Gankutsuou is the anime adaptation of the amazing nineteenth century novel 'The Count of Monte Cristo' by Alexandre Dumas, but in space, in the future with enormous mechs and demons. Typically anime, turning an revenge story set in nineteenth century France into a space drama with mechas and I haven't even begun talking about the trippy animation, or the fact that the main character became a blue psychotic villain, or the dude who fucks his mother. This anime is unique in at least hundred different ways, but it's also very weird at times, the uniqueness of the show is both it's main strength and weakness, ... because now and then it just tries too hard to be different with mixed results.

~Story~ 8/10
The story is LOOSELY based on Dumas' novel, I repeat loosely. Because his novel did not take place in space, for starters. The novel is objectively way better than this anime, is the anime bad? No, the original novel is just superb. The anime is still good and it's very different from the novel. This is both the strength and the weakness of this adaptation. It's unique and different, but some changes are just bad (like turning the count in a blue demon, why is the count blue? Why doesn't anyone in this whole story care about the fact that someone is blue? I would be surprised if I met a blue person, why aren't these people?). If the directors had decided to make a faithful adaptation of the 'Count of Monte Cristo', then this show would have been just another adaptation of a novel that already has a lot of adaptations at best and a total failure at worst. Now, it's something original, it's extremely anime like (mecha, space, the way the romance is handled), but it's different from most other anime in terms of execution and of course the animation. It is the changes that make this anime good and flawed at the same time.

Our main character in the novel is the count (an awesome anti-hero with a disturbing past), our main character in the anime is Albert (a spoiled fool with the brain of a chicken). Albert and his best friend Franz (who is absolutely not gay for Albert) meet the mysterious count and Albert is immediately charmed by him. Even when the count releases a massmurder and let more innocent people die during their first meeting, is Albert still convinced that the count is the coolest thing in space. After Albert brings himself in danger by going after a whore who is apparently a guy, he gets kidnapped by a gang and saved by the count. Our awesome main character decides to invite the count to his house and then the trouble begins. The count seems to have a certain connection with almost every friend of Albert or with their family. And he uses Albert for his revenge plan, I won't spoil more for the people who haven't watched this show (go watch it now!). My biggest problem with the anime is Albert, he is extremely annoying and extremely stupid. One of the best things about the novel was the main character: the count and his grey morality. The best thing about the anime is certainly not Albert and his stupidity. The anime ends very different from the novel and I personally dislike the ending a little bit. Also, some subplots are dragged out and unnecessary (the Valentine arc for example). Aside from these problems is the story enjoyable to watch and suspenseful.

~Art~ 9/10
The combination of both 2D and CGI animation might put viewers off in most cases, but it works in Gankutsuou. Let me make this clear: I HATE CGI, but for an anime made in 2004 is the CGI damn good. Okay, the CGI mecha fight looked awkward at times, but it's beautiful in the background. The clothes are another thing about the animation, the clothes are 2D backgrounds and they don't move with the characters. This looks in most cases amazing, but sometimes I just looked at my screen while asking myself what the heck a character was wearing, shining and sparkling red paper or something. And the count is blue, by now you've probably realized that this bothers me a lot. But overall is the animation unique and beautiful and it gives the show a special feeling. I would even recommend people to watch it just for the animation alone!

~Music~ 5/10
Is the guy who sings the opening song tone deaf? The opening 'We Were Lovers' is a disaster (but with nice visuals), the ending song is much better, but the lyrics are very weak (in a cringey way). But the OST's are amazing and they fit the scenes they're used in perfectly. The (Japanese) voice actors did a great job and they even spoke some French sentences (without sounding totally ridiculous). Especially the voice actor of the count (Jouji Nakata) sounded amazing.

~Characters~ 5/10
The main character is a pain, there is not much to say about Albert aside from the fact that he is a spoiled little brat with the brain of an average chicken. The other characters need to explain him exactly what's going on the whole time because he can't figure it out on his own. After five people tell him that the count is (obviously) using him he just refuses to accept it and tells everyone that they're just lying. After the count himself tells him that he was (obviously) using him he still refuses to accept it and starts crying. He's such an idiot that the night before he has a duel he decides to get drunk, just wow Albert wow. He's at least a realistic portrayal of a spoiled aristocratic child, but his stupidity and lack of character development are both painful. He develops from a stupid, spoiled and whiny brat to a little bit less stupid, spoiled and whiny brat with a girlfriend. And no, he's not extremely 'human' (in that case humanity is done for), just extremely stupid. Franz is just your average best friend who's obviously in love with the main character. But he has a brain and is the first person who distrusts the count and he tries his best to keep Albert safe. He wasn't very original but he was a likable character (unlike our main character). Haydée lacked a personality (looking cute does not make you a good character), Eugenie is an independent woman who just wants her own career as pianist at first, but because of the fact that she is our beloved main characters love interest, she has to be saved by him the whole time. The count is plain awesome. He's charming, cunning and a very enjoyable villain/anti-hero and when you know his motives, you can't help but root for him. He's is the reason why I gave the characters a 5/10 and not a 2/10. His enemies are not very special or well written, but they serve their purpose. The other characters are not interesting enough to talk about, aside from Andrea, that guy is a total creep in this adaptation and not in a positive way, more in a very rapey way.

~Enjoyment~ 7/10
The show itself is very enjoyable especially during the first and the last part. The pacing is a bit slow halfway through, something that can be quite bothering. But the twists and turns (especially near the ending) keep the show interesting. Also, if you hate experimental animation, then you're not going to enjoy this show. When this show is at it's best, then it's amazing and when it's at it's worst then you watch a Shinji-clone (Neon Genesis Evangelion) with the brain of a chicken run around and cry, while the trippy animation gives you a headache. Enjoyable? Not really, but these scenes are exceptions and most of the time is this anime a thrilling revenge story that keeps you at the edge of you're seat.

And let's all be honest: what's better than an awesome revenge story in ninteenth century France? That same awesome revenge story in space with enormous robots, demons and trippy animation! Peace.

We all know that the internet has a lot of power nowadays. And it can raise a lot of awareness for all kinds of good causes, such as famine and natural disasters, but instead, the producers of this anime decided to use it for illustrating the dilemma that every young female has to face nowadays: with which of her 13 brothers does the main character want to start a romantic relationship? First world problems, right?

~Story~ 1/10
So I kind of explained the plot of this show in one sentence in my introduction. The series is about Ema Hinata, a 16-year old girl, who's actually been alone ... all of her life (can you already see the clichés coming?), and I'm excluding her stupid pet squirrel while making this statement. Basically, her life sucked until her father decided to marry a woman who has 13 (!) sons. And so Ema ends up with 13 new brothers, who are, of course, all deeply in love with her. I won't start about how unrealistic it is that a girl ends up with 13 brothers because of a remarriage, but what are the chances that ALL 13 OF THEM (including a toddler for God's sake) are in love with her? Every episode featured Ema with another brother, and it was all incredibly predictable and dull. Seriously, when I finished, it felt like I had watched around 50 episodes, and watching these 12 episodes (which felt like 50) felt like a chore. I'm not going to dig deeper into the story, because this is all there is to it. I'll admit it, maybe I'm just not the kind of person to enjoy reverse harems, but I can't imagine anyone else (apart from obsessive fictional bishounen-sensitive teens) enjoying this crap.
[CONCLUSION]
It's debatable whether there's really a story in this. The comedy was lousy, and not in place, sometimes even cringeworthy. The "plot" was unrealistic and seriously stupid. Who came up with this?

