Okay, I dropped this only five episodes in because it was so predictable in storywriting, and its character trope. For those that don't know Kabuki is a dramatic Japanese theater play meant to be outlandish and downright erratic. It's one of Japan's most popular forms of playwright and has been around for hundreds of years.
If you want to learn a bit about kabuki, then this anime would give you some pointers about it. But if you're looking for a decent story involving it, you may have to wait longer on that. The story is cliche, following a generic looking boy who loves kabuki maybe

a little too much, and he ends up making a club for it. Here's come the part where it starts to become cringy. When it comes to kabuki, you're supposed to be doing exaggerated acting and display it loudly for your audience.
The guy does this...out in public, with no context or warning. Maybe its due to my Western culture, but anyone doing stuff like that in public gives me second-hand embarassment. I'm not sure how the Japanese handles things like this, but I wouldn't think clapping and cheering would be one of them.
As for the characters, well, there's nothing to say. They're just typical tropes that aren't really explored or expanded on. There's your "I'm a professional kabuki, why should I join an amateur club?" character, there's your "i'm a girl, but I wanna play kabuki even though its male only" character, the "i'm a popular lover boy" character, etc. There's nothing really interesting about them.
I dropped this show five episodes in after seeing the main character (boring, brown hair guy whose only personality is liking kabuki) faint and then everyone has to pitch in to save the play because that is just what he wanted.
If you like kabuki a lot like that guy, then be my guest. Otherwise, maybe check around for other things. (As I written this review, the anime is oddly only viewable on Prime, and some random streaming site.)

The very first movie of one of the most escalated shounen anime rising in popularity that was hyped up. People in the BNHA fanbase were excited for it, even I was into thinking it'll be great, but was unable to purchase the movie because of money issues. I just so happened to find a copy in the college library I work at and decided to check it out myself after waiting for so long to do so on a weekend night.
And in a way, I was disappointed to some extent.
What is my issue you might ask? Why am I, who consider myself a BNHA fan,

be annoyed with how this movie was played? Well, here's why...

