I'm not sure I can think of any non-Key VNs similar to Little Busters, though-- at least not translated ones.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica was very good, I give it an 8/10. It was as you had stated. It was different from the normal or typical fair anime that I'm accustomed to watching.
