Oh ok no problem, so going back to our previous convo:
So for the current winter season, it seems likely that I won't be snowboarding at all this time around. It's like I partially lost the passion for that, but it's more of the fact that I'm just too busy with RL right now in general.
Instead of doing that, I have decided to attend several cons for this year.

Yeah, the American economy is still a huge mess in general. But the Euro zone economies are worse-off in general, and China's economic growth has slowed down significantly as of late. So it's like basically all the main world economies are currently suffering.
But the Korean economy has been booming from these past few years.
So yeah, with Obama having been re-elected for a 2nd term, I guess we'll just have to deal with whatever happens. But a lot of people aren't pleased that he's planning to raise taxes on the highest income brackets. It's like they're giving up tax money to support lazy people who don't want to work at all, and like have multiple children when they can't even support themselves.

Oh ok. What kind of engineering are you thinking of entering when you go to college? Is it along the lines of computer or electrical engineering?
Yeah, it would probably be more wise to go with Paleontology as a minor instead of the major.
Oh yeah, I still am pretty intrigued with robots in general.

Hmm, are you currently taking Calculus BC at school? (double-variable Calculus)
I was fine with taking AP Language and Composition during my junior year in hs, but I opted not to take AP literature because of the teacher who taught it.
So how has school been for you recently?

Oh ok. Did you end up going to Sac-Anime during the 1st weekend of January? I went to ALA during that weekend. One of my Norcal friends flew down to LA for ALA, but one of our other friends went to Sac-Anime instead since he's more tight on money than the 2 of us.
The next con I'll be going to is Sakura Con in Seattle, followed by Fanime, Anime Expo, and Japan Expo USA. I may possibly go to Comic Con and maybe one other random con this year depending on what happens.

Upon further investigation, Bak-Anime which also only takes place for one day is also on a Sunday just like Stockton-Con.
Oh wow, $4 for an extra fee for Stockton-Con sure is cheap.
Yeah, it could be better to get the Stockon Arena for next year.
That reminds me that the LAX Marriott basically reached capacity this year for ALA. Many people had complaints of it being over-crowded.
Oh, so for the Anime Club at your school, has it been revived yet? It would be cool if that happens (if it hasn't been revived yet).

Hmm ok. For now, do you want to exchange emails just for general contact reference? Kind of like just in case if like something bad happens to this website.

Jets | 12-25-12, 10:20 PM
Thank you! Merry Christmas!!
I'm actually currently in Norcal for about the next 5 days.
I'll continue on with our previous conversation hopefully when I get home. I've been rather too lazy and tired to talk to people lately. I've only really exchanged the occasional 3rd party texts with certain people, and even that has been rather delayed for me.

thanks :D
Happy Thanksgiving i hope you had a good one :D

Yep, you definitely are fortunate to not have had any kind of serious injuries. I used to get some cramps randomly at the most random times in the past, but it like doesn't happen nowadays for me. I do think dislocating a knee is more painful than dislocating a shoulder. I think about micro-fracture knee surgery in this case for my random reasoning.
Overall, yes, I would say Canada has better snow than certain states. But compared to Utah and Colorado, I would say it's awfully close. I haven't gone to Whistler yet to snowboard. I want to go there first, then I'll have a more solid opinion as to which place in the world has the best snow.
Ahh, I do have some indirect relatives who also live in Vancouver. I've been there 3 or 4 times in my lifetime, but they were all from a long time ago. And yeah, you should try to convince them to go on a snow trip up to Whistler. You know what, maybe we should both go there for a snow trip.

Oh. When I say Socal, I'm referring to the southern part of CA, just like Norcal is the northern part.
So it's like you can say LA and San Diego are both a part of Socal.

Currently, it looks like Obama is leading in the polls. I haven't been paying attention to that, but from what I heard, that's the case for now. It's true that Obama inherited a lot of the big mess left behind by Bush. There sure has been a lot of arguments and indecisiveness in Congress with a lot of stuff lately. Election Day is less than 2 months away, but I don't think I'll vote (just like I didn't in 2008). But yeah, overall, the election should be rather close. I just think Romney will be elected since it seems like a lot of Americans want change. It's kind of like how France got a new president in their recent election, in which President Sarkozy lasted only one term.

Some people are just too used to living the high-life 24/7. In particular, the people who can leech off someone with a high annual salary are the ones who seem to do that the most. Like one of my friend's uncles technically doesn't work at all. So basically, my friend's grandma owns a series of condos which is why she has plenty of money. All his uncle does his manage the condos, and by "manage" in this case, all he really does is collect the monthly rents from the residents. That doesn't seem hard to me at all. He spends rather lavishly and brags about his possessions. My friend currently has that same mentality as his uncle of wanting to live the high-life 24/7. So basically, it seems like they both won't be donating any funds to charities or such in the near foreseeable future. In fact, when my friend's grandma passes away, I can see them 2 fighting over the inheritance money.

