's shows :P :D

um I got 'B' on my English exam today and 'C' for my Spanish exam and I have 3-4 exams more to go and in two weeks I am free for summer and I'll watch so muchhh and read so muchh :P

They were both studying in the university of Kanazawa. Probably most of the exchange students in Japan that you knew also had to return to their home country? And I can definitely understand that your mother also wanted you to come home, since it's hard to know how the situation there exactly is, and she was probably really worried about you. It's really sad that that earthquake had to happen... But the good thing is that you can always go back to Japan, even if it's just to travel instead of studying ^^

Oh, audio files are really helpful, I learn a language easier too by listening to it instead of reading and memorizing lists of words (but I can imagine that that is necessary in order to learn all the kanji =P). And it's good that you have your own 'personal teachers' in case you don't understand something =)

200 kanji, that already sounds like an awful lot to me! But like you say, it's certainly doable if you study 300 more kanji =) It definitely sounds like a great idea! Yokohama must be a nice place to study ^^ And quite close to Tokyo (or at least that's what my Google Maps tells me XD), so you could go there a lot! And would you be able to study and work at the same time? Because I know some people at my university who do that too, but they say it's very hard to keep up with both...

We are obliged to choose two languages, we can't just pick either Swedish or English. But from the third year onward, you have to take more credits for one of the two languages, and that's also the language you have to write your research paper in. And next year I will also be taking Finnish (because I study Swedish, I have to study another language, and I can choose either Danish, Norwegian or Finnish ^^ And Finnish appeals to me the most of those three ^^). That sounds like a hard combination that your roommate has! I certainly wouldn't be able to do that! Thank you, I'm already thinking of a topic for my paper, but so far I haven't got a clue XD Wow, to write a paper in Japanese is really scary indeed =O Haha, here it's the same, you decide your topic at the beginning of the school year and submit it at the end of the year XD

Yeah, a research paper might be the easiest way indeed! Haha, but a German History professor? That doesn't sound like it has anything to do with Japanese History, though =P But it's really nice of him that he wants to help you out ^^
Oh, I see. Here we have to take 60 credits a year (it's the same in all Belgian universities), and in my case all of my subjects were 5 credits a subject (so I had 12 subjects a year, 6 in the first and 6 in the second semester). As far as I know it's the same in whole Europe, which is easy for my exchange program, that way I don't have to change too many things.

Here in Belgium almost everyone goes to festivals in the summer instead of concerts, there are not that many concerts of artists here, but instead a lot of festivals are organized, and then they invite a lot of artists at the same time (the most famous one around here is Rock Werchter, tons of people go to that festival, it's mainly just one overcrowded field with some stages where artists perform XD) It's really cool that you can go to a lot of concerts where you live =)

It's definitely getting known here, about a month ago I was sitting in the computer room and when I passed someone I noticed on his screen that he was watching the music video of one of the songs of 2NE1 XD Quite a few of my friends know it, it was through one of my friends that I got to know it too =P There was even a K-Pop song on the radio once! I didn't hear it myself, but I heard from other people that SNSD's 'Mr. Taxi' had been played on one of our Belgian radio stations =P
Ooh, a YG world tour would be awesome! I'd definitely go and see that!
Haha, I really think they are realizing now that world tours are absolutely necessary to satisfy the fans' needs all over the world! =P

I got my acceptance letter today, and I was almost crying from happiness when I read it! It's really official now! Aah, the paperwork was really annoying, but I'm sure that it's worth it =P I had been warned by someone who had gone to study abroad to Italy three years ago that it was literally a pile of papers that had to be filled in, but until I actually had to do it I had never thought it would be so hard XD I applied for a room in an apartment, so I would have a room for myself, but share the bathroom and kitchen with 4 or 5 other people ^^ Oh yes, I'm going to take my camera with me everywhere I go! I plan to take tons of pictures! I took a look at your pictures from Japan, and it really looks like you had so much fun!

Mm noo I still have some exams they start from this Monday so around the middle of next month I'll be finally free .. :) Yey congrats I am happy for you :)Mm it would be so good if you could study it in school I wanna study it too :P

Looo congrats for getting a job good for you .. omg why don't they fire her I mean toy yell in front of costumers is unthinkable it's rude and so not the place .. good luck with it .. It's good if you have free time because you'll be able to watch animes mangas tv shows and go out with friends etc. right? I wanna buy those too but Bleach only and maybe D.Gray-man, I have watched FAB it was really good and I have watched Eden of the East but I don't think I watched all episodes it seemed a little strange A naked guy with no memory and a foolish girl sounded strange but really is it good If it is I might watch it :P

hahaha I dnon't like summer it is way too hot .. loo it's the same here I hate it and btw the weather is weird everywhere .. here it's the same it can rain at one moment and the next it's so hot and sunny .. hate ittt ..

