In summary, the special episode was a nice addition, but the overall feeling is that it could have offered more to enrich the fan experience and the overall story - it feels more like a reminder that the franchise exists, rather than an added element. vitally important. Evangelion, one of the most iconic and cherished franchises in the world of anime and entertainment, has left a profound mark on the hearts of its followers. Faced with the anticipation surrounding its latest movie, I decided to dive into it with great interest. Although I wanted to highlight positive aspects, I find it difficult to do so, as the movie seems to be a faithful recapitulation of the events from the anime, with some additional scenes and subtle visual improvements being the only "notable" changes.

However, the narrative suffers being presented in a confusing order, making comprehension challenging. And while I know that the ... franchise is full of symbolism and stuff that are more emotional than logical, in this case, I can say that the order of the scenes doesn't feel justified.

Personally, I felt that my time wasn't rewarded, as the movie failed to bring a new perspective or depth to the episodes that the anime offers to the viewer. Despite the extra scenes, I can't ignore the feeling of disappointment and the impression that the movie is a waste of time. If you're a fan of the anime, you might find yourself questioning whether this movie truly adds value to the overall experience (long story short: NO)

The only reason I'm not giving it a terrible rating is because the anime is excellent, and practically the entire movie consists of the anime itself. However, when considering that it's a separate film, that's where I`m afraid that I have to lower the rating.

Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu tells a story that, while not particularly innovative, manages to keep its audience entertained. Both leads are charismatic and easily likable. At first glance, the main character Ichikawa is kind of annoying, but as the story progresses, you can see his emotional development, which is not often seen in other anime/manga.

The partner Yamada is also funny and cute, showing great interest in Ichikawa. She cares about him and you can see a beautiful friendship develop as both characters grow and mature. She's a very compelling character in her own right, and since she's so different from her friends, they ... complement each other amazingly.

The story has moments of tenderness, a bit of lighthearted drama, touches of comedy, and those brief, cliché moments typical of rom-coms that aren't really annoying but are funny.

As for the animation, it's not particularly noteworthy, but it serves its purpose and is of good quality; I haven't had a chance to read the manga, so I don't know how much respect they have for the author's drawing style. If you're looking for a cute anime to hang out with, I definitely recommend this one!

The characters are nice, the music is perfect, it combines perfectly with what happens, especially at the end, the animation is not exactly something spectacular, but it perfectly fulfills its objective. . I feel this film will be one that I will cherish dearly.

Second review: Having seen both movies

Despite having suspected that the flashbacks and "different" scenes shown in the movie were from the parallel world, it's satisfying to see how everything fits nicely together. I honestly believe that the best possible decision is to see this movie first and then the other one, although I must say that this one feels much deeper than the other one, a conflict is better presented, it is much more dramatic and interesting, it also explains more about the parallel universes and their travel mechanics. The fact of separating both films seems correct to me, but I do not think that the viewer should be suggested to "watch it in the order they want", if they had seen the other film first and then this one, they would have understood, but it would not have changed much either. Both films are good, with a good concept, although not exactly innovative. However, I think they are perfectly entertaining and easy to warm to.

There is an adaptation of this story made by Hollywood, so finding out that the source material is actually a Japanese light novel, I became very interested. So, I read the manga, and before I say how great the story is, I'll start with what I liked the most: the BEAUTIFUL artwork.