Yeah, I agree that it's more important to pursue a good education and climb your way up gradually to a better paying job. Like currently, I'm not paid six digits, but I hope to eventually reach that salary sooner rather than later. And like once I get there, then I can start thinking about stocking up on expensive stuff such as luxury cars and a nicer house.

Ahh, that's lame your schedule was messed up during the first week of school. I also took AP Lang during my junior year, but I skipped out on AP Lit for my senior year. Yeah, the art history textbook is HUGE. When I took AP Euro my sophomore year, I was considering taking art history my junior year, but after I saw that textbook, I decided 'no way...' I'm assuming your school must be on a tight budget, so that they're not offering as much AP courses as other schools.

Will you be able to go to next year's Anime Expo? I actually booked my premium badge on the last day of this year's event right at the LA Convention Center with those computers they had set up. A friend who I had just met there convinced me and a few others to get those premium badges for next year.

Otakon was maybe just a little above average at best. It supposedly is the East Coast's biggest anime convention, but it's nowhere as good as Anime Expo. I felt like I was daydreaming and sleepwalking most of the time that I was there. I'm not so sure I'll go there again next year. I might only if the right group of people go.

Ahh, so I see Stockton-Con took place August 5 this year. And it's scheduled for August 4 next year. It seems a bit unusual that they decided to schedule it on a Sunday. Do you know roughly about how many attendees there were this year?

Speaking of conventions, Japan Expo USA will be making their debut next year at the Santa Clara convention center from August 23-25. I'm planning to attend it. You should go if you're able to. Although Stockton is rather far from Santa Clara...a 1-way drive is like 1.5 hours or so.

Btw, is there any other way I can get ahold of you besides through this site? Such as Skype or text?
I generally rely on the occasional text to stay in-touch with people who live overseas. Skype is the chat client that I use the most nowadays, although I rarely go on it. I usually only go on if someone asks me to on a certain day and time or vice versa.

Assassin_Creed | 09-13-12, 5:28 AM
yo,its been a while,how r u today?

Jets | 08-05-12, 4:40 PM
Oh yeah. I definitely think the leg bones are far more durable than the ones in the arm and around the hands. Although I think having leg injuries are more painful than ones in the arms, such as like having a torn ACL or ruptured tendons.
Although I think the worst ones are having fractured vertebrae.
Speaking of snowboarding, early next year, I might go to Whistler early next year. You probably know it's located in Canada in the BC province, about like 1.5 hours northwest of Vancouver.

Do you live in a regular 2-story house in one of those normal neighborhoods?
Oh haha, that yearbook headline sure is funny.
So it seems like I haven't told you yet that I'm in Socal. Specifically in southern Orange County. So I'm basically at the mid-way point between San Diego and Los Angeles.
You probably heard about how Irvine is the safest city in the US, in comparison to cities that are of comparable size.

Yeah. From about a week ago, I read that the overall US unemployment rate is at about 8%. And I further read that no president has ever been re-elected with that high of a rate, so Obama has a high hill to climb.
Politics is often like a series of unorthodox lies. Candidates will say they'll do this and that, and find ways to criticize their opponents. And then when they win their election(s), they like end up doing none of what they said they would do.
*sigh* The US presidential election is coming up in like 3 months for now. We'll see what happens. From talking to a few people who voted for Obama last time, they said they're going for Mitt Romney this time.

Yeah. Some of those 'house-wives' have the easy-way-out. Like they can basically live the "high-life" 24/7 mentally.
And it would especially be bad for them if their family like doesn't really save money at all, and their spouse loses their job. Then it'll be like impossible or really difficult for them to change their lavish life-styles.
I guess a lot of those house-wives have other friends who are like them. So during the day, they like meet up for brunch, work out at the gym, go shopping together, etc...you name it. Some of them may clean the house to a certain extent.

You know....if I could live like them, what would I do all day? Probably stay up until like 4 or 5 each night, then wake up around noon....play games, watch anime, etc for the rest of the day. And depending on what goes on, I would probably go partying on some nights. Such as like drinking, singing, and dancing.
That's just wishful thinking for me.
But currently, I want to improve my annual salary so that I have more flexibility to live the 'high-life.'