Story [5]: Okay, the story was a rough 5-6 score point for me. Yes, the story is not meant to be a solid canon to the BNHA main storyline, but at the same time, it's pretty forgettable. It doesn't have a storyline that hasn't been done before in other shounen stories. Defeat some big bad villain and win the day. The only reason that the main villain in the whole story is really there is because of the canon villain in the main storyline. The thing with the main storyline villains that we are introduced to have character development and backstories. That would be extremely difficult to accomplish in a movie timeframe, I agree. But our main villain in the movie is just cheesy. He doesn't really have a real goal besides snatching a person and an item before bolting off somewhere. The 'plot twists' in the movie are predictable, especially if you have watched other shounen movies or even just movies in general before.
All the characters we know in the main storyline or are introduced to in the movie are just...there. They have no real purpose besides to set up the movie's storyline. They are there with the lamest of excuses. Only our main protagonist and his mentor appear to have a swell purpose in there throughout the movie. It's just a coincidence that they're all there. Instead of this, they should've just brought in all the classmates and say it was a school trip or something. But then they'd have to spend more of a budget for this movie with more voice actors coming in, character drawings, etc. You wanna know what pissed me off the most? When the characters are looking at each other, they for some reason have some sort of telepathic understanding of what the other wants from them. What??? It would be as pointless if there was nothing being said that whole time of just staring at each other! Was there something I miss in the main storyline that where the characters all learn this telepathic communication thing with just their eyes? Was there someone telepathic in the midst something letting them do that? I don't understand!
But it would've been more worth the time to push this movie out, right? It's rather obvious the movie was created just for a cash grab with a plot this stiff;
Sorry for the rant there, but here's the plot of it; main protag comes in with his mentor and coincidentally, meets some of his classmates there. They do some stuff together, happy happy, and then the big bad villain comes in to sh*t on their parade. Big bad villain takes down main protag's badass mentor with some other heroes and its up to the main protag to kick his ass with his classmates, get the girl (who won't matter after this movie), and get that happy, pointless ending.
That's the plot. Mediocre is a real good title for the score point.
Art [7]: The art's pretty alright. It holds up to it's main storyline's art. It holds true to the character designs. But I can notice even on my first movie watch that there are animation and drawing errors when characters do something such as running together. Other times, there's CGI... Yeah, that's a tough thing to work with on a 2D animation level. It's not the worst. But it's definitely not Ghost in the Shell levels. One of the obstacles that the characters have to face is so simple and bland-looking that I question why it was even CGI-made to begin with. Only part I thought was ideal to use CGI on was at the very end of the movie due to the complicated nature of what was going on.
I think they could've worked more on the animation progress than what they did, but otherwise, it could've worked off as a typical BNHA episode's level of design, if they throw away the CGI junk.
Sound [7]: BNHA's music is amazing. Always so inspiring to hear and almost never do I skip the opening or endings of each main storyline episode I watch with them. Hearing them again in this movie is none the worse. I expected to have new music though at least and not just revised orchestra themed versions, but hey, I already admitted to knowing this movie was just a cash grab. But otherwise, the music is okay when it is there. Otherwise, it's silent and feels somewhat empty whenever something is happening.
Character [4]: HAHAHAHAHA- This is the fun part. The characters we're introduced to are downright cheap and lazy. As I said, it's hard to get a character developed in a matter of a movie's timeframe, but seriously, one of the new characters are absolutely not even important to have. They're there, because...they're there. They are an addition to some backpiece to the mentor's backstory, but otherwise, they could've been pressed off into some manga chapter or slowly formed in the main storyline over time, not in a movie. The unimportant character, named Melissa, has only one purpose in the whole storyline; to help the main protag get back control of the highjacked island that was taken by the big bad villain.
She has no quirk, relating to Midoriya, our main protag. I can see why she was made; just as a romantic option for Midoriya to squeeze in on. They made it obvious that way when all the convenience female classmates that end up there express their jealousy in the beginning when Midoriya is hanging out with Melissa. Since when did they have hots for him besides Uraraka, our bubbly, gravity-free girl? What was the point? If you took Melissa out of the picture, I wouldn't even notice. We already have good based female characters who know what they're doing in a way of hero's work. Midoriya was willing to risk a life of a quirkless girl who was only there to shut down a system. How does she even know how the system works? Did her father make the system? Did she work with security before? That's like a random citizen of a country just knowing how to bypass their government's system. Really cheap. At least she made this boss invention for Midoriya to use to help him succeed, but surprise surprise, he breaks it and he never will use it again, unless somehow, some reason, she decides to remake it for him to use that won't break each time he uses it.
As for her father who has the North American name Dave, because he is from the United States after all, is in relation to All Might, Midoriya's mentor's, backstory as the dude who just stuck around with him. He was saved by All Might, is quirkless like his daughter, and decided to go into the scientific field to invest his time with All Might as a way to thank him and save lives with him, even if indirect. Dave made this certain device for All Might as to improve his heroism, only to have it taken away due to governmental issues with it. He has an assistant named Sam, who betrays him later in the movie, who holds no purpose EITHER besides just handing the device to the big bad villain. He just wanted money for the device even after working all these years with Dave. Talk about worthless loyalty being as worthless as the character.
The big, bad villain I've been talking about? Don't even know his name. Maybe the movie said it somewhere. I don't know, but I certainly don't remember it. I recall the guy having scars all over his face, who had a hyped up reveal throughout the movie, but other than that, he was just another villain with a mask on who was a goon for an actually interesting main villain in the main storyline. Hilarious they only had the main villain's voice actor come in for like, one line only. So the main villain used the device against Midoriya and his friends, but with great spirit, saves the day with his mentor with his trademark b*tch punch power.
The new characters were bland, while the old characters were stale. They were just there. That's the whole damn movie; the characters are there because they are.
Enjoyment [6]: It was your typical shounen anime movie plotline. It's not bad, but it wasn't something that would make you remember the movie. You could've even not watch the movie at all and just stick with the main anime storyline (or manga's) and nothing would change. The movie really was a cash grab. It was a time mover if you have nothing better to do, but isn't something to spend a whole lot of money on unless you wish to complete your BNHA collection. At least you can brag to any friends willing to listen that you have the copy that you probably won't watch ever again.
Overall [6]: I averaged it out to a 6. Like I said, the movie isn't BAD per say, but not a masterpiece you would want to watch over and over again. Hopefully the next movie they're spawning out at the time I've written this review fix the mistakes this movie made into making something far better than what was given.

