Yes! Happy belated birthday Yumi-san.
I think that you deserve Paper Girls for your birthday. What my busy friend about your age should also get on the 13th of September also. Yes, she loves space operas.
She's been into the cycle of time and history since decades ago. The major theme of Rahxephon, as you can see.
I also want to read Saga because of existentialism and fate, the major theme of Big O (representing a totally unrelated genre). That and another space opera called Black Science.
I also like to explore vigilantism as seen in The Punisher, The Crow, Sin City, Lazarus (the 2013 comic book) and the SNES game Brawl Brothers.
Chrono Trigger may have a deeper story in SNES standards, but vigilantism in some retro games is my dessert.
I hope that you're having a wonderful summer and overall Year of the Dragon.
I started watching Fafner The Beyond after Devilman Lady and SEED Freedom.
Yes, SEED Freedom is one of the best movies so far. My tomboyish friends working overtime would love it too.
О, да! Наши дни рождения практически рядом.Я с нетерпением жду этого особенного дня.
Other than that, I'll be reading more Devilman this fall, in canonical order. Not a big fan of battle shounen, but I'll also read Rekka no Honō. I also look forward to reading Gundam Crossbone as well and some people demand an adaptation of that.
じゃあ、後でお会いしましょう、貴婦人! (I'll see you later, miss Yumi.)。
Happy belated birthday to my long, lost tomboyish Italian friend. She told me how much she loved Ghost in the Shell and Evangelion when we were both very young, like zoomer young. Too bad she didn't get a chance to read Dominion or watch the adaptation Dominion Tank Police.
Nostalgia aside, Lum Chang's introduction in Silent Möbius (manga) is very different than that of the 1998 adaptation. That Chinese exorcist character appeared and that's where similarities start going their separate ways.
I can't wait to read Silent Möbius QD and pick up even more Japanese. If it takes place in 17 years after the old Silent Möbius, then Yuki Saiko or the youngest exorcist with telekinesis would be about my age.
Yuki-chan was born in the late 90s which would mean she's a zoomer. That episode where she accidentally traveled back in the 90s is one of my favorites and very memorable.
So yes, QD came out ten years ago and nobody told me. There must be so many manga that still remain in Japan. Silent Möbius definitely deserves a remake plus an adaptation of QD. Hopefully, Sunrise will get a chance to make a real adaptation one day or AIC (last best choice though).
As for video games, I plan on replaying Wild Arms 2 in Japanese after I'm done with Grandia HD. Wild Arms 2 could have been top JRPG of 1999, but the dialogue had horrible translations compared to Gameboy Color JRPGs like Lufia, thanks Sony.
I remember a Swedish guy that struggled to play Tales of Phantasia in Japanese before the GBA port dropped. Nobody literally cares about the GBA port unfortunately. My big Virgo friend told me that Cless and Arc are equally hot, wearing similar red headbands. Two bishounen that look like they're family. :D
I also look forward to using Japanese for Sakura Wars 1-4, the only visual novel franchise that I really care about. The only characters in that franchise that I know are from Hanagumi (featuring Maria, the tomboyish and blonde half Russian; Iris is adorable) and New York Combat Revue.
I'll definitely read Pluto soon enough as I master enough jōyō kanji. At least 1,006 Chinese characters. Special thanks to the late Mr. Boyé's Instant Japanese book for kanas, random history lessons and everyday Japanese grammar. May he rest in peace, his book is great proxy teaching.
I wonder if there's a Russian equivalent of that book. It would take me a while to learn as many languages as C3PO. Must be nice being as resourceful as AI.
I also thought about learning Russian after Japanese, chemistry (would use a sawdust stove instead of a bunsen burner for some projects) and abstract algebra. Besides, I still need to read more books. Pretty much how Batman or former prisoners became multilingual.
If I recall, Russian literature is very deep. I assume that the text is more detailed in its original language.
Junko also did a great job in what she did like Code Geass, Blassreiter (very good with little boys also) and Sailor Moon Crystal.
Glad that Aya Hisakawa (the beautiful Rem), Kotono Mitsuishi and Emi Shinohara were able to reprise their roles in Crystal. My friends are big fans of Misato Katsuragi by the way.
Thanks for responding by the way. I also got my hands on a rare sci-fi novel from the 80s called Battletech. That Vietnamese guy about your age is right, its war story is very detailed.
I'm about to replay Valkyria Chronicles soon. It's still pretty interesting that some of the seiyuu from Gundam SEED took on the roles of Rosie, Irene and Isara.
Eleanor Varrot being voiced by Atsuko-sama (Motoko Kusanagi or Major), is still pretty awesome too after all these years. You could say that she's the very best lady captain besides Marrue Ramius.
Big O might be another manga that I'll read some time because I grew up with the Sunrise anime, I love it and it's closer to Batman than any other manga. Definitely one of the best there ever was for adults besides Blue Submarine no. 6 and Android Kikaider.
That day my friend Mimi read Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin, I told her about it's connection to Venus Wars or Yoshikazu Yasuhiko. Yes! Their character designs are very similar indeed.
Apart from future Macross movies, a Space Battleship Yamato movie is supposed to be released this decade.
I may watch said Gundam anime later and learn Japanese. There's this complete set of Silent Möbius manga that I found on Limetorrents, but the whole series is all Japanese. Kia Asamiya is like one of the most underrated mangaka ever and I grew up watching that 1998 anime of the same name.
Last time I watched it, I wanted a season two and so far, I demand a remake. It should be remade because of the recent shortage of science fiction anime.
I have to look no further than video games for sci-fi these days, like Mechwarrior or this The Callisto Protocol game as of late. Zone of the Enders HD was awesome sci-fi too (the war that took place in Mars was epic).
Maybe someday I'll play Gundam Unicorn when my Japanese gets better. Better than arcadey, simulation games that Namdai usually makes.
It's interesting that Lady Houko and Mamiko Noto used to star in Valkyria Chronicles. No doubt that it's one of my personal favorite games.
One of the reasons I've been interested in The Little Witch From Mercury to some degree is because a half-Asian tomboy (had a birthday last month) sent me a YouTube link or episode one.
By the way, what do you love most about Kare Kano? Some Italian tomboy my age told me that it's her favorite manga besides Ghost in the Shell and Evangelion.
Since I finished reading said Digimon manga (great alternate universe stuff; better than Toei adaptations), I'll think that I'll watch the rest of that recent Gundam anime. Yes, The Little Witch From Mercury and thinking about Mamiko Noto reminds me of the days I watched Solty Rei (around 2006).
Anyway! I need to get back to kitchen-related duties and abstract algebra.
Said Gemini friend and I believe that the Gundam SEED sequel would be about fixing or revisiting its timeline (kind of like Deadpool fixing the X-Men movie timeline in his sequel).
We also believed that Hathaway's Flash was made for revisiting the old UC timeline. That's typical of the studio though. Even before they made Unicorn.
A 37 year-old tomboy that I know is dying to watch more sci-fi anime. Even if they're short-length compared to Ghost in the Shell. Another tomboy that I know used to watch that anime, SAC and 2nd Gig more specifically, every midnight.
As for manga, I finally completed Sorcerer Hunters which a Gundam fangirl with an Asian husband recommended to me indirectly (more characters than the Xebec adaptation). Now I look forward to reading Digimon V-Tamers next.
Still, it would be great to see more animated sci-fi movies.
You have great taste in anime by the way.
