I got real mixed feeling about this manga. It's good. I like it. But I don't know if it's just my own preference, or it just really is hard to relate to a non-human character or the fact that the villains posed aren't really that unlikable. hate the Rangers because they are still portrayed as somewhat anti-hero-ish instead of downright villainous.
Only one of the Ranger is downright villainous but you don't see him being evil all that much either unlike Homelander.
A twist might be coming, but I sure hope it comes soon because I am not fully down rooting for the MC.
There was actually a Ranger with a scar I liked more than the main character because he actually feels like a better version of the main character, a true anti-hero in a way with his backstory. But ironically, the narrative is wanting to see the underdog pawn villain win because the heroes always win instead of the villain.
Well, the tables turn, this manga stars the underdog villain. So it felt like from the start this particular anti-hero Ranger was the underdog because he was bound to lose no matter how powerful he seemed.
So real mixed feeling about this because it's still an engaging story and world. There is still a lot of mystery in this world, so I will be looking forward to see how things unravel.
Also a sidenote about the art, it's pretty good, in fact, I always thought his previous manga's art was too good for just a romance manga. Some of the weapon designs are nice.

If you have watched Darling in the Franxx, there will be a familiar feeling when you're looking at Lucy. This is no doubt Zero-Two in Night City, hell, even the same eyeliner or whatever hell that is on their eyes.
This story is definitely emotional and hit all the right spots, gives you a relatable MC with a relatable backstory, easy to sympathize, and easily an everyman. But by episode 6, it's hard to really get a grip on what exactly it is the MC wants. Maybe he doesn't know either but the story already shows him fitting into the crew easily, so why would

he hesitate when the guy tells him he should go back to the Academy? He hung up so many times on the Principal before when he contacted him, so why the sudden hesitation after he's in this deep?
So what exactly does David Martinez want? Why did he get so many implants when he understood the potential consequences of his actions? Before the end of the show, it's implied that he's already rich because he lives in a penthouse. So why is he still running these jobs? He saw his leader went cyberpsycho, so why did he get more implants? It doesn't show he needed these implants either or something bad's gonna happen.
He's running things fine as he already was, in fact, the implants were shown to be hindering him as the show goes on, his doctor tells him to lay off of it but he continues his self-destruction because...we return to the same question, what exactly does David Martinez want?
Why didn't Lucy tell David he's being targeted? Why did she do this knowing it will distant him from her? The guy clearly can handle himself. This feels like the typical contrived plot point. Why didn't they go to the Moon the moment they got rich? What does he want? What is his motivation?
It reveals to protect Lucy at the end, but we never see her being relentlessly pursued so why would he keep getting implants to destroy himself, can't keep her safe if he destroys himself? If it shows Lucy being hunted, David having to do jobs to keep her safe for round-the-clock security, then it will make sense but that's not what's happening.
In the end she still went to the Moon alone, so why didn't they went earlier? Also why didn't Arasaka just straight up contact David instead of going through the weird school route? Just promise him a job straight away? He's running gigs, isn't he? Just tell him to run this gig. Why get him into this destructive machine by trickery and potentially fuck yourself up when he finds out?
There are a lot of questions that isn't answered but the story still hits the right spot which is why I recommend it. But if you really just look at some elements of the plot critically, you would realize there are some things that simply doesn't add up.
The animation is weird, the artstyle isn't complex, but they really conserve every moment, some frames can last up to 10 seconds, they do panning shots so much it feels like a 90's anime except the artstyle is nowhere as complex as 90's anime.
Nevertheless, I acknowledge a good story can still have plot holes but still satisfy audiences regardless. I think this is something Ih have come to understand, a story can follow zero rules of fundamental storytelling but if people emotional over the story, it's a good story.

This story is hard to describe, at first it feels a little like a western then Game of Thrones, but by chapter 109 it came into something of it's own, I can see it forming into something that could be better.
Something peculiar is it's use of metaphorical art which lead me to believe there is fantasy in this. But it is purely a historical fiction with Kings being likened to dragons and wolves, cannibals to monsters.
It's hard to recommend as it doesn't focus on one character but multiple characters. It's more of an ensemble cast, and it really does focus heavily on