I'm going to be honest with you. This anime...was boring to me. It really was. It was cliche and predictable to me. When I heard that this anime was going into a sad, deep topic of suicide and black companies, I was down to it, believing the anime will do such a topic justice, especially since suicide and black companies are somewhat a common theme in a hard-working economy such as Japan. I tried to like the anime. But it was dragging to me and I dropped it for a while and when I decided to finish the last few episodes, it felt like a

chore to me. Maybe Slice-Of-Life anime isn't for me? I don't know. I wasn't able to relate with the characters on this, I just couldn't. I wonder if the web novel is possibly better than this, but because of what I've experienced as an anime, I don't feel motivated to bother with going into reading it. Onto the review. [Spoiler Alert]
Story [5/10] The story was boring to me. It dragged and felt like a waste of time. The conflicts weren't relatable at all. I know people experience different things and such, but on a level I tried to see, the aspects didn't feel that you could understand it. Each episode is just another boring drama after another and the characters all have the cliche '-dere' type going. To be honest, seeing the same set of personalities multiple of times in anime tends to make one feel...irritated?
Art [7/10] The art is not bad, I'll give it that. The art style has its own signature and looks rather beautiful. Could've been more special though, in my opinion. I don't have much to say on this part.
Sound [5/10] SO. MUCH. PIANO!!! Don't get me wrong, I like piano. The piano matched the atmosphere of this whole setting. Feels...aesthetic, ha ha ha. Though, it could've added more flavor, if you know what I mean. The music could've had more emotion in it, to be quite honest.
Character [6/10] The characters felt ok in their '-dere' format. Wish they had more personality to them. They had one trait each as I notice. They could've been worked more on, to be fairly honest. But what could I expect from a 13 episode show? Unlike Bleach or Naruto, this show didn't have the time whatsoever to develop anything special. Not every show has the chance of getting noteworthy time.
Enjoyment [3/10] Like I said, I didn't enjoy this anime truly. It was boring to me. Maybe its because its just a Slice-Of-Life issue? I'm usually more into action-packed, fantasy-like stories. I need something to keep me connected to the anime or else I'll start numbing it out. For an anime that begins on the issue of taking a pill from some random stranger on the streets and then becoming a teenager the next day heading to school again, it didn't really set on the fantasy issue too much. The idea of going back and changing your decisions isn't too new, but there are anime out there that could do it right as I know. This anime had set itself on some dark issues and didn't really push into it too much. I would've like more talk on the issue of suicide and black companies that exist in Japan and is certainly a big issue at the moment. But due to it being a 13 episode show, it was possibly hard to do that, unfortunately.
Overall [5/10] I know that the anime can stand on its own. Maybe I would've enjoyed the anime more if I paced myself instead of forcing myself an episode a day or two. This anime was a drag for me. It's not the worst, but its not the best either. Nothing's ever perfect, you know? If the anime moved more on the level of more bigger drama, I might've been more interested? I don't know.
What I can say in the end of this review is, everyone has different opinions. I am surprise that this anime was well-liked among people. I wish I could've enjoyed it myself, but I didn't, unfortunately. Maybe you as a reader could find more interest in the anime than I did. Don't take my word or much of anyone else's. We got insane fanboys/fangirls that would give 10 on something with little much substance in a review, and then we got people with putting 1 on reviews and not give much information. You got a mix of people and in the end, only you can see for yourself what the anime is like.

Alright, just to point out, this manga is a very short read, and with that, its rushed into story and gets to the point. I like that since I get impatient when it comes to storytelling most of the time. Now to my review...
Story [6/10] || The story isn't too bad. It's actually a different story each chapter or so as I notice. But because of how rushed it is, I get confused about who's who and what's going on most of the time. Unfortunately for that, I had to give it a 6 on the rating scale. Maybe if I wish to re-read this

at some point, I'll slow down my reading just to get an idea on what's going on.
Art [5/10] I've seen this art style used multiple times when it comes to these manga and their similar issues. The art style is rather generic and doesn't appeal to me. The style is rather boring and looks weird in some angles. Sometimes when the characters are turning around at an angle, they look weird because of this art style. The males in this story look strange and uncomfortable to look at. Other than that, the art is okay, I guess. Wish authors would do things different in designs at time, but they have a deadline they need to make and such, as I know.
Character [6/10] || Honestly, the characters are rather forgettable to me. Maybe its just me. I read a lot, so that might be the case of why I tend to forget characters mostly. Honestly, I don't even know the characters' names in this. Their names are forgettable to me. The characters do, however, stand on their own as characters. They don't have generic personalities as I noted that's so often used such as the '-dere' situation. So thanks to the author for that one.
Enjoyment [7/10] Because of the quick pacing of the story, I was able to get this manga done rather quickly. The story has some cliche plotting, but I guess that was, in a way, why I liked it. I was willing to continue reading this and keep up a good pace along with the story. The art was appealing enough for me to keep wishing to read this. The characters had their own stance as characters and the story (and the hot scenes- whew!) kept me going to the end of it.
Overall [7/10] Altogether, I would recommend this as a read if you're okay with fast pacing (and when I mean fast pacing, I mean fast pacing) and the story breaks up into a new one with different characters at times. I enjoyed this read. If I had this manga in book form, I would love to have a bubble bath on a hot day and read this story to pass the time. Maybe I'll re-read this again at some point if I feel like it again.

