This anime is a relaxing historical, slice of life romance. It's historical because you'll see how gentry society worked in the old England. The plot is easy to follow. It's about two people from vastly different social classes fall in love with one another, but this kind of romance is forbidden in a wealthy society. What I liked the most is the slow pace of the story. In a slow paced romance, you'll see the how the characters develop, and this series invests you in every single one of the characters. It's great watching the characters change throughout the story while dealing with their feelings ...

Berserk (Manga) add
Preliminary (355/? chp)
This anime basically introduces you to one of the greatest stories ever told, but the end is unfulfilling because it's completely different from the manga. Once your done with the anime I'd suggest starting the manga from chapter 1 or the prototype (Chp 00) because while the anime did cover many of the main points early on, It left out a lot of important stuff and other important characters that are in the beginning of the manga. It's probably best to read in order to know where these characters come in rather than read ahead and be confused as shit. Plus you'll miss lot of ...

Pale Cocoon (Anime) add
Pale Cocoon is a one-off OVA that was directed and written by Yasuhiro Yoshiura. Clocking in at around twenty three minutes, Pale Cocoon resembles a classic scifi short story: Short, sweet, with a nice punch. The setting is a post-apocalyptic future where people are excavating archives about the past world and their decaying life support equipment has forced them to retreat deeper into the massive amount of construction covering the surface of the planet. Since it's so short, it's difficult to say much more without major spoilers. The art style is engaging, the character development is solid, and the pacing is spot on.

Also, the user ...

Spoiler
This prequel is awesome but you don't have to watch it. The main series does a good enough job of explaining the history of the universe and each character. You can definitely watch My Conquest Is the Sea of Stars and go straight into the main series or watch a history lesson on 40 the 56. As someone who watched it in that order, I can say I was able to appreciate this prequel more because I've already seen the main series. Its given me more screen time and understanding about the characters I've grown to know and love. Now that I've seen this just ...

Outlaw Star is probably one of my favorite series of all time. It has a great mixture of comedy, drama, has great character development, an amazing story, and it keeps your attention. The final arch is great and beautifully drawn, the opening theme is an epically bad 90s rock song full of guitar solos, hot sassy girls who kick-ass makeup most of the main cast, the ships computer is amazing, the main character is a creep with a heart of gold, his sidekick is a spunky 12-year old genius. It follows every good anime stereotype in an amazing manner. Do you want a spunky cat ...

There about 4 seasons, there all good. This show itself gives off a feeling quite like no other. It has a laid back pacing, a likable and kind MC, beautiful animation, and great music. It's a series of personal growth, of learning to trust others, and realizing that one does not have to be alone their entire lives. Takashi starts off as a lonely, withdrawn boy due to the emotional and physical abuse he suffered as a child. However, as he meets various people and spirits, he gradually begins to open up, learns to trust, and even reaches out on his own accord to help ...

Michiko to Hatchin is really good show. I've heard that the show was inspired by a trip Yamamoto and her girlfriends took to Brazil after she went through a breakup, and it's very obvious. Most of the men in this universe are shitty people, but the most meaningful and special relationships the characters form are those between women and girls. And as a 20-something year old woman, I watch my pals bounce around from crappy boyfriend to crappy boyfriend only to ultimately come back to the support network of their female friends. That's not to say that all romantic relationships are bad or that everyone ...

Definitely one of the most emotionally draining mangas I have ever read, but I feel like it had as much personal meaning and philosophical depth as any novel. Also, the background art is incredible. The attention to detail is nothing short of breathtaking and if you can pull your mind away from the story and just look at the scenery, It's a picture perfect portrayal of dealing with apathy, heartbreak, depression, misanthropic and nihilistic thoughts, distrust, and so much more. This is one of the best coming-of-age stories. I really disagree with the typical consensus that "it's a 'depressing' manga that you should definitely not ...