hahaah Yep it is hilarious although I still haven;t finished it I am still at episode 5 I thiink .. I have to watch it after my exams are over and i'll start from ep oneee :P
Noo I stil haven't finished Cartoon KAT-TUN but the bad thin is that I have till the 50-th episode and they are 145 I think .. and I want to watch Arashi's shows they looked so funny but most of the videos are on veoh and veoh doesn't work in Bulgaria so I can't watch them .. and I found so many Japanese and Korean shows I wanted to watchh .. stupid veoh .. ohh I envy you so much I want one of those too I have only 260GB to download and I want more because that is so not enough .. hahaah Yu-Gi-Oh is funny but it is way too how to say it for younger audience .. I finished InuYasha and I now I have to watch InuYasha final act and I'll be finished with that I really liked it :)

ohh nothing new or exciting I have been studying a lot these past two week for my English exam and I am almost finished .. not exactly but I have to be by tomorrow night and I'll have two more exams except the one in Monday and I hope I'll be finished with all that by the 6-th next month and finally have the time for animes and mangas and to relax .. :)

Well, two of my friends study Japanese, and they had gone to Japan to study there for a year, and their school made them come back earlier too. I think it's really good that they take precautions like that. It's a pity that you and those other people couldn't complete their time in Japan, but on the other hand it's better to be able to leave the country when you can; if there really would have been major problems with the nuclear reactors, then it would probably have been very hard to leave Japan... I hope you can go back when the situation is better there! And you'll be able to amaze everyone you know there with all the Japanese that you'll have taught yourself =D

Oh, it's good that you have some textbooks that you can use to teach yourself! It will probably be harder to learn it all on your own, but if it's explained well in the books then you should be able to learn at least some of the things in there =)

Still three years before I graduate in English-Swedish, but if I can still specialize in economy or something else if I study another year, but I don't plan to do so =P I like it when there are no exams, because then I start hating all those courses, but once those exams are over I'm really happy with what I've learnt =D I have to choose a "major" language and a "minor" language next year, and I think I'll take Swedish, because my English is better than my Swedish and I need to practice my Swedish more =P But I'll see, after all I'll have to write my research paper on that language, and I'm not sure that if I really want to do that in Swedish XD

Aah, that sounds like a lot of work to solve that... Well, if you can replace certain courses you were taking in Japan, then the problem is not that big, it's really good that you found a professor that can help you with your Japanese subjects! And writing a paper is also a good solution ^^ Hmm, it's hard to just replace Japanese History with just any subject, since it's so specific... Maybe you'll also have to write a paper then? If there is really no other way to solving it... But hopefully you'll have all your credits back by the end of the school year =) Would you have the same system as here in Europe then? That you have to complete 60 credits a year to be a full-time student? Because it sounds familiar, with all the credits ^^

That's so cool, I didn't know the music video was filmed in Las Vegas! It was an amazing setting, though, so they chose well =P I know, too bad K-Pop and J-Pop groups never do world tours, or if they do they only visit one place per continent and then go back to Asia... I'm always looking for concerts nearby, but except for SM Town there's never been any... I didn't even know that Gackt was touring Europe! I must have missed that somehow! I just checked the tour dates, he's not coming to Belgium, but he's apparently visiting The Netherlands... Unfortunately I have to work that day... And probably the concert is sold out as well =P But I'm looking forward to seeing some concerts in Finland of my Scandinavian favourite bands =P That also makes me happy ^^

Yeah, it would have been perfect if they had come a month earlier, when I didn't have any exams and when I had loads of free time XD But I've learnt to live with the fact that they'll probably come again (and hopefully on a more convenient date this time...). In the end I'm happy I took the exam in the end, since I (hopefully!) won't have to re-take it now =D
Oh, Illinois, that's quite far to travel to LA indeed =P But you never know, maybe they'll decide to do a REAL world tour next time, and not just LA and Paris XD I think they're finally starting to realize that there are also fans outside of Asia XD The concert for SM Town in Paris was sold out in less than 10 minutes, I think that says enough =D

Oh, I forgot if I had told you that I was going or not, but you know now ^^ I'm leaving in the first week of September, and I'll stay there until February (so it's one semester). I'm so excited for it! I've been filling out forms since February, and now I'm waiting for a confirmation from Helsinki University for an acceptance letter ^^ And I'll know about my housing in the beginning of July, I hope I can get a room from the University, but if I don't then I'll have to look for one myself... Haha, I know what you mean, I'm talking about it all the time and it drives people nuts XD But I'm so excited that I don't care XD I'm planning to keep a blog, so that I can read it again later and remember all the fun moments ^^ I'll let you know when I'll have made it! Yep, I have facebook, the link (I hope I gave the right one =P) is http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/profile.php?id=759475150 ^^ You can add me if you want =)

