Yeah, I see what you mean about the 'xxx' as a prefix to 'holic'. It's true, there are many different things that could allude to. That well-endowed female lead always seems to end up getting hammered on the saki though lol. I've seen maybe the first 6 or 8 episodes myself, like 8 years ago or something, but drifted away. It seemed pretty good though and I liked the magical and mysterious atmosphere. It could be something I'll pick up again in the future. Oh, I loved that Kagerou song (by Buck-Tick) used as the ending, and the whole air guitar, air bass, and air drums sequence made me laugh.

I have the DVD boxsets for xxxHOLiC but I've only watched like 8 or 9 episodes. Other things kept coming along and distracting me from it because it was quite a gentle series. It was surprisingly dark at times as well though. I often wondered about the title. Do you think it's an allusion to the fact she's an alcoholic? She was gettin tipsy on the saki in like nearly every episode lol. Oh, I loved one of the ending songs, Kagerou by Buck-Tick. F**king Rock-tastic :)