~Art~ 5/10
The art in this wasn't the worst I've ever seen, but it definitely wasn't great. For some reason, every single dude in this looked like a chick, and there was even one brother that resembled a cat (yes, I'm talking about the perverted one). It had some pretty colors (to attract horny nose-bleeding teens, probably), but don't fall for them, this anime is still a pile of shit. A colorful pile of shit, but still a pile of shit.
[CONCLUSION]
Colors everywhere, and males looked like females. It was so confusing that at one point, I couldn't even tell who was supposed to be a trap anymore.

~Sound~ 4/10
One word to describe the music in this: forgettable. The opening was a stereotypical reverse harem intro, so forgettable, I have no idea how it went anymore. The show probably had some OSTs, but umm yeah. Wait, I remember three things considering the sound in this. 1) The ending. I didn't know I was watching Uta no Prince-Sama? Nobody asked for those traumatizing ending visuals, but then again, nobody asked for this piece-of-shit-anime either... "Kissu kissu, Ai need ur lavu"... 2) The voice of that damned squirrel. At one point, I was just irritated beyond belief, to the point where I actually wanted to set my computer on fire, so that I could see that stupid rodent with its stupid voice finally burn. 3) The voice of that toddler..... Woah. You know how some things are called a match made in heaven? Yeah, the character and the voice of the toddler were the complete opposite of that. It was as if Jigsaw was trying to convince the viewers of his cuteness. Seriously, no toddler has a voice that low.
[CONCLUSION]
Most of this was below average, and the voice acting was rather bad.

~Characters~ 1/10
Well, this should be fun. I'll go over the characters a bit quick, since there are so many. I'll start with the main character, Ema. The wiki calls her the heroine of the story, but I don't think she's a heroine. She's just kind of there. She doesn't stand up for herself even once. Seriously, why is the girl in reverse harems always either an aggressive tsundere or a retarded, brainless zombie like Ema? There's nothing interesting to tell about her, so I'll move on to my favorite character: the squirrel. Just kidding, I hated him more than anyone. He was trying to "protect" our beloved main character from the brothers, which involved some serious stalking incidents. There was even a moment where us viewers were supposed to feel bad for that gnawer, because Ema didn't take it with her to school or something. Is that the definition of "feels" nowadays? Now, for our 13 Asahina brothers. The oldest son, Masaomi, the stereotypical caring guy, whose only life concern is his family. The second son, Ukyo, the stereotypical smart guy, who is basically the slave of the entire household. The third son, Kaname, who is a monk, but a very perverted one, and he hits on every girl he sees. Great monk. Seriously, does buddhism allow that kind of shit? The fourth son, Hikaru, is the trap of the family. The fifth and sixth sons, Tsubaki and Azusa, the twins who have the same two lifegoals; becoming anime voice actors and becoming Ema's boyfriend. The seventh son, Natsume, the only normal guy, who decided to leave the house and live on his own (and who could possibly blame him for that?). The eighth son, Louis, the stereotypical silent guy who wants to be a hairdresser or something. The ninth son, Subaru, the stereotypical sporty and awkward guy. The tenth son, Iori, who seems normal at first, but he has a strange obsession for flowers. The eleventh son, Yusuke, the stereotypical tryharding guy, who's failing at life. The twelfth son, Fuuto, who is 13 years old, yet looks like he's 18. Has some sadistic tendencies, even though he's just a spoiled 13-year old. He's kind of like the Joffrey Baratheon of Brothers Conflict. And last but definitely not least, the thirteenth son, Wataru, the toddler with the godzilla voice. I don't know about you, but I love this cast.
[CONCLUSION]
The cast consisted of stereotypes and the characters got no development at all.

~Enjoyment~ 2/10
Well, this is very subjective. After watching this (which I do not recommend you) you might end up laughing at the stupidity of this, or you might be crying because of your loss of faith in humanity. One thing that's for sure though, is that you'll be incredibly frustrated by the main character, who could have been replaced by a doll and no one would have noticed a thing. The final episode of this show is absolute and utter bullshit and will make you question why you watched it (even though you already did that whilst watching the series itself). Oh, and your eyes will probably bleed because of the ending.
[CONCLUSION]
The second hand embarrassment in the comedy of this was huge, the show wasn't funny and all in all just very boring.

I have only one more thing to say: spare yourself. Spare yourself from this so-called Brothers Conflict, which I experienced as a conflict with my inner self, debating about whether I should drop the shit or not. And that repeated itself after every episode. I definitely made the wrong choice finishing it, it's not worth your precious time. Peace.

Black Butler is an odd mix of comedy, drama, fantasy and yaoi undertones. There are few anime out there that can combine comedy and drama without ruining one of these elements, sadly enough Black Butler is not one of these shows. The comedy totally ruins the drama and is often unfunny and immature, the bishies and yaoi tropes were unnecessary and the fantasy didn't make sense. But for some reason, this anime is in the top 50 most popular anime on MAL, why? Probably because it had bishies, a hot butler, nice music, pretty animation and a gay death god that tries to make senpai ... notice him, oh so hilarious.

~Story~ 3/10
We meet our main character, a 10 year old boy (who looks like a girl) and gives his soul in exchange for revenge against the people who killed his parents and tortured him. Two years have passed and our main character, Ciel Phantomhive, has a demon butler who helps him with his revenge (and cleans his house). Though they don't really seem to care about taking revenge, because they're way to busy with drinking tea and solving crimes. The queen decided to make Ciel her personal detective for some kind of reason, we never really discover why, but now Ciel wastes his time with solving crimes. And for some kind of reason are there always supernatural creatures involved in those crimes, so Sebastian can show of his fabulous demon fighting skills, while fighting them. The first episode was amazing, there was a dark atmosphere, the main characters looked interesting and the plot twist near the end was great. And then everything went downhill, our main character and his demon butler get a mission, they discover that something supernatural is involved, they solve the mystery and Sebastian says "I'm one hell of a butler", then there is another mission or a filler, in the last case the viewer is tortured with the Phantomhive servants (also known as comedic relief no one asked for) screwing up things and sucking at everything except for killing people. This kind of "comedic relief" totally ruined the drama in the anime, even a cliché sad backstory didn't make these servants more interesting, because their only use in this anime is screwing up everything.

The setting also fails, no one behaves like they're supposed to do in the Victorian age. Still, the first part of the story is decent, some episodes were actually good, but the second half was just a convoluted mess. Nothing that happened made sense, characters behaved out of character (Sebastian leaves Ciel for a stupid reason), plot twists came out of nowhere and unexplained supernatural occurrences happened. Only the ending was great, the last minutes of the show were better than the whole second half together. But then, the creators decided to ruin that by creating a sequel that just erased the great ending of the first anime, like it never happened. Amazing job writers!
{CONCLUSION}
The story was decent in the first half and a total mess in the second half. There were way too many fillers and none of these fillers were funny or interesting, they were just a waste of time. Also the gay undertones (everything about Ciel, Grell's behavior towards Sebastion, crossdressing for no good reason and so on) were unnecessary. It didn't add anything to the plot, but it just attracted those annoying teenage girls who love yaoi pairings and name themselves 'missPhantomhive489' on YouTube.

