Shangri-La Frontier is good, not great. It spends a lot of time on Sunraku, the main character, but fails to engage deeper with other characters. The story is relatively nonexistent, and the final episode of season 1, left me shaking my head. With 25 episodes to cook, you should be able to muster up something of significance in terms of plot, and character/character development. There is only one part of the season that gets that right. This is around episode 17 if I remember correctly, and then after that, we get the remainder of the season, with no plot, and
...
no direction towards what we will be expecting in season 2. It is very shallow and uninspired in the directing of this season. After finishing Undead Unluck, and then finishing Shangri La, it is night and day, when it comes to developing story and characters. They are both 20 ish episodes, but Undead Unluck uses every episode to develop its story and characters. Shangri La fails miserably at this. On the brighter side of things, it has great animation, and sound design, and arguably the best OP/OPs of the season.
Animation 10/10
- Great fight scenes, character animation and detail, one of the bright spots of this anime.
Sound 10/10
- Sick OP 1 and 2, great EDs, Great sound design throughout the anime.
Story 5/10
- The story is nearly nonexistent, the premise is a kid who plays trash games, and exploits their bugs to become OP, but that kind of game play isn't really emphasized in the game Shangri La. Sunraku does use an exploit at the very end of the series, but it has no impact. Beyond that, the story is about learning the world of Shangri La and taking down the Colossi, but again, this aspect of the season is nonexistent for most of the season. The end of season 1 leaves much to desire.
Character 6/10
- Despite enjoying the characters, I feel like Psyger0 is completely ignored, and we only get crumbs from everyone else. I wanted more cohesion between the supporting cast, but we get mostly a journey with Sunraku and Emul instead.
Enjoyment 9/10
- Looked forward to watching it week to week, and in general, enjoyed it as one of the anime you can turn your brain off and just enjoy, despite its flaws.
If you enjoy the MMORPG anime genre, then you might like Shangri La. Unfortunately, that's the only swath of anime viewer I can recommend this to.

At first glance when the trailer dropped for Undead Unluck, I had initially written it off. It seemed unique though, and that stuck with me. 4 weeks into its airing, I saw good reception, so I gave it a shot. I can now say It was worthy of watching after having just completed the first season. First and foremost, it's a 24-episode season, no pauses. God bless David Production for directing this properly. The first season has proper story building and leaves the viewer with anticipation to the continuation of this story. The series has proper time to develop
...
both story and characters and has an intriguing premise and development of negators on both sides of the conflict. This is how you do anime properly.
Animation 9/10
- The animation isn't the best of the best, but it does a lot right, both in action scenes and stationary scenes. Overall, it is done really well.
Sound 9/10
- Good OP/EDs with great sound design throughout, and good VA work.
Story 8/10
- Not the most complex of a story, but it does story telling right. The story deepens and gets better, eventually ending the season with an anticipatory conflict of factions, that I look forward to in the future.
Characters 9/10
- Unique characters throughout, heartwarming background stories, that drive emotion. One fodder character early in the season is a good example of how great the character development is. When a write off character can make you emotional, it is proof the writer gets character development. I really like Andy and Fuukos' budding relationship. It may seem aggressive at first, but it slowly molds into something genuine.
Enjoyment 10/10
- Had I waited to binge this in one shot, I would have. I did it in 4 mini binges because I knew I couldn't just watch this week to week.
Even as I write the review, I am contemplating this and that, and I realized writing, that this series was a lot better than I thought. I can't wait to see s2. I recommend this to anime fans in general. I feel this is kind of a hidden gem.

