Airing at 4 EPs right now.
Really enjoying this so far.
Take SAO, replace Kirito, give all players companion NPCs and then let the world go on after the players log out. Now enter OP years later and actually go into the fact the NPCs were self-conscious and now got autonomous, while the world advanced in that time. This is what makes it interesting.
If you want a bog standard Isekai with an OP hero, where the Isekai actually has a point to the plot, then go for it. Good for an Isekai, obviously.
The manga crowd is complaining that the source material is better, so maybe give that

a shot too.

Just to give some impressions while it's at EP 4 airing:
Really good Isekai if you want something that is overpowered, funny but also has a story to tell. Especially if you want a lighthearted pair like "Chillin' in My 30s after Getting Fired from the Demon King's Army". Which is pretty much a different version of this one.
While the story isn't special, the show manages to give it some unique spin, which even ads to the comedy. And while none of the characters are very in-depth, and some are definitely on the annoying side, the anime manages to balance it and keep things feeling fresh.

Trigun Stampede is a very good show. And I hope more people give it a real chance.
If you never heard from the original "Trigun", then go watch this. It is a very good, dystopian and sci-fi show with stunning looks. The 3D design or first two episodes may not hook you as much, but the show does deliver. It is a complete opposite of your typical anime character clichés. A very grim, melancholic, action packed and sometimes funny show that you can definitely call mature.

a try. Yes, some of the original characters are changed or removed, but at the same time this may just be part of the prequel-esce appearance this first season does give me. Where in the original Trigun it took quite a bit of time to go past the "italo western" show (comparable to cowboy bebop), this new interpretation goes straight into the main plot line in three episodes. That means some backgrounds and characters the original never really showed, or appeared very late, do get screen time very early on, which is good.
If anything Trigun Stampede is giving us the missing background of what actually happened in the original Trigun. From the world, how it came to be, to the various side characters, that appear in Trigun (but are never given more depth) and the conflict between Vash and the villain.
After first disliking the idea of a 3D, remade Trigun, and disliking some changes, I can safely say: Trigun Stampede is its very own thing. It may sometimes be diverging, but it gives so much more background and main plot line than the original ever had. And the 3D is done very good. The opening alone does show what studio orange is capable of.
Trigun Stampede takes the original universe, vision and style - making a new, more detailed picture of the world.

Ever wondered what it would look like if your 14 year old self would have written a story about one guy being OP and saving the world in secret? Then give your inner 14 year old child a treat with this. It is such an entertaining, over the top and well executed show. Don't expect a heavy story, don't expect demon-slayer level of animation, or deep character writing. But see it as a perfect power-trip with a ton of comedy, and a psychopath who never misses, no matter how much he ass-pulls his ideas and explanations.
Take One-Punch-Man, make him a psychopath that doesn't want to

get found out in his day-to-day form, and let him play edgy dark guy which never misses. Then add a plain but working story on top and round it up with really good fights, and a good potion of comedy. Now you set this up in a world of magic (and something about isekai, doesn't matter actually). This is TenSura if Rimuru just wanted to look cool.
Also yeah some ecchi shit no one asked for, what ever.

So because sb (Tallon) recommended it I'll try to review this show from my perspective. People expecting a well written review, please go on.
There are many animes where you could say you're not really sure how to rate the show, in a good or in a bad way, but I think DanMachi is special at this.
To start with the basics:
On the one hand we have too much ecchi in this show, in terms of boobs and some fan service scenes like the typical bath thing, or struggling who's getting the main char and "pressing" his arms over this (they should've added harem as tag). The

background story of many side characters is left aside even though it would've made sense to show why they're acting the way they're doing and not only showing a short retrospect at best, leaving some very potential characters who could've told a nice story in the dark.
We also, beside this described fanservice have "goddes" Hestia, which will, I guarantee it, get on your nerves as soon as you've passed half of the story.
On the other side we have very nice couple, consisting of Aiz and Bell. Bell, the main protagonist is drawn out okay, and believable as the person he's shown to be. Aiz's background is never shown during the whole 13 EPs, but I really started to love her as a person, though you never get to know what's really going on in her mind. Aiz seems to be an airhead at least for romances, because every time things like dates are mentioned she's asking what's meant. I think she would've been a good main char.. (you see the problem ?)
The problem with the love story here is that this annoying little brat Hestia, always interferes, when there would be a chance to progress like visiting a god damn town together. Though Hestia itself is presented as a 14 year old brat which is supposed to be a god, with cup size D. So besides them congratulating each other about their progress, there's no real thing that, thanks to Hestia, could happen or really develop.
So the love story never really settles down, what's left then ?
Only the progress in getting better in skills and strength, and a never really explained god, level and dungeon system.
Even those gods, sticking to the facts, *shouldn't* use their powers on earth, and you're never getting to know why their even existing or for what they or their powers are good.
In the end I've to ask JC Staff what they wanted to present here.
A love story ? Well it never really develops any further. A story of progress ? Or the kind of plot that pops up during the last 2-3 EPs and some new characters, besides a grand "villain" who's never explained or shown doing more then laughing.
At this point I've to compare DanMachi with SAO, I'm sorry for people of both sides, but this has to be done.
SAO and this show are delivering a rank up and skill system in a fictional world, though DanMachi's world is real for the chars. Both are having a fighting couple and both are rushing in terms of their story.
DanMachi also shows very good fight scenes and does it even better then SAO, because pain is existing in this world and shown as such, making it easier to feel for the characters. The main couple in DanMachi is also older then in SAO, at least I would guess so according to their way of acting and things said in the show, while SAO shows 16 and 17 years old teenagers, I can't really feel with that good.
So there are some things DanMachi really does better then SAO. Even more the fact that the main hero isn't better or getting better by interfering with the fights of the heroine, leaving her in the dust, but by letting him trying to catch up.
BUT SAO has A: a finishing love story, B: a finishing storyline besides and C: throws more light on the side characters (I'm judging based on SAO I, I've dropped II halfway.)
(24 EPs SAO vs 13 EPs DanMachi, I'm sorry JC Staff that you got only granted that much for the show!)
Conclusion:
Some very well drawn fights, a growing up story, too much ecchi and some annoying characters. Mixed with some poorly drawn out side chars and an unknown point of what the show really wanted to deliver.
For one part I would watch a second season, hoping for more Aiz and Bell, but being honest and honest to myself this show kinda f*cked up midway. I would still recommend it, but don't expect too much.
Probably, if you're reading up the information on MAL (there seems to be more information about the world, origins etc), the show simply would've been better with more EPs, not trying to stuff all of this into 13 episodes.
I really would've wished for that, the idea, setting and especially the couple has some potential, which *could* be kinda fixed with a second season.