~Art~ 8/10
The animation was very good, especially the backgrounds and clothes. The anime is set the Victorian age setting and the buildings were very realistic and fitted the time period (the behavior of the characters didn't). The character designs were quite feminine, Ciel really looks like a girl even without wearing a dress, but not bad. Every character had their own distinct features, which made them stand out. The animation was also pretty good during the fights and during the comedic relief moments (I still hate these moments, but the animation looked good)
{CONCLUSION}
The animation was great. Yes, bishies everywhere but the backgrounds were spectacular. Not a single character looked boring and the clothes were very detailed. The animation was probably one of the best things about this show. And I have to admit, Sebastian throwing knives and forks at random baddies looks extremely epic.

~Music~ 9/10
The opening song "Kiss of Monochrome" is great and really fits the more dramatic parts of the show. The first ending song "I'm ALIVE!" is an upbeat J-pop song that fits the stupid comedic relief moments. The chibi art style of the animation of the ending song was actually quite amusing. But the second ending song is on a whole new level, "Lacrimosa" is sad, melancholic and extremely beautiful. The background music was nothing special but certainly not bad and the voice acting was very good. Especially Sebastian's voice actor did an amazing job. The music was simply put great.
{CONCLUSION}
The first ending song was okay and the opening and second ending song were amazing. The background music was good and the (Japanese) voice actors did a great job. The best thing about Black Butler was the music, and that is not meant as an insult, the music was just damn great.

~Characters~ 2/10
Our main character is a snobby, spoiled, edgy, teenage bishie, sorry Ciel but you're not only an annoying person, you're also a bad character. His motivations are unclear, his behavior is inconsistent and drinking tea does not make anyone seem 'cool'. Also, he's just a walking mannequin, the creators were too busy with making him wear fancy dresses to give him a likeable (or at least tolerable) personality. Sebastian is just a hot and perfect butler, he seems more like a perfect boyfriend than a scary demon. Which was probably on purpose, because now the fangirls have someone to ship Ciel with, or themselves. Though he has as much depth as a paddling pool, he's enjoyable to watch (something that can't be said about Ciel). His fighting scenes were pretty cool and he has style. And of course, let's not forget 'I'm one hell of a butler'. He's a badly written character who's a joy to watch. And then we have the Phantomhive servants, they were useless, whiny, annoying and not funny. Their 'sad' background stories were extremely cliché and they ruined every attempt to make this show dramatic (or a bit more mature). Grell is a gay shinigami, who wants to bang Sebastian and just like the servants, his role is to ruin every attempt to make this show serious, oh and his constant nosebleeds are not funny at all. And there is Elizabeth, the most whiny and useless love interest for a protagonist since Misa from Death Note (and even Misa has more brains than this walking candy cane) and her attempts to make everything 'cute' annoyed the heck out of me. I was literally cheering when Ciel tried to slap her. Every other side character is either boring or horrible (aside from Undertaker, he was pretty cool).
{CONCLUSION}
It it so difficult to create cast with at least one character who's tolerable, let alone well written? Ciel is a edgy, whiny and spoiled teenage boy living in Victorian England, but behaving like he lives in the present. Sebastian (that name is so damn cliché for an English butler) is way too perfect and lacks any form of depth, but it's a joy to watch him kill people with knives and forks. Grell is a joke, he's gay for Sebastian and that's everything about him. The servants are annoying 'comedic relief' and Elizabeth has a place in my top ten most annoying anime love interests. She did not a single useful thing in 24 episodes, not a single thing! The rest of the cast is not even worth talking about and Undertaker is okay.

~Enjoyment~ 5/10
This was my third anime and when I watched it for the first time, I actually enjoyed it, but when I rewatched it, I realized how flawed this show actually is. It is possible to enjoy this anime when you're either new to anime in general, when you just want to have some fun with a supernatural show without thinking to much about the story or the characters or when you love yaoi undertones and bishies in dresses. It's not a horrible show, but the plot is a mess, the characters are weak and the yaoi undertones are annoying. Still, if you have a lot of time to waste or you just want to turn of your brain, then you might want to watch this show, in every other case, there are way better anime out there!
{CONCLUSION}
It's an under average show. Certainly not the worst anime, but also not worth the praise it gets and the enormous fan base. If you value you free time and prefer good anime, I would suggest that you skip this show. Oh and fans, can you please stop making creepy Ciel x Sebastian fanart? That's pedofilic demon yaoi, just don't. Peace!

"Tokyo Ghoul is so deep and mature!"
- A random pretentious edgy 12-year-old

After the ending of Attack on Titan, the anime community realized that they needed something to fill the void that was left behind. Another anime about humans vs. monsters, with beautiful music and visuals (aimed at 12-year-olds who believe that everything with blood is mature), but that in reality is just an advertisement for the way better manga was exactly what the community wanted. And then we got Tokyo Ghoul, one of the most overhyped anime I've ever seen. If you heard the fans talking about it, you almost believed that this was ... the best work of fiction ever created, with deep philosophical themes, well developed characters and a brilliant story. In reality there was another damn story about humans vs. monsters (and one of the humans becomes a monster, so original), a bland cast and an attempt to raise the question "are the ghouls or the humans the monsters?", but even Elfen Lied handled this better.

~Story~ 2/10
Kaneki is your average shy and boring protagonist, who has a date with a girl who's at least ten times as hot as he is. Then she turns into a ghoul (a monster that eats humans) and tries to eat our poor hero, because of plot convenience some kind of organization drops a bunch of metal bars exactly on the girl and she dies, the wounded Kaneki who magically survives, gets some organs from the girl and he turns into a half-ghoul. Of course it's totally possible for a doctor to transplant organs from a ghoul into a human without getting trouble and of course our hero is now special, because he's both human and ghoul. He teams up with a bunch of ghouls who only eat death people and befriends a tsundere called Touka. Then we watch how the ghouls are victimized, because how can humans be so evil that they try to kill monsters who try to eat them? Only 99% percent of ghouls is evil, there is no reason to kill all of those murderous, psychotic monsters because 1% of the ghouls is good, right? What kind of logic is that?! "We have to make sure that the audience feels sorry for the monsters, let's make the humans kill a little innocent ghoul girl's mother and laugh psychotic while doing it, that's not obvious and cheap right?" It is, all the villains in this show look like comic book villains, laugh while murdering innocent people and probably strangle little cats for fun, they're not realistic at all! Everyone tries to kill poor Kaneki, because apparently half-ghouls are tasty, why? I have no idea. There is something going on between episode 1 and 11 that can be described as a plot, but you can summarize it in one sentence: people try to kill Kaneki and ghouls are victimized, the end. But then there is a shocking, extremely original plot twist....... victimization- power-up. Oh and an unsatisfying conclusion, read the manga or wait for season 2!
{CONCLUSION}
The story consists of the constant and never ending victimization of monsters. No, there is no reason to sympathize with the ghouls. Yes, of course they just want to survive, but the same thing goes for the humans. And the humans aren't victimized 24/7 in this show. The ghouls aren't 100% evil, but neither are they 'misunderstood' like the director of this anime seems to think. The story is weak and there are unanswered questions and plotholes EVERYWHERE! Like why do the humans keep living the same way as before, when they are surrounded with murderous psychotic human eating monsters? Where are Kaneki's parents? Why does a certain persons hair turn white? How do metal bars fall exactly on the right spot? How can ghouls drink coffee, but no other kind of drinks? Why is every human either pathetic or evil?Why didn't the humans just force everyone to eat food and then checked the people who started vomiting, would that be too logical? And the most important question: why do people claim that this anime has a good story?!

