I'm a recent graduate of UC Davis with a degree in Physical Anthropology and I'm a jack of all trades. I'm an inspiring graduate student. I'm either going to continue my studies in Physical Anthropology or I'm going into Family Law.
Currently, I'm somewhat in a "post-graduate slump." I've worked as as a bookstore clerk at the Pioneer Bookstore in Hayward, CA for awhile and I've moonlighted at the Ohlone College Bookstore in Fremont, CA. Recently, I've moved back to Davis. Currently, I'm studying for graduate school(A task I've been doing on and off for the past two years;Though this summer I'm doing it frequently) and finding yet another job. I plan to take my GREs before the summer is up; and applying to grad school.
I've been a fan of anime for quite some time. I've watched anime when I was a kid without knowing its proper term. I didn't declare myself a fan until I was 13. Like most other "Western fans", I've started to watch the "famous titles"(Mainly because of its convenience and accessibility on TV and rentals.). It wasn't untill 2008 when I've discovered crunchyroll and other free anime video websites, where I could watch any anime I want at my leisure. Even titles not known outside of Japan. So my "anime library" increased every since. And rising.
As for my tastes in anime, I'm typically open any genre. I would watch any anime as long as I'm AT LEAST interested. I don't care if watching a certain anime would make me "more cultured" or "less cultured."If I like it, I like it. And that's all there is to it.
I mostly use this site to keep track of anime I've watched, plan to watch, or currently watching. I will use it to communicate every now and then with others. But I'm not here to waste time in trolling or dealing with internet trolls. Or spend extensive amount of time arguing about topics with no real, explicit, "right answers"(e.g Topics such as our tastes in anime and such. I would post maybe one or two posts about my personal beliefs. But that's it).Which will bring me to my next topic.
I welcome everybody who is interested in getting to know me(In other words, I do accept "random friends request"....to a point). The internet is great when it comes to learning and knowing about new people you otherwise might not encounter in "real life." However, you best believe that we will spend at least one conversation in order for me to decide if it's worth keeping in contact. Also, I prefer(Though not required) if you send me a private message before you add me as well.Otherwise, I may delete you eventually.
I'm generally a laid-back person with a somewhat cynical streak.(I would like to think of myself as a cynic with a heart of an optimist. In other words, a "realist."). However, if you annoy me, attempt to "troll me" in anyway or if I just don't like you, then prepare yourself to face my wrath. Otherwise, if you are cool, then we would get along fine.
One last thing, I typically try the best I can to type legible sentences and such. However, I do have a problem with mixing certain " tenses" and other minor grammar mechanics. So if you're a staunch "Language purist," then I do apologize for my "imperfect sentence structure". But hey, at least I try. haha.
That's all for now.

There should be another comedy you like amongst that lot :)
The "about me" section was written years ago, and its main purpose was to keep the hounds at bay. Back when I first joined MAL the community wasn't as pleasant as it is now, especially if you didn't like certain shows (NGE for example).
No apology is necessary. It's about time I changed that section anyway, but it may have to wait for a bit while I think about what I should write.
Maybe I'll just crack some jokes about being a fogey and leave it at that :p
But i think its mostly because of my inability be as mobile as i used to be. I am kind of going though a medical problem and ive had the problem for the past 5 or 6 years, so i have nothing but time on my hands.