the ensemble aspect more than every other manga I have read.
The political situations are also very complex and there are a lot of names that might be hard for you to remember.
Another reason it's hard to recommend, is from everything I have read so far however, it feels like I have only read the prologue (a solid read nonetheless) .
As only so far, we are just now getting into our first main character's backstory after little glimpses even when we pretty much got a rundown of every other characters that were introduced after him even the supposed villains.
It's pretty hard to get invested in Dao Ma as you would to Miyamoto Musashi from Vagabond, Thorfinn from Vinlanda Saga or Li Xin from Kingdom. He already gone through most everything but that doesn't mean he isn't an interesting character in his own right.
I think that could be one of the reason why Biao Ren isn't a straight hit everyone is talking about.
Since one of the other character, a little guy called Shubao has more of a protagonist vibe with his naive strength and determination, coming fresh out of a mountain but extremely skilled after training for his whole life, ready to become a man of justice. I wish I can see him more.
But I believe the anime that is coming out this year could shoot this manga into everyone's priority list.
The author is updating slower, so I hope it isn't suffering from the same unfinished Seinen manga sickness. The fact the anime is coming out could probably determine it's popularity in the west.
The art is peculiar. Something about it feels off yet still right. The further you go into the series, the better the art gets. Though the fight scenes are always enjoyable from the start.
It's a solid 8 so far in terms of everything. But if you enjoy westerns and Game of Thrones, I definitely recommend this manhua.

This shit is ridden with plot holes. Review contains spoilers but will be indicated.
It's BL, no mistake about it, anyone who tells you otherwise is just fooled by the quality of the drawing.
Make no mistake, this has a very fluid and organic looking artstyle, reminiscence of a Korean thriller film. The character movements feel so natural and organic, it looks like a still from a film.
Though eventually it also gets tiring to look at because you will be bugged by the fact that sometimes randomly, half their eyes disappears, or their faces suddenly just goes blank.

plotted BL with a lot of rape and violence. The sex scenes are long and gratuitous, the detective intervals are short and brief.
I don't mind the rape, gore, and violence but the actual story doesn't exist, it baits you to think it does but it's all over the place. There are plenty of cocks in this shit except for the plot which is a cocktease. Just when you thought some cat and mouse detective v serial killer is gonna start, more rapey manipulative gay sex.
I can't believe I actually got baited into reading all of this fucking BL for nothing and I won't reveal how he was caught but let's just say it was contrived and convoluted garbage.
The main antagonist instead of being clever, does the same typical song and dance of acting then having everyone believe him.
Now to the plotholes you may skip this last section because people were trying to call this a Psychological Thriller.
In chapter 2, they called the murder of the antagonist's parents, Sangwoo a double homicide.
Then as the story progress it is revealed the antagonist's mother did the murder of the father together with the antagonist, then they went and hide his body.
But afterwards his mother tried poisoning him, so he killed her mother and hide her body in the wall of his home that was supposed to be a shocking revelations later.
So how was it a double homicide? This is an important plot element because this was how the antagonist got to know the officer and got into a good relation with him. So how tf did the officer found a double homicide when two bodies are hidden away?
Another thing is after this girl was murdered, her fake nail was found by Chief Kwak who suspected Sangwoo because the girl likes handsome men. First of all, a year apparently has passed since that time and he took copious amount of effort to clean things up, with bleach and everything to the floor.
How did he miss a nail because the police chief conveniently looked down to the table and there it was. Then Sangwoo noticed he took the evidence. How did he notice he took the evidence and not noticed the fake nail on the ground the whole time?
And why didn't her classmates tell the police she was all over Sangwoo? With a warrant they could have checked their text messages and found they last met.
But wait, this is the worse part, he was caught not because of some ingenious detective work by glasses guy. He was fucking caught by some convoluted coincidence that happened to happen.
There is no psychological thriller, it's just an abusive manipulative sociopath going back and forth, one second nice another second violent.
In fact, I think the backstory was literally changed for him halfway through as it went from loving mother to the mother trying to kill him which lead him to wanting to kill more women because they remind him of his mother but Yoon Bum reminds him the most of his mother but wont' kill him because he's a guy??? The whole thing makes no fucking sense.
It's the same shit over and over but it always cockteases to something bigger but I arrived at the end with nothing except having read a sadist yaoi fetish for girls thinly disguised as a serious work.