~Animation~ 9/10
The backgrounds were detailed and gorgeous, the character designs were original and the battle scenes looked epic. I have only one problem with the animation: censorship. I personally hate it when half of the screen is covered with black bars, and I assume that most other people aren't a fan of black bars either.
{CONCLUSION}
It looked great, even though the story is (supposed to be) dark, the animators used vivid colors, I think that this was a good idea. The gouls looked beautifully creepy during the fight scenes (look at those eyes), but the censoring was horrible.

~Sound~ 9/10
'Unravel' was amazing. Yes, it was a bit edgy, but I don't even care. The OST's were all somewhere in between decent and almost perfect and they were used in the right scenes. The Japanese voice acting was also top notch, especially the voice actors of Rize and Tsukiyama brought their characters to life.
{CONCLUSION}
The sound was extremely good, the ending song was forgettable but the opening makes up for that. The (Japanese) voice acting was great and the OST's were used at the right moments.

~Characters~ 1/10
They were a pain to watch. The most side characters just were there for 2 minutes and then disappeared just to never come back again. Kaneki is a walking punchbag, who cries a lot, pretty much the whole anime. And I don't feel sorry for him, because he is an overvictimised whiny brat. His development/ character swap in the last episode was weird and unrealistic (Spoiler: when most people are almost tortured to death, they don't turn in a badass). The best thing about him is his masker, great main character! Touka is your average tomboy and all her development is thrown out of the window in the last episode. Then you have bestfriend-kun, oldinspirationalman-kun, psychomurder-kun and victimizedlittlegirl-chan. Boring. Rize was an okay character during her 5 minutes of screen time and Amon seemed to think like a rational human being, those two were endurable. Special mention for Shuu Tsukiyama, he was great meme material and another horrible sadist, obsessed with our amazing main character, really what this anime needed!
{CONCLUSION}
One of the weakest casts I've seen in a very long time. The main character is a joke, the rest of the cast a nuisance. The were either bland or over-the-top evil and sadistic. None of them was memorable and their development was either nonexistent or it came out of nowhere. A plain bad cast, but the voice acting was pretty good, what a waste.

~Enjoyment~ 4/10
Beautiful music, great animation, shitty story and characters, what's new? This seems to be a trend of the last few years (yes, there are exceptions, but in general most new anime follow this pattern). This anime was enjoyable, but so damn forgettable, nothing about the story or the characters was memorable. If you turn of your brain and just want to watch an action series with nice visuals and sound, then Tokyo Ghoul is made for you. But if you want something with substance, don't watch this show. Also the last episode was predictable and the lack of a conclusion is annoying. Maybe that's the biggest problem, it ends with an open ending (watch the sequel) and leaves the viewer with a lot of unanswered questions, but it's not a cliffhanger. I don't want to watch the sequel, because I don't care anymore. If they ended it with something less predictable, I might have felt the urge to watch the damn sequel. Right now I just don't care.
{CONCLUSION}
It could have been great. Imagine: an anime with amazing visuals, great music, an actual story about prejudice an discrimination and well written characters. Sadly enough, the last two things were nowhere to be found in Tokyo Ghoul. It's just another shounen anime, that's trying way to hard to be a seinen, but fails miserably. It was overhyped, overrated and a waste of time. If you want to watch a mindless shounen with epic battles, Tokyo Ghoul is great choice, but if you want anything with substance, then I would advice you to skip it. Peace!

Princess Tutu is one of the best (if not, the best) shoujo anime I've ever seen with one of the worst (if not, the worst) names I've ever heard. What exactly were the creators thinking when they called it 'Princess Tutu'?! At first I refused to watch it because of the name, it sounded like some kind of corny ballet cartoon aimed at little children. Well, I was wrong, Princess Tutu is amazing! It shows that you don't need gore and forced drama to create an engaging story, the story is dramatic but there's is no melodrama, like in most other shoujo series. This anime ... is an underrated gem!

~ Story~ 8/10
Let's start with one of Princess Tutu's flaws, yes I know, I praised Princess Tutu but that certainly doesn't mean that it's flawless. The creators didn't seem to know how old the target audience was, sometimes there was childish comedy that only preteens could enjoy and sometimes the story turned really interesting and a lot darker. It feels kinda weird if characters are making stupid jokes about ducks and ten minutes later we hear that someone cut off his hands to write with his blood. And now and then the comedy just wasn't funny and ruined the more dramatic moments.

The actual story begins when Drosselmeyer gives Ahiru (Japanese for duck), who is an actual duck (yes the main character is a duck, deal with it) the chance to become a human girl. Drosselmeyer died while writing a story about a prince who shattered his heart to defeat an evil raven. Now, every character from this unfinished book lives in the human world and it is up to Ahiru to restore the prince's heart and give the characters and herself a happy ending. Sounds easy, right? Well, it isn't. Ahiru gets ballet-super-powers when she transforms into Princess Tutu, but she's not the only one and everyone is getting in her way. Also, Drosselmeyer seems a little bit too lively for a corpse and his ideas about creating the perfect tragic ending are very creepy.

This show mixed ballet with fairy tales, supernatural occurrences and talking animals, the result is amazing and there are many surprising plot twists that keep the viewers at the edge of their seats. But again, it is not perfect, the middle half is not as good as the first and the last episodes and at some points it's even boring and repetitive. And like I said before, the show is a bit childish at times and the comedy is not always funny.

An interesting story with a great ending. But it's not perfect, sometimes it's just immature and the middle part is weaker than the first and the last episodes. But the mix of fairy tales, ballet and a beautiful story is amazing. And the ending is heartwarming, but it's not a corny 'and they lived happily ever after'-ending.

The art style is not very special but it looked stunning during the ballet scenes and it fits the show. The animation is great and I personally thought that the somewhat girly art style supported the fairy tale-like atmosphere of the anime. The character designs were also very original, but too cute in some cases.

The animation is good and the art is (though a little bit too cute and girly) very fitting. And the ballet scenes are so gorgeous, the animators did an amazing job. But sadly enough, the art style made the anime seem less mature than it in reality was.

Both the opening and the ending song were slow and simple. This is certainly not bad, it fits the show. Also the background music was great. The great music combined with the stunning visuals made the ballet scenes beautiful. And the (Japanese) voice acting was great, the voices really fitted the characters. Especially Myuuto, the character started off as an emotionless doll and gained more and more feelings as the story progressed, the voice actor did this in a great way. At first his voice was plain, but as the story progressed his voice became less monotone. This was really fitting.

Great voice acting and awesome music! The sound was almost perfect, I really think that it was the best part of the anime (this is a compliment for the sound, not an insult for the anime). Also, I loves the opening song, it was very simple but also very charming.

Most characters were interesting and likeable. Ahiru starts off as your average cute, stupid girl who is in love with a boy, but by the end of the show she has become so much more. Myuuto is literally emotionless, but just like Ahiru he develops into an interesting individual. Fakir is probably the most likeable character from this show and it is intriguing to see that he slowly comes to terms with his place in the world. Rue is not as interesting as the other three main character but still a very likable and misunderstood character. Drosselmeyer is...... a total creep and Neko-sama is the weirdest talking and ballet dancing cat I've ever seen (and the only one), but after the fifth time his 'marry me'-joke became annoying, speaking about annoying, there are two characters who annoyed me so damn much. Lilie and Pique are Ahiru's stupid and almost sadistic friends who gave me a headache with their high pitched voices and stupidity. They were like the Jar Jar of Princess Tutu.
[CONCLUSION]
The most characters were likable, well-developed and interesting. And the supporting cast served their purpose. I liked pretty much every character aside from two annoying brats (you know who I'm talking about). The cast was great and main characters were quite memorable.