I'm going to have to say that this anime, unfortunately, is on my bad list of anime. It's not the worst though. This anime does has its pros along with its cons. I'm going to admit, this review may have spoilers, but to be rather honest, it's best to maybe put this anime to the side, reader.
Story [3/10]
The reason I give the story a 3 out of 10 is because, well, the 'story' isn't that great. In fact, there's no real story at all. There's no plot driving this anime. The main objective of this anime was to sell its game(s) to the young audience

of teenage girls. If I have to say what the anime use to drive the anime to keep going, its that it use each episode to show off a brother for the main protagonist. And I must admit, this makes this EXTREMELY boring to watch. Because there's nothing to help the viewer to keep motivated to watch, it was so boring to watch that it was mentally painful. One of the main objectives of an anime to do is to keep the viewer encouraged to keep watching. If there's no real plot or anything to keep the viewer watching, the anime will turn stale, no matter how much pretty artwork you shove into the anime itself. And speaking of art...
Art [7/10]
Now, the art isn't that bad. The art was able to stand on its own ground and it helps catches the viewer's eyes. The background of the anime, however, is boring and bland. It had the generic anime style to it, but the characters had an interesting appearance. But the male characters, unfortunately, mostly look like females themselves. The anime is supposed to grasp its audience of young, teenage girls, right? If the characters don't look masculine, it'll throw off the viewer who was interested in a reverse harem. Art is a major key opponent to an anime, and if it can't appeal to the audience, it might throw them off and eventually make them not feel the need to continue watching the anime. The art is good enough to keep me wanting to watch, but due to the lack of plot, it left a dryness in my mind, a static, basically.
Sound [4/10]
Honestly, I don't even remember the music at all. If I don't remember or ever notice the music to begin with, it must've not been anything special. Music in reverse harem tends to be bland and lacking of what it could've been, in my opinion. I feel bad for the composer(s) of the music. Maybe because of the lacking of moments that could've gotten the viewer's attention, they weren't able to push out good, emotional music. In a short summary, I'll say the music was lacking here.
Character [2/10]
Oh boy, here's the fun part. The characters were UTTERLY BORING. They lacked real personalities and above all, I could only see them as just selling points of the games the anime producers were trying to throw over to get customers. The only time I can see the 'personalities' of the male characters were when an episode puts them into the spotlight. And what makes me very tasteless to this anime is that they threw in a young boy and the freaking squirrel (the voice's annoying, might I add) and that astounds me. If there was one character I had some interest in, it was Fuuto, even though I have an angry hatred towards him as a character after a major stunt he attempts in one later episode.
If there's something I would've love to see, its how the brothers interact with one another, showing brotherly love. There were 'times' where they would, but its cut in a matter of seconds. Showing brotherly love would've helped create characters. What I would've also love is how the brothers would've reacted to having a new step-sister in the house realistically. Their mother just married to some guy they barely even knew about and now they have to act like its nothing when there's a new sibling in the house? That would've been interesting to see really, to see maybe some react negatively to the new step-sister of theirs, and the new step-father even. But then again, what am I saying? Their mother had 13 sons and somehow is not dead or extremely fat. She seriously needs to get her tubes tied.
Enjoyment [1/10]
I didn't have a fun time watching this. It was a painful watch through and I feel empty after finishing this anime. This left a dry taste through out the whole anime and never will I ever watch this again, period. Hate would be a strong word for this, but rather heavily disliked this anime. The anime doesn't show real conflict (get it?) between the idea of having a new step-sister and for some reason, the bland main character, Ema, they fall for her easily, and all 13 of them. What kind of luck is that? Even when she flat out says that she only sees them as brothers, they will still get onto her and kiss her. Heck, one of the brothers even almost raped her in her sleep! Unacceptable!
Overall [2/10]
If anything, its the art that somehow pull this anime out to a '2' on me. This anime is not appealing, even as a reverse harem. I know I shouldn't expect much from a reverse harem, but this anime goes down into a very big, dark hole and it won't be able to dig itself out. I will never recommend someone to watch this anime. If you're looking for an interesting reverse harem to watch, this is not the place you should look over to. There are some other actually good reverse harems out there, trust me.