Omgg yeah. That family-friend's mom is far less productive than my mom. Although they both like go grocery shopping, regular shopping, and that kind of stuff...my mom actually does some productive things like go to gym classes every morning.
She...on the other hand...doesn't do any of that productive stuff.
I honestly feel she wants to hoard as much as her husband's money from her daughter. It's not like their daughter was ever really spoiled by them, and she always had good manners.

That's basically what South OC is like...right around where I live. A bunch of spoiled kids. It was even worse when some of them bragged about their expensive luxury cars as if it was actually "their own"....Well, it technically isn't, because their parents bought it for them. It's just like my current car, it's technically not mine, since my dad bought it for me.
That story about your teacher being stuck with a crappy car is unusual. That license plate part definitely took the icing part of the story.

So you will be a junior for this upcoming school year?
I assume that you took AP Euro last year?
I did consider taking AP Art History during my junior year in hs, but after I heard it was far harder than AP Euro, I decided it wouldn't be worth my time. And yeah, I think the pass rate for that AP exam at my school was rather low too.
I did see the textbook for it, and it's possibly the biggest textbook I have ever seen.

Hmm, I wonder if my high school has that same procedure now as your school. While I was there, I never heard about them taking measures to prevent students from like taking the easy-way-out.

So I went to the Anime Expo (AX) at the beginning of July, and it took place at the LA Convention Center. That was about 4.5 days of fun for me. In general, I was often hanging out with "minors" during the day at the con center itself. But in the night, I was hanging out with "adults." Basically, in short, I drank and partied for 4 straight nights, and I'm surprised that I survived on about 4 hours of sleep for each of those con nights.
I can tell you some more specifics later on.

And speaking of cons, I went to Baltimore last weekend (July 27-29) for Otakon. It was nothing compared to AX, but I still had fun. The heat and humidity there was totally unbearable.

Snowboarding requires that you have good balance overall. When you get used to it, you don't have to rely on your arms as much to balance yourself. It becomes second-nature then basically.
You probably have heard that the most common injury for snowboarding is broken wrists? Many people don't wear wrist-guards, so when you fall down, you instinctively use your wrists to help break your fall. But then it can end up being really bad, that you break them.

Oh Central Valley, so around the Stockton and Modesto areas. Do you find those areas to be ghetto? I remember couple years ago when I was about to go visit a friend who was attending University of Pacific in Stockton, she warned me about how ghetto Stockton is.

I guess 7 years wouldn’t be all that bad for the economy to recover, assuming those economists are accurate. But within this time span, it’ll probably still be really bad timing for like college graduates when it comes to finding jobs.

The cocky house-wives I know are ones who currently don’t work. It’s quite possible they may have worked for a few years after they finished college (assuming they attended that). And then they found the perfect spouse, which allowed them to basically not work for the rest of their lives.

Yeah, within the past few years, I have talked sarcastically to my family-friend’s mom about her attitude. The thing is for the fun stuff during her undergraduate days, my family-friend paid for all of it using what she earned from jobs. It was the tuition and housing that her dad paid completely for. The fact is that her mom doesn’t do much during the day except for maybe some simple grocery shopping. It’s like every weekday afternoon, she talks on the phone with my mom non-stop. That’s not working to make a living at all.

Speaking of people who seem like they’ll be NEET’s forever unless their parents all of a sudden cut them off, I knew 2 really spoiled guys from my high school. One time, one of them went ‘trigger-happy’ with his car somewhere, and then he ended up totaling it by crashing into some wall. His dad had spent somewhere around $50-60K for his BMW. When he totaled it, he bitched about getting a new one, and his dad got him the same exact thing. (Like are you effing serious!!??!?) If I even had showed any sign(s) of going crazy with my car, my dad would have taken the keys away from me for good.
The second person got like an equally expensive Mercedes-Benz, and one time he totaled his car by crashing into another car going at like at least 80 mph. The other person was beyond enraged, but the guy’s dad just told him to eff off by giving him an undisclosed ridiculous amount of money. And here again, he bought his son a brand new copy of the same exact car.

I also took 4 AP’s during my senior year in hs. I took AP Gov, statistics, music theory, and physics C. Which other AP’s are you taking besides biology?
I took AP Bio during my junior year, but I dropped out within the first 2 weeks since I didn’t really like it. I switched my science class to AP Environmental Science instead, so I basically was taking a short-cut. But to make up for that, I was taking Calculus BC that same year.
It sure sounds like you have a lot of summer work to take care of being school resumes.

So I got back from the Anime Expo barely a day ago. It was fun overall even though I didn’t really do any planning for it.
Do you want to hear my stories from it?