I hate ballet and talking animals. And guess what? I still enjoyed this show. This show is really enjoyable and even funny now and then. It starts off as your average 'girl is in love with boy and tries to get his attention' but it turns into something that is so much more than your average shoujo show. It is heartwarming, beautiful and enjoyable. But again, it's not perfect. Some episodes were repetitive and some characters brought the word annoying to a whole new level (I'm looking at you, Lilie and Pique) but overall, it was an enjoyable ride.

This review covers both the first and the second season of Code Geass. Code Geass is one of the most enjoyable anime I've ever seen. It's addictive, has awesome mecha fights, great music and an interesting main character. But it's also one of the most overrated anime ever created.

"What! Code Geass, overrated? Blasphemy! How dare you to insult one of the most popular and amazing anime this way, you just didn't understand this masterpiece!"

Well, Code Geass is not a masterpiece, the first season was pretty good, but the second season was just retarded. Why?

~Story~ 4/10
Our main character Lelouch is an exiled Britannian prince, ... who wants to avenge his dead mother and disabled sister. And (of course) the evil Britannian empire occupied Japan (again) and (of course) our hero joins with the brave rebels who want to free poor Japan (again). In exactly how many anime is Japan occupied by a foreign nation? It's not even funny anymore, do Japanese people have some kind of victim-syndrome?
But okay, our hero accidentally meets C.C. a pretty, mysterious girl who gives him superpowers, Geass. Now, Lelouch has to ability to control the will of everyone he sees, of course there are some limitations but Geass is extremely strong. This raises the question: Why did it take Lelouch so many episodes to achieve his goals? He did some things in the least effective way possible so the viewer could see more mecha fights and bombastic speeches, this is fun but it just doesn't make sense. Another problem with the story is that it doesn't really knows if it wants to be a high-school comedy or a serious and dramatic mecha anime with politics. You can't mix these two ideas and expect them to work, it is really weird that the viewers are supposed to care about stupid high-school drama after they have seen wars in which a lot of people died. Well, we see our protagonist in high-school and he teams up with the rebels and he tries to free Japan while having fun with the school council. The story progresses, apparently everyone in his school is either a rebel or part of the military and Lelouche wins every fight because of his "brilliant" strategies or Geass. There is a lot of melodrama, Lelouche has a harem, there is fanservice and he wins more battles, that's pretty much the first season. Then comes the second season, which is rated higher then the first, WHY? There were a few plot holes during the first season but during the second season there were plot holes everywhere. There were even more stupid comedic filler episodes and "awesome" new characters no one cared about (Rollo). Oh and almost every character aside from Lelouch and Suzaku became useless and added nothing to the plot, because of this there was almost no character development. And a lot of people have Geass-power because... Actually, I don't really know why. And Geass is now an explanation for everything. How did Lelouch win this fight against a stronger army? Geass. Why was his mother alive out of nowhere in a random supernatural Geass-world? Geass. A serious problem? Lelouch will Geass ex machina himself out of it. Also the fact that C.C. turned into a fanservice object because of amnesia is not okay. And then the ending, the greatest anime ending ever made! Haha no, the ending didn't make sense, Lelouch is not a hero, his behavior was out of character and this is not how world peace or politics works. But it's sad and there are feels, so everyone loved it *sigh*.
[CONCLUSION]
The first season was decent, but the second season was a train wreck. At first Lelouch used Geass, but the power of Geass was limited and he tried to use cool strategies (though a bit stupid at times), but after a while every battle is won because of Geass and plot convience. And I'm not going to talk about the ridiculous amount of plot holes or the dead mother of Lelouch who appears in some kind of supernatural Geass-world for no good reason. Also the combination of high-school comedy and dramatic war scenes did not work, the same goes for Lelouche's bombastic speeches and hand gestures. And there are more explosions then in a Michael Bay movie, why? Because it looks cool and it's fun. That's exactly the problem with this anime, they try desperately to make everything look cool and fun while the plot is a mess.

~Art~ 6/10
I'm not a fan of this art style, CLAMP's character designs look ridiculous. Every girl has big boobs and every guy looks like a bishie. Also it was too colorful during the more dramatic and the darker parts of the story. And the facial expressions are a bit over-the-top at times, I don't think that the makers were trying to make me laugh when the characters were sad or angry, but their facial expressions were so stupid now and then. Though I have to admit, the animation was original and the battles looked very nice.

I hated the character designs, but that is something personal. It was a little bit too colorful and Lelouch looked like a clown when he was sad or angry. Still, I think that the animation was pretty good.

The opening were all in between average and good, they were not extremely special, but they were fitting. I really liked 'COLORS' by FLOW, but it wasn't very original. The same thing goes for the ending songs. The background music was very good but a little bit too bombastic at times. There was nothing wrong with the (Japanese) voice acting, actually it was very good.

The music was great, the opening and ending song were fitting and there wasn't one bad opening or ending song. Also, the background music and the voice acting were very good.

Lelouch is an interesting character, everyone else isn't. Literally no one aside from Lelouch is interesting, let alone well-written. Suzaku is just an annoying, hypocritical whiner, Nunnaly is the useless, cute little sister in a wheelchair, C.C went from a powerful mysterious women to a fanservice object with amnesia, Shirley was just fanservice combined with forced drama and she kept screaming 'Lulu' at Lelouch in the most annoying way possible, Charles Vi Britannia is a stereotypical cartoon villain, Kallen was just part of Lelouche's stupid harem, what was actually the purpose of Rollo aside from annoying the viewers? Euphemia was a bland cute and nice girl and some girls were just in there for fanservice. I almost believed that Nina was the most interesting character of the whole supporting cast.... ok never mind, I take that back, poor table *shiver*.
But even the best character of this show, Lelouch, is not that good. His motivations and behavior keeps changing when the plot needs them to change. And everyone thinks that Lelouch is a genius, why actually? Because he plays chess or comes up with farfetched strategies that magically work? Lelouch is a perfect, pretty boy who is supposed to be smart and has a harem, when I think about it, he reminds me of Kirito from Sword Art Online.... ok, I also take that back, he's a better character than Kirito (not like that's saying much), but still he is not a brilliantly written character like his enormous fan base claims. His character development is inconsistent and the fact that during the final episode he stops behaving like an enormous jerk, doesn't turn him into a hero, this jerk started a war that killed millions of humans for the sake of his stupid revenge and his stupid sister. He's either an anti-hero or just a villain, so please stop with the "All hail Lelouch, he's the savior of mankind"-crap.

The characters were so damn bland. Most of them were annoying or useless, some of them were quite decent during the first season, but during the second season everyone aside from Lelouch and Suzaku turned into furniture, they just were there without contributing anything to the plot. We also got a bunch of new characters during the second season where no one asked for (yes Rollo, I'm talking about you). But the worst thing was what they did with C.C. She lost her memories and went from a supernatural and powerful women to dumb little girl who was constantly half-naked for the sake of fanservice, this annoyed the heck out of me. Good job writers, good job!

Bombastic speeches with over-the-top arm gestures and dramatic background music, epic mecha battles, a lot of explosions and an awesome though ridiculous ending: this show is extremely enjoyable. I was entertained from the first till the last episode, yes this show had a lot of problems but it was never boring. I can understand why people like this show so much, it's plain fun!