Ore dake Level Up na Ken does just enough to be enjoyable, but due to being a 12-episode season/cour, it fails to establish much of anything. This is basically just leveling for 12 episodes. It establishes a basic plot, introduces a premise, organizations involved, and does little with it. The most intriguing storyline of the season involved a "revenge" arc, that gets immediately postponed until a later date. Instead of going down that storyline, we just get leveling. Then, by the end of the season, we get 0 cliffhanger. I don't understand this directing decision. I hate cours,
...
or 12 episode seasons for this very reason. We are taught in grade school how to have an introduction, a middle, and an end. When it comes to releasing anime, studios think it's fine to leave a season on its own with no anticipation for what's next. This is strange because episode to episode, there are cliffhangers. So, for me, it's a strange way to do things. People shit on Tower of God for many reasons, but Tower of God does its season 1 ending correctly. There is 1 character in this anime. It is fun to follow the progress of Jin-Woo, but again, the 12 episode timeline for a season doesn't help in character developments. We know of, and see very little from all sub characters, despite them being interesting characters in my opinion. This should have been a 24 episode season. You have to let your anime cook, you can't just put a pie in an oven, and take it out 5 minutes later.
Animation 9/10
- Solid baseline animation, with good fight animations/scenes.
Sound 7/10
- Good sound design for fights, OP/ED are kind of meh.
Story 5/10
- The season introduces many interesting aspects of the world, but fails to establish a proper conflict, in the end giving us just 12 episodes of solo leveling, which is fine, but lacking.
Characters 6/10
- Jin-Woo is an ok MC, but nothing stood out to me, and I find his IQ to be a problem. He does things to humans and has no thoughts regarding the consequences of those actions. The anime fails to address the conflict of human vs human in a proper way for how this world works. With 24 episodes, it probably would have.
Enjoyment 9/10
- Binged it, it was very enjoyable, but I have my qualms.
My suggestion, to those who have not watched this yet is to wait. Let AI finish a second season/cour at the very least.

Chiyu Mahou no Machigatta Tsukaikata is a simple isekai, with more to give, I feel. Hopefully it returns for season 2 to allow this plot some time to cook. The story doesn't do much in this season, but I felt intrigued still by the end of season 1, and can see potential for the series, if it's done correctly. If it is just demons vs humans, then it won't reach that potential. If it begins to world build beyond that premise, then we have a chance. I definitely want to see more, as I enjoyed the training, and character growth.
Animation
...
7/10
- There are peaks and valleys, it's nothing to write home about but not bad either.
Sound 7/10
- Good OP, the rest of the sound design is just par for the course.
Story 4/10
- Story is nearly nonexistent, or very shallow at the moment.
Character 7/10
- I like the characters, and enjoyed Osato's character growth, and the addition of Felm.
Enjoyment 10/10
- This was easy watching for me. I watched it week to week and looked forward to it every week. Looking forward for a s2.
Well, it isn't Redo of Healer, for better or for worse. If you are interested in healing powers used for offense, you might like it, give it a shot.

In general, this final chapter is not a masterpiece like many say it is. It is also, not a bad final act, like many 1/10 reviews would have you believe it is. This is just middle of the road good entertainment. Like S4 p1 and p2, I have issues with this act, but I'm not going to trash the anime over those issues. S3p2 is the height of the series IMO, and season 4 just doesn't match that quality. That is okay though. This is a nearly 100 episode anime, so expectations should be subdued, as imo long anime
...
will always have problems.
Animation 10/10
- Top quality, as expected.
Sound 10/10
- Great sound design and BGM.
Story 6/10
- These 2 eps are just a conclusion to an action anime, so the story is what it is.
Characters 7/10
- I have had issues with S4 characters and their development.
Enjoyment 6/10
- Watchable, but for me personally, S4 was a downgrade.
I recommend it, if you're down for the grind.

Season 4 overall was fine. It kept my interest at least to not drop it. Unfortunately, there are more heel/babyface turns than an AEW episode of Dynamite. The wishy washy ideals of the main cast are annoying. I don't believe it makes any sense either. One thing I can praise, is, at least they had enemies. Could you imagine if they didn't? How stupid would that be?...
I feel the show glosses over things too, inserts new details, then doesn't flesh these new additions out. This part near the end really drops the action, and that too annoyed
...
me. Going into the last episode, I wasn't expecting half the episode to be fluff...but it was. Ultimately, I was invested so, the annoyances were not immersion breaking. After now seeing part 1, 2 and 3 I can safely say season 3 was peak AoT.
Animation 10/10
- There is a lack of action in this part, but the quality of the animation is back on par after the minor problems I had with part 1 animation.
Sound 10/10
- Insane OP/ED with the quality sound design we've come to expect from this series.
Story 7/10
- I personally have nitpicks but ultimately the show is seamless in telling its story. One can't deny AoT is a great war story.
Characters 6/10
- I take issue with the lack of insight characters tend to have in S4. Like I said earlier, at least they had enemies.
Enjoyment 7/10
- I have nitpicks, but it's not as if I didn't binge it, so pretty good overall.
Reflecting on the entirety of the show, I think it's worth the investment. AoT is not the GOAT, but it is a quality anime to put 30 ish hours towards.

