The idea behind the story is not an entirely bad concept. Of course it has become a generic plot idea to base an anime on creating a manga. I mean c'mon, it seems like every year there is either an anime or a manga where the theme is based on creating a manga. However, the way this show presents the manga creator and the interactions between him and his assistants can be quite warm on the heart.

This is one of those short clips that people who rave about it will say "OhEmGee, you didn't get it? You don't have an open mind. You're not artistic enough to understand the concept" or whatever other hipster bull shit they try to tell you.

It appears it's meant to be funny, but it's not at all. This makes watching it even more irritating since you're expected to take it seriously.
I live for short stories that tell a deep moving theme through the reliance of visual appeal, but this did not tell anything.
If trying hard was a sport, this anime would be the Robin ...

A mediocre tale written about a mediocre girl who falls in love with a mediocre guy, how cute.
Say I Love You is the story about a girl who is never noticed falling in love with a guy that everyone noticed. In other words, it is the even more basic version of every high school drama series ever created.