An enjoyable show with a lot of problems, if you love Michael Bay movies, you'll also love Code Geass. If you just want to have fun and turn your brain off, then go watch this show. But if you prefer well-written characters, consistent story lines and if you hate plot holes and characters that are nothing more than plot devices or fanservice, go watch something else, you'll wast your time on Code Geass. Guilty Crown has beautiful animation and great music.... and that's it. This show is one of the worst trainwrecks I've ever seen, everything aside from the animation and the music (so practically everything that is important) is bad. So many plot holes, poorly written characters, so much unnecessary fanservice, so much Code Geass (but a bad version of it) and a main character whose personality changes every 4 episodes (no, that's not great character development, just laziness and stupidity), our main heroine is a emotionless doll that looks pretty and we still don't know if our main antagonist is actually an evil guy, oh and ... our stupid, bland protagonist has a harem. While watching this, I almost believed that the producers made a list with the most unoriginal anime tropes and decided to put them all in one anime: Guilty Crown.

We start in a school setting, where we meet our main character Ouma Shu and the first thing he does is monologuing about not fitting in and being anti-social. Wow, you can't say that the writers weren't straightforward. And because of the fact that he is an angsty, teenage outcast he decides to have lunch in an abandoned building. There he finds a half naked idol, who is making a cat cradle..... (happens to me every day) and he behaves awkward (because he's the anti-social main character) and out of nowhere the police barges in to arrest the girl, Inori, and our awesome main character starts whining and says that he "wanted to get close to her and touch her hand", okay...... it's not like he knows her or anything so that's maybe more than a little bit creepy. The first 5 minutes of this show were ridiculous, a half naked idol (oh wait, those are her normal clothes, great, the main heroine dresses up like a stripper 24/7) who is a terrorist or something, a whiny anti-social main character who is totally not going to fall in love with pinkhaired stripper-chan and the evil police.... I love the premise of this show so much. Then the robot of stripper-chan appears and gives Shu some kind of vial, so of course our whiny main character decides to oppose the evil police and bring this vial to the terrorists base. There he meets Gai, the leader of stripper-chan's terrorist gang. Shu decides to save stripper-chan and breaks to vial..... now he has super powers, he can pull weapons out of people's (of course especially women's) chest and it totally doesn't look like he's pulling weapons out of stripper-chan's boobs. And that's the first episode.... and one of the best. Just try to imagine how bad the other episodes are *shudder*.
I'm not going to spoil every episode like this, don't worry. Well, let's go to the second episode, we learn that those weapons are voids, and the represent their owner (this does raise the question 'why is Shu's void useful?' because it's owner certainly isn't). We also meet the other terrorists who want to free poor Japan from the evil world that's ruling it *sigh*. First we meet Ayase, a young woman in a wheelchair who pilots a mecha and has enormous boobs, we also have a loli named Tsugumi. By now you have probably realized that every female in this show is a fanservice object... even the main character's stepmother. I'm so done with this show! Then we meet the villains, who are evil for the sake of being evil, especially Daryl, a guy who wants to be called 'the butcher' and murders people for fun, such a subtle and nuanced evil. After kicking the evil governments ass, our favorite main character decides that it's time to go back to high-school and then the most original thing ever happens.... stripper-chan is a transfer student and joins his school. I'm not making this up, this famous idol, who is a part-time terrorist just joins Shu's school as a transfer student, HOW? Well, now at least we can have stupid high-school comedy moments.... yeah! During the other episodes we see our 'hero' being a whiny emo outcast... but wait, this guy with an enormous amount of friends who all want to die for him or want to bang him is a social outcast? Yeah right, at least he behaves like he's a friendless loner for no good reason, but he also joins the terrorist group and is actually a badass during battles... but then goes back to acting like an anti-social jerk in other scenes. Until episode 12 everything is quite predictable: fan service, Shu being cool during battles, fanservice, Shu being an useless anti-social jerk hitting on Inori, fanservice, the evil government being evil, fighting, fanservice, Shu being an annoying jerk, Inori being emotionless and pretty, every female falling in love with Shu for no good reason, a beach episode, Gai hitting Shu (high point of the show), Shu being whiny and more fanservice. And then episode 12 turns everything upside down in a bad way, what follows is: the only likeable main character dies, so the viewer is tortured with more Shu and stripper-chan, Shu taking over his high school like some kind of dictator, there is an evil organization called "Daath" that just appears without any explanation and has superpowers or something, scientists apparently find a way to bring dead people back to life but only use it once (what? That's stupid) and a finale battle between good and evil....... SO ORIGINAL!

This anime has one of the most ridiculous stories ever, the best moments in the story were when Shu was suffering or being slapped in his face. I couldn't care less about the characters and there are so many unanswered questions (Like who and what is Daath? How did a certain person come back to life? Why do all this girls fall in love with Shu? Why is Mana evil? Why does a certain person die at the end of the story? If voids are supposed to represent the soul of their owner, why is there a guy with a void that is a damn fridge? How does Shu win the final battle? Why does it take characters 30 seconds to fall of a building? Why do people like this show?)

Also the pacing is just off, sometimes the story is rushed, while at other times there is a whole episode dedicated to visiting a beach. A BEACH, as if this show needed another lazy excuse for fanservice. The plot was inconsistent, filled with plot holes and some of the plot twists don't make sense at all.
[CONCLUSION]
A high-schoolboy meets a girl with a weird hair color by accident, he gets superpowers and the girl turns out to be somewhat supernatural, our high-schoolboy has a harem and joins a terrorist group that's trying to free Japan, there is fanservice and his childhood friend becomes his enemy. I've seen this story somewhere before, it resembles a certain other anime called Code Geass, an anime I didn't love but it was at least ten times as good as this mess.

Lazy writing, horrible characters, fanservice, stupid plot twists, plot holes, pacing problems and a bad ending. This story deserves an award for being mind numbing stupid. Also, every women is portrayed as some kind of stupid sex object that can't do anything else than falling in love and being rescued by men. It's painful to watch!

It's pretty, really pretty. I'm not joking, I loved the art of this show. The battles look fantastic and the backgrounds are detailed. Even the characters look really good and original (this can't be said about their personality), the animators did an amazing job and I hate them for it. Thanks to the beautiful animation and music, I gave this anime a try, thank you animators, thank you.

The opening songs were great. 'My Dearest' and 'The Everlasting Guilty Crown' are both upbeat songs. Supercell deserves all the praise it got, their songs were great and the less upbeat, sad song 'Euterpe' is just as good. The ending songs weren't very spectacular but certainly above average. The background music and sound effects are both fitting and the (Japanese) voice actors did a great job with that horrible script, they made ridiculous lines sound less stupid, which is a great achievement. One problem: now and then there is a j-pop song playing in the background during battles, which is unfitting.

The music and the sounds were great, the voice actors did a good job and aside from some small problems, the sound is good. It's aside from the animation the only good thing that came forth from this mess.

Hahaha my favorite part, our main character is one of the most annoying fictional characters I've ever encountered. Shu is an
unlikable and unpleasant person who spends the first half of the show whining and hitting on an emotionless doll (best main character ever) he has no character development, only personality swaps (I'm a whiny brad, 10 minutes later I'm a badass, 10 minutes later I'm a dictator ruling my school) and speaking of a lack of character development, his girlfriend Inori has no personality to begin with so there is no character development at all. She is an emotionless pretty doll, nothing more and nothing less. We also have Gai who is not the worst character of the bunch (not like that is saying very much), he was bland but at least he had a personality and him hitting Shu in his face was hilarious. The villains are evil for no good reason, Dan Eagleman is my hero (and the most awesome character of this show) and every female is part of Shu's harem or a fanservice object. We still don't know who the guys who are working for Daath are and Mana is just there for the incest vibes.