This story is not survival horror, sure, it might be up to chapter 50 or something but from there, the whole thing just becomes "let's make shit up as we go". They established nothing from before, and shit just starts popping up from nowhere, this is introduced, that is introduced, basically, the setting is minimalistic, the twist is that, ha, there is even more settings you knew nothing about! Okay. So instead of working what we got, we get mountains of expositions on what everything is. That's what make the story so terrible, other than the abrupt tonal shift.

pissed that they literally made up a bunch of shit that has no establish connection to what was already presented, but honestly it's kind of hilarious how it went from [POTIENTIAL SPOILERS] minimalistic steampunk survival horror to full-on modern world borderline Gundam storyline about spies and war with a segregated race that can pilot the Gundam with a lot of other shit introduced to fix up plotholes regarding why they aren't fighting back despite being oppressed and presented with powers. [POTIENTIAL SPOILERS END]
The characters are also so dull when one character was said to have died, I went "meh" meanly because they were given no real personality and was inadequately developed. I really don't care about them after they changed the theme from "struggle for freedom for humanity" to a goddamn war story with even more shit being made up along the way. I heard AOT's original story got leaked or something because I can really see why. Shame, the first half was mysterious and good.
Anyway I was right about this shit being made up as it goes with the disastrous and hilarious ending, I had AOT fans coming to comments to tell me to reread it until I get this horrible and uninspired random piece of shit.
I already saw it going downhill the moment Marley was introduced out of nowhere, people actually think it's a masterful twist. I guess Isayama took that as compliment and made another MASTERFUL twist at the end with Eren being a ****.
But the fact these many people did not see this coming is quite telling of what really made AOT popular. Underneath all the ridiculous "AOT IS A GENIUS PEAK FICTION BLAH BLAH" work is just Eren giving people meaning in their meaningless life, it blinded them completely to just how random and messy the whole plot has been. The last 50 chapters is a complete disconnect from the first half.

This is the height of mediocrity and confusion. The characters are boring. The plot is confusing. The art is nice. The music is okay. The animation is okay.
Every single one of them were uninteresting, the only thing I can remember was their pretty designs, there was little exceptional about them, their chemistry non-existent and "FRIENDSHIP" was painful to sit through even though in the end they [potential spoiler] actually defeated the main shadow villain with the power of their friendship, yes, really.[potential spoiler ends].
Even the villain, who's motivations is flimsy and inexplicable because it is coupled with the confusing plot, one really has

no idea what the villain is. Human, God, Dreaming? What? It doesn't matter but I thought there was some other huge twist coming at the end but turns out that was all and I was like suppose to know the settings on my own already. The only thing that carried the series forward is the character design and the anticipation of a twist that never came. And that was the other reason I watched it for.
It is really excruciating as there was a clear buildup for a twist but the multiple twists are so absolutely nonsensical because the settings itself is unexplained and it really has no effect on the overall story.
There is also this theme about Grid and computers, and Hyper World, blah, blah, blah, but it is again, unexplained. I would assume probably because this was based on an old TV series from the 90s, this is like a spiritual sequel and you are just supposed to know what it's about? I don't see why they can't explain the settings either for new watchers because that was the only thing I can wonder about as the plot trots forward confusingly.
It's a confusing mess. I thought it was going to get better because of how little they explained at the start and how there were so many random things going on in the city, I thought there were going to be hints littered around about the settings here and there, but no, there was fucking nothing. The settings remained unexplained, and the twist was something that happened within the settings.
It's mediocre. I want to call it bad but the design, music, art, and animation elevates this a lot. So, I suppose it is just mediocre.

Sound 10/10: The music pairs wonderfully with the imagery.
Art 10/10: Absolutely amazing animation, natural and charming movements. An utter delight and feast for the eyes.

Extremely nonsensical. swapping happens and no one thinks "Wow, this guy/girl literally forgot EVERYTHING about where he/she is, who I am, and who he/she is. Huh, maybe's something's wrong here. Methinks we should bring him/her to a psychologist for his/her severe amnesia." Because that was literally what happened yet this reaction never happened.
Characters 5/10: It wasn't about the depth or chemistry of the romance. I didn't find the two characters particularly interesting. Their interactions are conveyed mostly through texts messages for half of the film, so I didn't find it endearing when they finally met up and somehow fell in love. The length they will go to meet each other again over being body-swapped was extremely off-putting; reason being they never had a proper conversation, just romantically gaze off vague concepts of each other based off superficial fragments of what others know of them and little of what they were willing to reveal. But nevertheless, it was so well-animated and put together I was actually willing to forgive the underdevelopment of what should have been a couple of huge plot points. The way they convey the emotions they were experiencing over their desperation, the love that they had (not sure why) actually filled those holes because it felt so believable. Unfortunately, it was still terrible every time I remember they are doing this because they body-swapped.
Enjoyment/Final Score 6/10:
I can see what all the hype is about, it was a meticulously put-together film, the imagery exceeds expectations although I didn't quite like the montage bits. It is beyond amazing to see how a poor and confusing concept can be so well-executed. I might have enjoyed it more if it wasn't so universally acclaimed but I am not sure, the story is really beyond awful. The characters mediocre. I guess it's really what you are looking for in a film because the animations, the atmosphere, really makes you forget all of its flaws almost instantly.

