I never made it to the end of Texhnolyze. Think I got halfway. Maybe I was too young at the time: I recall it being confusing and different from other anime I had watched in tone and not spelling things out. It has been many years, though. What were your overall thoughts on it?

I used to find myself listening to my Wolf's Rain MP3s a lot, when I had a ton of anime soundtracks on my old computer. Strangers and Heaven's Not Enough to mong to; Shiro: Long Tails and Friends to be more depressed by. Cloud 9's nice as well; one of the more upbeat tracks. It's up there with Kanno's best work and probably my favourite out of what she's done.

You just know, one day, MAL is going to either remove tags due to people abusing them or the site will vanish; taking all of them with it. A futile, wasted effort - esp when 1000 anime are bad enough to scroll through as is - but at this point I can't stop. Glad I gave you some inspiration, and equally glad you didn't feel compelled to keep doing it!

I appreciated the fact you took the time to send a message of support, after seeing I'd found a new friend. I knew not I had followers other than the... sckmycck variety but now I now. And there was me thinking I was dedicating my heart & soul, Erwin-style, to list tagging for no reason.

Don't worry, btw: full capslock internet msgs won't make me suicide. Maybe if it was a person irl after a bad experience but never some random twat on 'ere. You get used to the depravity of the internet after enough years. He who looks into the abyss, and all that jazz.

On an unrelated note, I like your ratings. We differ a lot yet we seem to like the same range/types of anime, by and large. That and Mikasa.

PS: If you hated Wolf's Rain that much (how come, btw? final 4 eps aside. Kanno's music alone moved my numbers up), btw, it's even more worth your time to watch the OVA finish. Trust me on this. You'll either get intense satisfaction via hatred or cry. Either works. Maybe.

First of all, thanks for the compliment, I try my best :).

As for reviews, the main reason would probably that I tend to overthink things in general. That's also why I already considered and then discarded the idea of trying myself at reviews multiple times ^^.
It would end up being way too convoluted because I wouldn't know whether to address it to newcomers, seasoned fans, fans of the genre etc... I don't think too highly of the method to divide the review into single categories or use other methods of 'quantification', so I feel all I can offer is to thoroughly explain my impression and which factors led to them and why I personally react positive or negative to them, so the usefulness depends on whether or not the reader has similar taste to me or at least knows me quite well (friends etc...). I don't think I could just shake this off and imagine me being this roundabout in every review... That paragraph just now should be the best proof that I'm not cut-out for reviews xD. As I said, overthinking is my thing.

Along the same lines I'm not a huge fan of reading reviews myself, because I can't just trust anyones judgment if I don't know him or her better. I pick series mostly by intuition and only the opinion of someone I trust could overrule that.

Ha,ha. Thnx. The thing that really annoys me the most, is that people on mal don't realise that the masses don't like anime with mostly talking and complicated stories. Take dbz for eg. The characters are not that deep the story isn't complicated, but what it does good is the action, and that's what the masses are more interested in.

Attack on titan appeals to the masses because it has action, a simple straight forward story,with mystery in it, and a decent cast. You'll always see people posting that logh and Mushishi deserve more recognition, but if you look at the story for both those series, they're so unappealing to the masses.

You're one of the most humble/intelligent person on mal. And I'm not saying this because you like attack on titan. You're calm and you think before you make a comment. I've never seen you out right bash a series or have a argument that developed into something much worse. You're cool and also mature. Just felt like writing you this comment.

I personally can't say the same for myself. lol The cool and calm person type I mean. XD
