I've just recently discovered the wonderful world of japan/anime/manga, and can't get enough of it.
Started learning japanese. Much to learn, not enough time, but I'll get there.
Ah, Interstellar. That's nice. A lot of people are talking about it. I've heard that it's a good movie, but the physics in it are really messed up. Apparently the water doesn't recede when the wave comes or something... haha. How was it?
No problem! I hope you like them. In fact, if you get around to watching some of them, let me know which ones you like/dislike, and maybe I can suggest a couple more.
Oh, also, I forgot... if you end up liking Mech series and also Death Note, try Code Geass - it's a great Mech show with some interesting drama, and the main character gains a power similar to how Light in Death Note gains a supernatural ability via the Death Note.
I noticed you were watching Clannad. That's one of my favorites, so I hope you like it. I think the second season (Clannad After Story) is even better.
Another great series by the same creators is Kanon (the 2006 version).

Here are some recommendations:
Since you like Cowboy Bebop and Black Lagoon, I recommend checking out Trigun and Outlaw Star.
If you also want to see some Mech anime that is more than just Mech fighting, try Full Metal Panic and Neon Genesis Evangelion.
If you also like anime that's more intellectual than just action, also check out Death Note and Monster.