This is my personal opinion, but please send me a PM is you want to criticise something about this review. I'm writing this because I think the top reviews are missing something about this show.
I'll tell the bad things first and the greater things later, mostly because Akame Ga Kill is something you can really see from two sides.
On the one side is the stereotypical cast consisting amongst others of Bulat, a very strong an gay male, the tiny moe tsundere Mine, and Akame, a very quiet but highly skilled female swordsman to give you an idea of it.

and sometimes really stealing all seriousness, and we have a typical harem sooner or later, worshipping Tatsumi, our male lead, even from the enemy lines, fortunately it's staying on a bearable level and isn't the main plot.
Letting all of this alone, the biggest downside is probably the dark and gore setting which is delivered here. Some characters die very soon and I doubt that anyone would've build a big relationship to those till that point where they're already dead. The same can be said about the whole reason they're fighting for, most of the background stories are only to deliver a reason and show some bloody massacres which you will simply let pass because they aren't introduced very good, leaving them without any real (deep) meaning for the viewer.
Also I doubted this self declared justice of a group which acts and thinks the same as the so declared evil side, claiming that only the good shall live and all evil has to be killed, even using the same words to start their actions.
On the other side you can really enjoy most of the fights and get pumped up about getting straight through with their target. This really depends on the fact if you simply take the story and enjoy it for being as straight and clear as it is or not. This also means it's not delaying for example the consequences of fights like other shows do, where nearly all villains are coming back sooner or later (typically without any trace of what happened in the past).
Also, despite the short time you have till the first chars are dying, I started to really feel for the ones which where still alive, which means that while Akame Ga Kill really tries too hardly to bring up a dark, bloody and deep story, it still can get you into it.
While I firstly took Akame Ga Kill as an comedy-gore show it later on really showed consequences in the story. For example what I said about the good here being far too deep into killing and eliminating the other side, to be still living in the new, friendly empire they're aiming for ? They really figured that out by themself, drawing their own consequences, which I really doubted at first, judging from their actions.
Conclusion: Akame Ga Kill can be the too superficial and overdrawn show for you, at least at the start, but it can also deliver another side which ultimately draw me to the conclusion of 8/10 despite all the things you could say about it. And if you should experience to see this show also in the better way, please keep in mind: The name says it, people will die.

So, here is my opinion, at first: This is my first review, it's not going into all
parts like character writing, art etc.
So if you want a well researched and fair review, please move on, thank you.
At first:
I really liked this series! The idea of the story is so good, it overwhelmed me, the characters
are really good, you can really feel with them and understand them.
The technically idea about how this works is really good explained and well elaborated in my eyes.
You will be directly into the anime and you'll love the first 14 eps.

The bad:
This is a really good plot and in the first 14 episodes you'll love this anime for it, but after them
the scenery changes and takes place in another virtual world, where it's not a problem for the main
protagonist to die (respawn). This changes the whole feeling, if not changing the world is already self
explaining.
The story rushes from the beginning, I felt like that from the second episode, but I had no problem
with it, till this one hard cut in the middle came.
The story doesn't cut here, it's one big story still, but you'll feel like you where kicked out of a
dream.
It could even have ended with this 14th episode, it would've been a clean, even though not completely
explained ending.
The good:
I loved the love story, the fights, the friendships, the story about the problems in modern society
and the whole story so much, that I can oversee for myself this big kick in the face in the middle of the story.
The art is really well drawn, the sound quality is also good. ( Read: In my stream I didn't experienced
bad ones. )
Conclusion:
Not everyone will get into this, some will feel it too rushed so the death of a person isn't really interesting,
but if you love this idea and the world it can be really good.
My big warning is in the end the hard cut, and the nearly rape at the end.
The enjoyment was high enough in the end, and I think the "watch at least 2 ep's" rule also works here.
And I still think this is one of the shows that can be seen equally good as Clannad, ( I know some people will hate me for that. )
