Hey I noticed you like the 3 big iyahshi-kei (not sure I spelled that right) works: Mushishi, Aria, Yokohama. I'm reading Yokohama now at a pace of about 1-2 chapters per night before bed. Do you generally watch before bed or in the morning? I find that with these shows they really demand that you're in a calm state so I prefer to watch them at night.
Maybe I was a bit too hyped during my first "Requiem EP" listenings because Daisuke and WEG have made one release. But you're right they have done better music. I'm happy Daisuke is making more "Re:" album(s) and I'm excited for "Re:RED" too. I had my problems with "Program Music II" too. It is a very good standalone Daisuke release but it is bad as a sequel. I really didn't understand why there where so many tracks in this album and the longest one had only a duration of 14 minutes. While both tracks in "Program Music I" had a minimum duration of 25 minutes. Daisuke should have changed the name to "Program Music II: Interlude" and just waiting for the reception and reviews and then maybe make the next real big followup to "Program Music I".
I need more to listen to Go-Qualia's albums. Thank you for the rec. of "Puella Magi", I'll check it out.
That's funny, so you love the more ambient/post-rock "Palmless Prayer/ Mass Murder Refrain" too. It's my second favorite album right after "Program Music I". "Palmless Prayer" has so much beauty in it although it's a more difficult listen. But I love almost everything which is sometimes disturbing or a bit difficult to listen to and which is beautiful and atmospheric at the same time. Godspeed and Tim Hecker made some great albums with gloomy, intensive atmospheres too. While GY!BE's music is more post-rock, ambient (Lift Yr. Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven!, F♯A♯∞), Tim Hecker's is more drone, ambient (Virgins, Harmony in Ultraviolet, Radio Amor).
Often the manga is better than the anime, so I can understand you.
Hi, I see you love Kashiwa Daisuke's and Katsuhiko Maeda's works. Which I really do too. Did you hear the new "Requiem EP" by them recently released at Virgin Babylon Records. https://virginbabylonrecords.bandcamp.com/album/requiem-ep
Would like to hear what you think about it because I like some of your favs too (realised again I really need to watch Aria). I for myself really can't stop listening to it especially WEG's Requiem version.
A Daisuke & WEG collaboration album would be amazing, wouldn't it?
What do you think..