Well, there is no story to begin with. Our main characters are Italy, Germany and Japan and most of the time they are 'fighting' in World War II, though our main character Italy isn't really fighting, he's just fooling around and interacting with the other countries. And that's it! Though it's quite interesting to see history this way, this anime could have been a lot better if it had a damn story. Also, sometimes it's just pure stupidity, the only way to watch and enjoy this anime is by putting of your brain. So that's exactly what I did and in that case every episode turns into 5 minutes of randomness, gay undertones and sometimes an interesting take on world history, but most of the time it's just jokes and randomness.

After watching this anime, I woke up at 3:00 or so and the very first thing that came to my mind was: 'Marukaite Chikyuu'. If you watch this show, please skip the ending song, because it will haunt you, it's so catchy and silly. And I promise you, if you give this song the chance to sneak into your brain you will regret it forever!
The Japanese voice acting is okay, but the English voice acting is one of the best things I've ever heard. Every country has it's own accent, this is really hilarious. One big problem, our main characters are an Italian, a German and a Japanese guy and their accents may be funny at first but after a while you're done with them.

Shallow, stupid stereotypes, that represent a country.... well, at least the characters are interesting. You have Italy, a weak coward who's stalking his friend Germany, the ultimate tsundere and there is Japan, a guy who seems to have no emotions and is totally done with his European allies. The are the Allies, England, who is superstitious and a horrible cook, America, who believes that his country is the centre of the world and eats way to many hamburgers, Russia, who is creepy, very creepy and China who hits people with his wok pan and builds Chinatowns everywhere and France, a pervert.

This is the main cast, ladies and gentleman, we have to deal with these retards every episode! And if you think those guys are weird enough already, just wait until you meet Belarus, Sealand, South Italy and last but not least Prussia.

Yes, I enjoyed myself while watching this and it changed history lessons into pure comedy. It's stupid, random and there were yaoi-undertones for no good reason, but this anime is a perfect example of 'just put of your brain and enjoy the show'. This anime will not learn you a lot of things about history, but it will changes your view on history forever, but I'm not sure if it changes in a good way....

Also the fandom is one of the worst I've ever encountered, they ship every character in crazy yaoi ships, it's actually really sad.

Should you watch this anime? If you want to keep your brain functioning in the right way, no. If you want to have mindless fun and you have a few hours to waste, yes.

Do you want to see an anime with the worst fillers since Naruto? Do you love characters with so much plot armor that they survive everything? Is an anime with overpowered fire breathing mages, driven by nakamapower your thing? Are you a fan of a heroine whose most significant characteristic is... her boobs (literally, she's useless). This overpraised battle-shounen has been made for you.

This anime has nothing that's original, nothing. It seems to be a combination of One Piece (nakamapower), Naruto (stupid fillers), Highschool DxD (boobs) and a little bit of Mars of Destruction (the awesome and original characters). Our story starts with Lucy ... Heartfilia, who's some weird kind of Pokemon master (with big boobs like we already mentioned). She's not strong. Or smart. Or anything at all. But what she can do, is pretending to be pretty while being saved by her friends. She then meets Natsu, our favorite fire breathing plot-armored motion-sickened retard (seriously, does this guy even have a brain?). He's an annoying combination of Luffy and Naruto. He has one new aspect: motion sickness. He gets a lot of random power-ups because of... well, plot convenience. Natsu is a member of Fairy Tail, a magic guild which only causes trouble, but which hasn't been suspended by the council yet, for some reason (the council is totally useless in this anime anyway). He takes Lucy to Fairy Tail, and she joins their guild. They then embark on a journey to find... Natsu's father. Who's a dragon. (Yes we know, this anime doesn't know logic and it clearly doesn't know the story of the birds and bees either, deal with it) They get into trouble several times, and in each of these a sad past of a Fairy Tail member is revealed. Because if you don't have a sad backstory, you can't join Fairy Tail. Watch our characters take on a much stronger opponent every arc, but still defeating them after a nakama speech. Also, watch some really interesting villains turn good after a battle (seriously, we could give you a ton of examples of this in this anime). And then comes our main villain... Zeref. And watch him... whine? Why is he even here? He doesn't serve any purpose, right? I thought they were looking for dragons? Do they find the dragons? Will Zeref ever stop whining? Watch this anime to find out. Oh wait. You won't find out. Maybe in the sequel, bitch. For real though, the premise of this seems promising. The first arcs were actually okay and the world building was fine, but they decided to use the same formula over and over and OVER again. The pacing was pretty bad at some points too. If the magic had been more interesting and was explained more, it could have been a lot more enjoyable. But after some time, the story just wasn't interesting anymore. It was repetitive, and the characters made no progression in achieving their main goal at all.

The story was weak, and full of nakama power. Just what we needed. It was also repetitive after the fifth arc or so. This anime is so popular, and the fanbase is so large, but why? There are way better shone anime out there, this anime is average at best. The premise was interesting, but everything turned into a mess with our heroes defeating the "extremely powerful" villains over and over and over again... very entertaining, especially after the tenth time.

The art of this show is pretty good. It looks like a magical shounen anime's animation. Exactly what it is. The animation changed over the years, the animation of the first episodes is really different from the animation of the last episodes. Especially the character designs of the women, their boobs grew every 10 episodes or so. Great job creators, is this show aimed at horny teens or something? The animation is colorful, and let's be honest, the battles look pretty awesome now and then. The animation isn't very special, it's quite generic, but not ugly.

Fairy, where are you going... Yeah. Most of the openings in this anime were pretty decent (and catchy too). They were a bit too happy to our liking though. But you shouldn't rely on our opinion too much, taste in music is very subjective after all. The OST's in this anime were actually good. They matched the scenes and they were easily recognizable as Fairy Tail OST's. The endings were okay too, though nothing special.

~Characters~ 2/10
This cast is so original. Nope. We have an overpowered, nakama motivated, plot-armored hero and he has a cute animal as a sidekick. The main heroine is weaker than the main hero (again: so original), she also has big boobs (this is like the 847394th time we're saying this) and she is constantly saved by everyone. She also gets a lot of random power-ups, because this is a generic magic battle shounen. We also have Gray, Natsu's rival... VERY original. Oh, and before we forget: he likes stripping, because man service is exactly what this show lacked. Yes, this cast sucks. But then there's our savior Erza. Oh wait, no. She's a tsundere who always fights with the main characters. But then she also has a sweet side and has a weird obsession for cake. And last but not least, a cute loli, who is totally useless: Wendy. She has one of the most annoying sidekicks ever: Charles. There are a few interesting characters (hence the 2/10), e.g.: Mirajane, Gajeel and Laxus. But they didn't get a lot of screen time, and the rest of the characters were just generic and boring.
And may I have your attention for... the worst cast of villains ever created! Our first serious villain turns out to be Gray's adopted brother and... turns good. Our second villain didn't turn good, but his henchmen did. Welcome to Fairy Tail, Gajeel and Juvia. Our third villain actually kills someone... and turns good after that. And the guy we're talking about REFUSES to die, because he just keeps appearing. Another villain, Laxus... also turned good. It's not even funny anymore. Oh, yeah, we almost forgot about the main villain: Zeref. Who's a whiny retard that does absolutely nothing in these 175 episodes. Worst villains ever.

