Hello there! 8D

It's been so long since I watched Utena now, I really am due for a rewatch. My boyfriend showed some interest in trying it out because I reference it and it's themes so much, though my suspicion is that he won't last long with it. It's so very pink, but then again, he did love Ouran so who knows.

My favorite character was, of course, Utena, and one of my favorite things in the show was the relationship between Utena and Anthy. It was this very interesting mix of friendship and possibly romantic love, and you were never really sure which it was and it's likely that the characters themselves weren't sure either since the whole thing was about adolescence. I also really liked how the end of the series shows Anthy finally breaking free, despite the cycle starting over once more.

Another favorite thing in the show for me was just this one scene with Utena and Touga, where they're sitting on the ledge of the duel circle thing at night and Touga just asks "Let me be with you just for tonight" or something like that, and the way he asks is so sincere, and it's really moving because you can tell that despite his playboy tendancies and general asshatness, he truly loved Utena, and was just now realizing it while also realizing that she would never love him back. It was just really sad and very sweet, and then she just lays her head on his shoulder in response and for some reason that scene has ALWAYS stuck with me. It was very thoughtful and powerful and just very sweet, and it was the scene that really made me realize how much I actually liked Touga as a character.

Yeah, it's the beast to conquer. We need to get on watching it soon, too. We haven't watched an episode in quite some time.

ahaha, noooooo, don't make it more complex than it already had

on that note, I miss those simple, down to earth plot in current anime/manga waves :(

I hope you realize my comment is a total joke emphasized by my totally unrequited love for doraemon.

Honestly, the story is confusing me, but quite interesting nonetheless

I do like coming of age story and comedy but when you follow a anime or manga with bizzare art things tends to go hit or miss specially if you expected a orange to be a mango.
I didn't read madoka spoiler(because god knows if I ever feel like watching it in the future).I deleted your comment because as long as there is spoiler button people will be tempted to press it and I don't want to spoil it for others(including me).

My problem with that is WHEN THE HELL WERE YOU SUPPOSED TO GET IT
^It is because I went in it expecting diff things and ITS NOT MY FAULT.In uber elitist club poll they all were praising it for being great coming of age story, great symbolism and what not.Now come on tell me where is symbolism and a great story.
Now if someone would have told me that its a over the top fun series with awesome music which you don't need to take it seriously then I would have never expected wrong things.Blame SO CALLED INTELLECTUALS.
As for madoka
People completly desregarding the FACT that I haven't given it a score which says something considering I don't hesitate in giving 1's.As for review no THANKS.I only read and watch reviews after finishing series and madoka is not one of them and probably never will.

there are some on his list that could have been better (dropped Madoka Magica? 4/10 for FLCL? Really?!)
^Madoka seems nothing more than a baby's first deconstruction to Me.You can literaly take a brick, can post a cute face on it and it will still work as fine as its characters. That much of personality, characters in this show has.The whole existence of a certain character in ep 3 was nothing more than plot device.I simply guess people are just too caught with shock factor twist in ep 3.
As for FLCL
A modern art piece where OH SO CALLED INTELLECTUAL are praising the hell out of it by saying LOOK ITS DEEP,Its smart, symbolism,GREAT COMING OF AGE STORY.
And I was like wait, where is even story to begin with before you can call it a coming of age story.Random over the top events combined in 6 ova with good production values means nothing while comparing with any evidence of plot,REAL PLOT.

Your review of Urusei Yatsura was stellar. I enjoyed the pinpoint accuracy of your description of the characters and the plot. Keep it up!

When your review has fewer characters than the show has episodes, you know you haven't written enough.