Shingeki no Kyojin: The Final Season Part 1 is a solid stanza of the story. It has some good action to start off and spends the majority of time developing the story. It is not as good as S3p2, but I wasn't expecting it to be. However, there is definitely a step down in quality when it comes to the overall production. I have just watched about half of S4p2 and it is back to a high quality look compared to S4p1. This is a very small nitpick of what is a good season overall.
Animation 8/10
- Solid, but some
...
frames look wonky.
Sound 7/10
- Mid OP/ED, but good sound design otherwise.
Story 9/10
- Good story telling
Characters 7/10
- Solid overall, great characters, with good development
Enjoyment 7/10
- It's easy to binge, but not as great as s3p2.
Recommended in general, a good war story for those who enjoy such.

Let's get one thing out of the way. What was that last episode? The cursed horse image strikes again. Let's skip the content of this season and show Itadori clapping his hands... KEWWWWWLLL. Just garbage. This season was all fights, no character development or plot to be frank. I'm all for fights, but there needs to be a balance to get a 9/10. The MAL fandom bias strikes again. This is not a 9/10, sorry. It's mid. The animation is good, and then it's not. The deaths are so irrelevant and have 0 emotional
...
value to them. This is not good writing. That's the crux. They will try to be hip by doing another piece of the cursed horse image, but it won't change the fact that JJK is poorly written, or poorly executed by MAPPA. Whatever the case, I'm left disappointed.
Animation 9/10
- Its great at times, and horrific at times. Its better most times than not.
Sound 9/10
- JJK does its sound design very well, not a fan of the OP/ED
Story 2/10
- Its hardly present, yes, we all get what they are trying to achieve, but it's just shallow.
Characters 7/10
- Love all the characters design and unique fighting abilities and such, but the character deaths are hollow, and the character developments are few and far between.
Enjoyment 7/10
- The season could have been so much better. Attention to detail from animation to story, to characters, all could have been better. Maybe that is just how the manga did it, and MAPPA is working with what they got, whatever it is, its flawed.
If you like fights, there's some fights to enjoy. I don't feel like JJK season 2 is a must watch.

Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute! 2nd Season is very similar to season 1, but with less action. I wasn't let down, since season 1 to me was mid as well, but I expected more from season 2. Action scenes were scarce, and the plot was kind of disinteresting. The last episode did do things right though. Cliff hangers are a must in order to keep my interest, and the way the last episode was done was interesting. I can't hate on the show too much, nor give it much praise, Shadow is just one of those animes that make you
...
say, "it is what it is". If the ending of season 2 is an introduction to a more expansive story with more stakes than there are currently, then I think the show will get better. Hopefully it goes in that direction.
Animation 8/10
- It's nice, both stationary scenes and action scenes are done well.
Sound 8/10
- Good sound design, sfx are great, edge to the characters from VA, OP ED not that great.
Story 4/10
- Not great, boring at points, but the last episode did spark my interest.
Characters 7/10
- With only 12 episodes, I feel we missed out on much of any character developments, aside from 666. I do enjoy the characters, just wish there was more to them or their ambition.
Enjoyment 7/10
- Didn't hate it, didn't love it, just mid.
It's something to watch if you don't value your time so much. The series as a whole has good qualities, but it is not a series to expect greatness from.

Goblin Slayer: Goblin's Crown is garbage. I enjoyed season 1, but this was a movie, right? Where is the movie quality? The animation is the same, the story is even worse than season 1. Goblin Slayer seems less of a bad ass than season 1, and the characters are less relevant than even in the first season. This is just a complete downgrade from season 1, and really does not motivate me to watch season 2. This is a waste of everyone's time. Zero passion in your work results in garbage like this.
Animation 7/10
- Solid animation, but
...
little to no action scenes worth a damn. Disappointing.
Sound 6/10
- Again, this is a movie, where is the production value here? Nonexistent. Sound aspects is passable.
Story 1/10
- Essentially a short story that I couldn't give 2 shits about. Garbage.
Characters 3/10
- Somehow the party is less enjoyable than the first season, and Goblin Slayer is essentially a side character. I'm confused.
Enjoyment 3/10
- A waste of time
I can't recommend this to even Goblin Slayer enthusiasts.