Hi! I'm happy to hear from you! I heard from Gabriela that you had put on your facebook that everything was okay, and it was good to hear that! It's sad indeed that you had to leave Japan, but it's good that you got to do and see a lot during the time you were there, and I'm sure you will treasure those memories forever ^^ I think it's possible to teach yourself Japanese if you already have a basis, which you have, so maybe through internet courses or with books you will be able to learn more =) Ah, graduating is still so far away for me, so I prefer not to think about it actually XD I still have three years to go from here on... So I still have some time to decide where I want to work and what work I want to do ^^ But I wonder, what about the subjects you were taking in Japan? How will you get grades for those? Do you just have to choose other subjects in your home university instead? (haha, sorry for all the questions =P)

Oh, Hello Baby is great! I watched it during the time that it was still airing in Korea, so I had to wait for episodes every time XD But it was so funny, I enjoyed it very much!
Yes, I've heard it, and my favourite songs from that album are definitely Tonight and Stupid Liar! And the music video for Tonight is so great, it's so simple yet so artistic!
Wow, it must have been great to go to that concert, or even just see Big Bang like your friends did! Well, a few days ago SM Town came to Paris (which is not too far from where I live), so Super Junior, SNSD, SHINee, DBSK and f(x) were there. Unfortunately I was in the middle of exams (the concert was on the 10th and I had an exam on the 11th in the morning...) and it was rather expensive to go, so I couldn't go see them... Really, if I wasn't going to study abroad next year (I need to pass all my exams for that), I would've probably said "screw the exam, I'll re-take it in August", but now I won't risk not going to Finland... But I've heard from people I know that could go that it was awesome! Hopefully they'll come again next year =) I know that they've been to L.A. last year as well, I don't know if that's close to where you live, but they'll probably go there again too =)

Hey! Long time no talk right? How's your time at Elmhurst going? Guess what! I'm going to be back in the states around the 3/4th of May! I get to see everyone before they all leave for the summer!

Ireland's beautiful. I'm sad to leave now that spring has come around. Ireland should definitely be visited in the summer months! I have less than a week left in Dublin, and then for the next two weeks, I'll be traveling around with Drew to visit other European cities.

I can't wait to come home and tell you guys all about it!

It does resemble my dream for the future indeed, only in your case it's Japan and in my case it's Scandinavia =) I'm sure all the time you spent in Japan will help you to be really fluent in Japanese ^^ I hope that in the time I'll be in Finland I'll be able to learn some Finnish as well, it's a really hard language to learn, and it doesn't sound anything like English or Swedish, but I think it's a beautiful language as well, and I'm willing to work a lot to learn it ^^
I think you're right when you say that it's easier to translate from Japanese to English. You always know the grammar and the conventions of your own native language better than those of a foreign language, so it's a lot easier to translate from a foreign language to your own language.

Anime has learnt me those little casual phrases, so it definitely helps!! I pay more and more attention to how they speak, and yesterday when I was watching some anime, I noticed a Japanese wordplay without needing a translator's note or something! Heh, but I don't think that will happen anytime soon again, though =P
That's great! Now you learn the polite way to speak in school and the casual way to speak through anime and drama's and so on!! In Japan you probably have to be quite careful with what you say, right? With all those different registers and suffixes that they add to names?

I think there would definitely be a market for manga and anime and drama's! If you look at the number of American people here on MAL, I'd say there are a lot of people interested in it ^^ And more and more people start to show an interest in Japan and Korea, so I definitely think it would sell good =)

SS501 is really great, I love their music and their image ^^
Yes, you're right that there is a band called 2AM. There used to be one group, called One Day, and that was 2AM and 2PM combined. But then they split up into two subgroups, 2PM focusing more on dance and K-Pop, while 2AM sings ballads ^^
No problem, you're welcome!!
gAbCh17Yy Feb 20, 2011 3:02 AM
Lol that's a lot of shows I'm still watching Hello Baby and Cartoon Kat-tun and I'm in the middle of the first episode of Arashi no Shiyagare :P :D

Uu that anime is already on my list, I just found it and now I'm downloading it :P :D

Uhh I have watched so many dramas and I'm not going to my part time job anymore so I'll have more time for my laptop :P :D

Uhh I uploaded some of my dramas on disks and I have so much more that need to be uploaded on disks :P :D

Nope I haven't at least for that exam I don't have anything that I can study from so .. Umm thankssssssssss :P :D
It’s time to ditch the text file.