Craig Ferguson as an anime protagonist is pretty fun to watch. The first three episodes could have been an actual film. The problems it explores and resolves are interesting, but the main draw of the show is no doubt Japanese Craig Ferguson with his straight-forwardness, wit, self-confidence, and flirtiness. For a second I forgot this was actually an anime protagonist.
What surprises me the most is that he actually has chemistry with his friend, so many mediums have the retarded best friend that has zero chemistry with the main character you wonder why they even hang out with each other. But these two friends are actually

fun to watch. I feel like I have seen most of the girls in the anime before, but there are interesting variations and additions to their characters, they show some pretty realistic and justifiable moments of vulnerabilities behind some of their facades.
Animations aren't amazing but above decent. I thoroughly enjoyed the ride. Craig Ferguson in an anime. Now that's something.

Terrible.
Not that terrible but still terrible. This is why I hate anime films especially already having a backstory behind it. They don't know whether they should develop their existing characters further or shoehorn new ones. Case in point, the black guy antagonist is basically discount Shogo Makishima except he preaches a different line of shit, I am not sure why they have to reference western literature so many times.
Nothing happens here, basically, Sibyl has been introduced into another country, literally ask the same exact question as the first season.

System? No. Nothing, basically, same conclusion as last time. "IF IT WORKS DON'T FIX IT", I am not sure what to say here, the concept is to keep everyone emotionally stable as a fundamental perception of criminality is just really stupid. Stress from work overwhelming you?
Time to take a happy pill or die. I am deviating and digressing but the point is, if you are just going to show how it literally works every time and people are happy over it, what is the morally grey question being asked here? Repressing individuality is dismissed yet again as only the minority of them complains about which I find highly questionable if that is the case in this world, then whatever complains you have against the system should be dismissed because most people in this world have zero problems against it.
On the flimsy story and characters, in which finally, Akane and Kougami reunite, only to literally exchange words about how no character development has happened to each of them, apparently she thinks Kougami helping to overthrow a dictatorship is breaking the law, I have no idea how her brain works but I will accept it as her being a rigid bureaucrat and thinking that the Sibyl System as flawless. It was as intimate as it got as the backbone (characters) of what made Psycho Pass work has been replaced by this dictator subplot with an extremely unsatisfying conclusion with a bunch of characters no one cares about.

This is the most appalling thing I have ever read in recent memory. I usually only read things base on the top manga list, having enjoyed two manhwa lately, I decided to try this one. It was a great mistake. The art was great but the plot and characters make me feel physically sick. It was like watching a beta male's fantasy, the guy has no personality whatsoever besides being submissive, not liking women, loving his siblings and being swarm by girls because of it (Why do beta male in harem always get swarm by women? defend his honor and they do so without even thinking of him as pathetic, but got even more attracted to him.Wow, you can't make this shit up, no, literally, you can't make this shit up.
The fighting scenes are okay but the characters fighting are unlikable and completely divorce from reality. All of the characters have almost nothing going for them, the rich girl is the typical can't express her feeling type who seems cold and aloof, the other two are one-dimensional that respectively is just attracted to the MC for absolute no fucking reason. Anyone else is not even fit to call characters. The cringe-worthy part gets especially intense during some scene where they call out a helicopter against some ruffians because they are rich, yeah, not how shit works. Fight scenes are also predictable and has no weight to them, they are just people waiting to be defeated because they have shit personality so there is no need to analyze tactics because you already know what's going to happen.
Plot? There is no plot. I only got this far because of the art even then it starts failing because they prefer to draw them in deform chibi and the details become blurred. It is girls fighting unrealistically because there is no fucking way girls and men would mix in contact sports and there is no way you wouldn't get move up on the fighting league if you are able to K.O people consistently in seconds. Oh yes, let's not forget to mention how little fucking chemistry there is, they talk to each other yet there is no fucking chemistry at all between them, other than being bland and 1D, their relationship feels artificial and contrived.
This is my first 1 for something I have read. Hopefully, I won't be stumbling on garbage like this in the near future.