Hahaha. This cast is so bland and boring. We didn't care at all about these generic characters. And the villains are on a whole new level of stupidity; everyone turns good (or in a love interest). This cast is really bad, the only characters that were well-developed were Mirajane and Elfman (the problems with getting over a certain traumatic experience), but this show is called Fairy Tail, so the makers decided to bring a certain person back. Good job!

Especially during the first arcs, this show was quite enjoyable. The story was neither deep nor really interesting, but the jokes were funny, and over-all it just was something light to watch. But when the story progressed, it got so repetitive. A simple repetitive story + horrible characterization = Fairy Fail. (Sorry, I couldn't contain myself) However, we do disagree with those who scored this show a 1/10, because that's not fair. This show definitely isn't good, but it's not a 1/10 when it's below average. It has some promising concepts and the animation and music were decent. It's just that it could have been so much more. However, we disagree with both the diehard fans and the diehard haters.

This could have been good, if it didn't get so repetitive. But it is what it is: an under-average boring magical battle shounen. If you love this genre, or dislike good anime, then you might like this show, but if you prefer something with decent characters and a good story, then watch something else (some personal recommendations: Fullmetal Alchemist, HunterxHunter, Gintama). So please know that you'll be wasting your time if your expectations of this show are high. It's your own time, so we can't tell you what to do, but we recommend you to not watch this anime filled with boobs, nakama motives and blue flying cats. Peace.

Some anime have zombies. Others have witches. This show has a set of perverted sadistic blood-sucking handsome supposed-to-be-vampires. I've said it. This show reminded me of a horrible Twilight fan fiction, written by a masochistic (and also very horny) woman. I can imagine only two kinds of people who would like this show. The first one is a group of men who love to see women suffering and being inferior to men. The second kind is, like I already mentioned, masochistic women. If you're part of any of these cliques, I'm sure you'll love this show. If not, do me (but above all, yourself) a ... favor and ignore this piece of garbage. Why is this show so hideous? Stay tuned.

Is there a story? I had difficulty explaining this aspect of the show in this review, but I tried my best. The main character is our ultra-brave heroine Yui Komori. One day, her father sends her as a religious sacrifice to the Sakamaki brothers' mansion. Why? Nobody knows, and no one probably ever will. Great parenting, right? What Yui doesn't know, is that her new fellow "brothers" are six vampires. What a shock! But instead of trying to run away, or trying to call the police (or maybe even the vampire version of the ghost busters) to come and capture them, she stays! Because, guess what? She tries to reason with six guys, who could totally vampire-gangbang her any moment, even though it's completely obvious that they are NEVER going to listen to her. She even stays after these guys have sucked her blood. She even goes to some sort of vampire school, which (for some reason) has never been discovered by the commoners, with them. That's basically the story. A chick with no brains who gets vampire-raped multiple times. Fun, right? I'll list some more plotholes. Even though this girl gets her blood sucked out of her multiple times a day, she has NEVER shown any serious severe blood loss symptoms. Even Twilight was more realistic at this aspect! At least they almost let Bella die when Edward Sparkles drank her blood. Just what kind of magical creature, who apparently doesn't need her blood, is she? Oh wait, I almost forgot. A magical creature who apparently doesn't need her blood and can see ghosts as well. Why can she see ghosts, you ask? No good reason, other than the one that she gets to see the sad backstories of the perverted vampires. Why does she get to see the ghost of their mother? Why does that ghost take over Yui's body? Why does the mother's ghost KISS her own son in the body of a random chick? I. Have. No. Idea. I'm completely lost.

The "story" basically consists of vampire porn scenes. That's all this is. There is no story.

Yes, I know, the art is really pretty. A pretty girl with a harem of good-looking bishounen. A lot of pretty colors. Looks like it's a high quality show. That's exactly why I clicked on this damn trash. And that's exactly how the director (also known as satan) lures you into this anime (also known as hell). DON'T FALL FOR IT. You'll waste 3 hours of your precious time. And for what? Vampire porn. I won't deny that the art is good, because it is, but please. Do you really want to watch a show about vampire rapists sucking a brainless zombie's blood because it has some pretty colors?

I guess the sound of this show could have been considered as okay, if it fitted the show. Why does an anime about sadistic vampire rapists have church OSTs? The only thing I can understand is why the opening is called 'MR. SADISTIC NIGHT', except that it should be called 'MR. SADISTIC BLOOD-SUCKING PERVERTED VAMPIRE RAPIST'. The ending is mediocre. I'm not too positive about this aspect of the show, although it's one of the best parts of it.

Haha, this should be fun. I'll work all the main characters out for you.
Starting off with our main character, Yui Komori. Let me just get this out there: she got absolutely no character development. She started off as a brainless masochist, and guess how she ended up? A brainless masochist. I'm quite open-minded, so when I started watching this, I immediately saw opportunities. I mean, imagine what the directors could have done with her... They could have turned her in a vampire-slaying yandere, or at least have let her escape the mansion and be the starter of a humans vs vampire war. But nope, none of this happened. I should have been the director of this. Actually, on second thought, no, I shouldn't have been. I would have been way too ashamed of myself if I'd came up with this. I'm already ashamed enough that I've watched it.
Well, I don't really have anything else to say about this useless walking corpse.
Moving on to our six perverted vampires.
Meet the eldest Sakamaki brother, Shuu, who is basically living the dream, because during most of the anime, he is asleep. How does he spend his waking hours? By laying down on a couch, or in a bath tub, or sucking Yui's blood while laying down. Interesting character.
Then there's Reiji, the stereotypical smart guy, who loves reading books, drinking tea and sucking Yui's blood while poisoning her with some weird tea.
Here comes my personal favorite: Kanato. Just kidding, I don't have a favorite. And even if I had, it wouldn't be a creepy 12-year old, who looks like he's suffering from the worst insomnia ever and who stabs the living shit out of his potatoes while laughing like a psychopath.
Then there's the most perverted one of them all: Raito. Also known as the guy with the hat. Or as the guy with the most awkward laugh ever. Seriously, when I heard his laugh, I cringed so hard. I didn't know whether I should laugh or cry.
Then the potential savior of the show: Subaru! He approached Yui, telling her she should run away from the mansion. He even gave her a silver knife to stab the vampires. Just when I thought Yui was going to start the vampire massacre by stabbing Subaru first: nope. He sucked her blood. And she let it happen. My minuscule faith in this show was shattered.
And finally, the worst one of them all. Ayato. The guy who does not only suck Yui's blood, but also sees her as his possession. And as if that wasn't bad enough, he also came up with a nickname for the main character that is so offensive that I almost threw my computer out of my window.
Well, that's basically your cast. Excluding some psychopathic ghosts who seem important at first, but end up adding nothing to the show at all. Even though it couldn't have been saved anyway.

One of the worst female leads ever, and some of the weirdest harems ever. Like I've said a dozen times already: just don't watch this.

I don't know how you'll feel when watching this show. You may burst out laughing, you may start crying (whether it be of laughter or of depression). You may feel like throwing up (like I did) or like you want to beat the shit out of basically all characters in the show (like I did). What you WILL think after watching this, is "why did I spend 3 hours of my life watching this?". Because that's what this show is. A waste of time. A waste of money. A waste of capacity on websites. But above all, this show is a wrecking ball that will DESTROY your faith in equal rights for men and women. That's what this show did to me. Because I didn't just hate this show. This show even managed to make me feel personally offended as a female. And that doesn't happen often. This show, however, pulled my inner feminist out. Some may see that as an accomplishment, but I see it as something to be very, very ashamed of.
