It been long time since we talked, I take it either we both are busy in over lives or simply not interested in anime anymore. In case of me it is former but a little bit of later(latest season being the most uninspiring anime season I've ever seen, nothing catches my interest), what about you?

Ahh Giant Robo, well it is based on a manga made before 1970 so while it is made after 90's with better animation character designes are one of simplest you can imagine for a mecha ova. Talking about animation it gets good as series progress, nothing to be suprised since it took 6 years to make 7 ova.
Now as for story, I take it as you can read its description so I will talk about plot and events till episode 2 in brief.

Oh boy, where do I start? Story screams 70's, full of explosions done by an evil org and our kind hearted useless boy is the only one who can save the world. Going into a little detail, It wasn't that simple.
A group of scientists were trying to create a perfect energy source, they succeseded however price was big, in one of the experiments a country vaporized and they lost one of the main sciencetist . However as new discovery was too great for humankind to ignore they choose to ignore the accident and started utilizing in their daily lives to the point that even a small lighter was based on new discovery. Obviously one day as expected the big bad lost scientist returned with his hate for mankind to ignore him, used his knowledge to make every single thing that runs on power useless a.k.a no power supply for the world and The day the earth stood still.
But our Giant robo runs on nuclear energy so its ok, he will save the world.

You mean ep 3 of second season, well fuck it.
For the whole 1st season they forgot about Ilya and then they decided to give her a flashback just before killing her, that is new Akame ga kill, just with high quality production. Most fans are salty as well, so in the end of this season shirou will pull out a power up and will defeat Gilgamesh who defeated Berserker like with much of a fight, bravo.

This series is already fucked so just hope that the same idiot director doesn't direct heaven's feel.

I didn't start You lie in April because at this point I seriously don't want anything else in my anime list. I am actually focusing on finishing on on hold and currently watching shows. Having too many shows is just pain in the ass.

Even if you're not into movies I hope there were some movies that you liked in the past, which ones?

I am free now-a-days, was getting bored with anime so I switched to movies again, this time bollywood because somehow last year two were exceptionally good when it comes to movies, so I am finishing my backlog.

It is actually interesting how there are so many people to discuss movies around me in IRL but not about anime, then again there are not that many anime on which you can hold a decent discussion. I watched Haganai next and ending left a bad taste in my mouth, aside from that it was a fine ecchi comedy which was fairly easy to watch. Not something I would remember in long run though, except Rika's erotic reading of mecha manga. That was hilarious.

Watching Grisaia? You gonna love the trainwreck, emo stories of emo girls as well.

B-b-boring. I've yet to see last episode, but man it is sleep inducing so far. Besides Archer's sarcasm and comments nothing noteworthy. Even fight scenes can't save it which I say are well done overall but lack resolution. What is going on with all this I am sparing your life so you can come back and bite me, remember Ilya's last comment in episode 3?
Spending most of the time in kitchen and school, it feels like less of a war and more like a high school drama.

Well yeah its true that ippo will be a little too overpowered for your liking, actually most people think the same including me. What actually saves the show is its progress and likable characters, its not only about ippo but about their opponents as well. Opponents won't be just canon fodder who will be forgotten after fight, most of them are interesting and they actually returns. Most interesting of them will be Sendo(one hell of a match just wait around ep 33) and A russian boxer whose name is hard to type. There will be a match between them as well showing world is not revolving around just ippo.

How Ippo is going? Repeatitive?

its...alright, its a good place to start but its not as great as the other series

I am actually rewatching it in DUB right now as I am replying to you. I only watched it because it was a recommendation for "Now and then, here and there" and people also hailed it as one of the realistic war drama alongside with Turn A gundam and Area 88. So far its boring but not disappointing, also not having too much pew pew makes it better than half of the mecha stuff out there. All in all so far, a good show but not for me.
