Each episode is 24 minutes, circa. 5 minutes of recap, one minute of OP and 2 minutes of ED.
Just 15 minutes for the show, then during the show, the amount of flashback people got, is amazing, we can easily remove 5 and more minutes, 10 minutes for the real sauce.
Real sauce? Ah sorry, the real sauce, yeah yeah, give me 10 minutes and i would find something.
This anime has many issues, but the worst is the pacing, the feeling is that nothing is happening, the real content of 5 episodes could be fit in just one episode and still slow to watch. One rescue
...
could take 4/5 episodes, where there would be much time dedicated to the recap of all the precedent episodes instead of new content, some episodes are just recap and flashback, so totally useless.
The 18 episodes i watched until now, could be fit in 7, i don't understand why forcing to make 24 episodes when 12 would be more than fine. Money? More AD on the Tv show? Generally making more EPs would be expensive, but considering they are just recycling the same animation and part of video of other episodes, to make recap and flashback, maybe they can lower the overall price and still make more profit.
Hard to say something on the characters, considering the low amount of content, and the poor contest where they fit. There is a learning curve with the main characters, but is very slow and out of contest.
The story is all over the place, there is no one main strand, and the pacing ruin everything. Sometimes they start with good detail about what happening, but then they start ruining it with useless flashback and recap.
Art and sound are on the poor side, probably on pair for a budget anime.
Watching this show is a waste of time, not worth.
It's a shame that something this important, like the service that those real rescuer does, is compared to a low quality show like this.

I start episode 4 and, mmhh, did i miss an episode? Better watching the end of episode 3, nope, miss noting, my bad.
I start episode 5....what i'm missing? Did i see the previous episode?
Today i start episode 6, déjà vu? What's wrong with this anime?
There is no explanation whatsoever, i can't understand a thing!
Struggling to find a patch to follow in the story, hoping for the next episode to tell me something, each time different scenario, more characters and more things to follow without knowing what’s going on. I can't figure what the main plot is, what the main characters are trying to achieve
...
and why, every episode is a mess.
There are very big voids, there is no continuity in the story and scenario in general.
The story in general is too vague, if not poorly written, is poorly demonstrated, it's very difficult to find some logic and stay with the story. The first episode was difficult to digest, but i was hoping for an easier solution on the other episodes, instead they keep adding new scenario, new chapters, new things, without giving information about the old stuff.
It's a mix of poorly design choice, the story doesn't stick and don't tempt you to keep watching the anime.
The characters have mostly the same design flow of the story, they look all the same, no development and growth of the main chapters, just a bunch of people throw in.
Art is the only nice thing that remain good, but pretty much destroyed by the average animations. Not only, the characters look, looking into this anime is like looking on other anime, every character resembles me of other characters on other anime. They look pretty familiar, pretty copy and paste, not original, like a cliché, they don't hit.
Rating could change, but i don't have hope for this anime. I'm pretty disappointed with Studio Bones.

MF Ghost is not a sequel to Initial D. Mostly a fake attempt to draw attention from Initial D fans.
The anime show can be nice from a general point of view, even if at the limit, mostly because it wants to inherit a lot of things from Initial D, mostly because it't the same writer and because money and studios need to make them, but, there are ton's of missing spots and problems, that if not present or better managed, would make this anime a very good one and a real sequel to Initial D.
Few points:
- The MFG trial is a good idea,
...
but on an Anime placed on a realistic environment, like Initial D was, it's an impossible idea to realize, you can't have cars driving and competing at 250km/h on a public road, with a ton of possible hazard, but it's an anime, so, we can pass on that.
- Bringing back some people and some name from Initial D, doesn't make it a sequel to Initial D or anything related to it, it's just a bad commercial move to tempt people to watch an anime based on loyalty to a very good anime.
- Eurobeat, apart from the opening, the only song i recall it's on the last episode and just a bit, but ok, we can pass on that, it's not Initial D.
- Cars, that's an Anime, a Japanese Anime, inherit from Initial D, people want to see JDM! Where are my JDM cars! I give nothing about Ferrari and Lamborghini, even if i'm Italian. A very big part of the show is missing here.
- Initial D was somehow realistic, with a 1984 Corolla competing to late 1990 cars, not a lot of difference in age and power or technology in general, and the one used from Takumi when joining Initial D, it's a modified version with a 4A-GE used on the Group A AE101 cars, we are talking about 240hp at 12k RPM, that's a lot for the era, more than enough to blow a EVO.
Now we have a stock GT86 with a 2 liter and less than 200hp, competing to 500+ hp cars, and winning! Totally plausible, just follow the line of the demo car!
- Writing, where are the technical stuff, engine technicalities, skill and driving technique like on Initial D or Wangam Midnight.
Chapter development? It would be fine if the anime was a sequel, with the old chapters, but we have a main chapter that is like god, a good boy liked from woman and with special life skill like perfect memory, in addition to perfect driving skill, so there is no growth to this chapter, what i'm learning there, there is no way i can feel close to this one, with Takumi on Initial D, we grow with him, it's like be with him on the all journey and plot. On MFG the plot is too weak, loot of point recall to initial D but on a very poor way.
- Angels? We need them? All that fan service? I would prefer watching the bonnet of an R34 opening.
- CGI? Why? The one on the 4th season of Initial D was a ton better, more like a drawing, very well make and very fluid, this one, is like playing Asphalt on Android. Don't tell me is a money problem, considering the amount of stuff made to get more view.
- The annoying announcer, the annoying show in general, like 4 episodes to make 2 laps on a street circuit, only scenes of cars going on, was like watching Captain Tsubasa with Oliver going to an infinite football field.
There are ton’s of issue, the problem is wanting to implement this anime on the Initial D universe, maybe it would be better just having Takumi driving for MFG, not with the old 86 and not with the new GT86, with European cars but mostly JDM, with not angels, and a lot of good writing like on the old Initial D.
Giving it a 5 is like doing a favour, and hoping for a better second season, was mostly mixed feeling, but after thinking about it, i wouldn't recommend this anime to anyone, it would be a waste of time.

I'll be short. This isn't a racing anime. There is no motosport or racing moment.
This anime is categorized as Racing Anime, but there is no race in this story, the point is: someone that generally want to watch a racing anime, is because he/she is a car lover, and want to see real or fantasy racing, depend on the theme of the anime, but generally want to hear stuff related to motosport, engine or driving technique and skill. Take Initial D for example, for sure there is love and other things involve, to create more emphasis, but 9 episodes on 10, are people racing on
...
the street, with different animation of people driving, and a lot of talking about engine technicalities or about driver's skill.
This isn't a Racing Anime, this is a Drama anime, a good one, no doubt; the story is actually nice, a solid 6, drawing and audio are fine, CGI not that much, but it's a low series anime; a lot of drama, but not racing involved. If it was categorized as Drama only, it would be a solid 6 for me.
But, the fact is, i couldn't care less for the photographer, yes, bad things append, but where are the car's moment, engine take apart, driving situation etc? Engine parts lying around on the shop, Haruka and Koutarou taking things apart and setting up, Futoshi talking about driving tactics and planning tires to use, watching weather for conditions, etc.
If my desire was to see a drama anime, i would choose a drama anime! Like anyone.
I'm not giving a 4, because i actually see worse stuff this season, and this one is watchable and nice, but not in point with the theme.
There is no problem with people giving a higher vote, they just need to understand that this isn't a racing anime, because if someone is watching for new stuff and searching for a racing anime, something like Initial D, Wangan Midnight and came across this one, he/she would be a lot disappointed after few episodes, thinking it would be similar, reading good stuff on the review or seeing a high number vote.
