This story genuinely had such a strong start. Although the setting is pretty standard, the reason why Mahiru would be interested in Amane at all felt very natural. It went along with her character, and it's understandable that someone as desired as Mahiru would want to be seen as a person rather than some idolized "angel". Their friendship felt like it was well-balanced, and I was happy that Mahiru was able to find someone who she didn't have to be desired by like she was some piece of meat. But of course, it started to get off track from that. Which, obviously it had to ... sooner or later since it's a romance self-insert story but the more it went in that direction the more I found myself missing when they were just genuinely friends. After that, the story just kind of degraded into something more washed out and standard, by the end not standing out at all.
I have mixed feelings about their relationship - while on one hand, it makes sense that the proximity and time would make them get closer, on the other it feels like they'd be better off as simply JUST friends.
Besides the relationship itself though - there wasn't much to keep your interest. The characters were really two-dimensional. The one exception to this was a single moment, albeit a small moment, that Mahiru had where she stood out to me. It was in the 2nd or 3rd episode I think, where she acknowledged that she was attractive and that she takes care of her appearance and that moment was probably my favourite. It was that little bit that made her just so much more human instead of just being a "kyaaa I've grown up with everyone around me worshipping and complimenting me but I don't know I'm attractive" kind of unrealistic thing.
While most of the time they were in Amane's apartment (which was refreshing since most of the time romances are set in school) it felt stiff to be there all the time. What I mean by that is that they would just kind of always be sitting on the couch doing nothing but talking to each other. It was a lot of dialogue and it didn't feel realistic at all. The animation could also be pretty jank at times.

All in all, I was really absorbed in the story at first, but by the end of it it didn't feel very special. Had it been less of a wish-fulfillment story and tapped into its potential (particularly Mahiru) it could've turned into something better. I can't bring myself to trash on it out of pure respect for the 10/10 strong start it had.

If you're looking for a mildly interesting romance that's ever so slightly different from other romance animes this one is for you though.

well well what do we have here, its been quite a while since I watched Banana fish, so I won't be able to review it as well as I would've been able to. Either way, I hope you enjoy it ^^

As far as I remember, I recall being sucked into how everything was put together. Outside of yaoi id never seen a guy get raped in anime, much less as a child. The fact it was set in the US diversified it even more. The ending was meh, I didn't feel closure or satisfaction but I didn't hate it either.

I don't ... really give a shit about art, and it wasn't memorable but it wasn't bad either. I like the line weight :). Unfortunately, this one's ranked extremely low on the simpable-o-meter. Would've been nice to have some more hot men seeing as there were practically no women

CHARACTERSSSSSSSSSSSSSSs aaa I loved them, the lack of character protection made me head over heels for them, its a shame the art made them less cute though. I hated Blondies hair absolutely disgusting, Eiji's was better yet it took me some time to let it grow on me. By far Mr fatty was the hottest one though (William Kippard). RIP Shorter, man he was great :pepecry:

I thoroughly enjoyed it a lot more than I should've probably, I remember holing myself into my room and binging it as fast as I could.

OK, so I haven't done this in a while. This review was requested by a friend (wait people read these? :0) soo here goes nothing >:3

[This is really going to go through all my thoughts on it so, yes spoilers]...

Firstly, story. I can't say it was something out of this world, if anything the other aspects stand out way more. Sure, a samurai that smells of sunflowers is cool in all but it's kind of a stretch when it comes to if Mugen or Jin would actually go along with it, to begin with. I don't know, the story was just kind of lacking for ... me. And then the horrendous ending didn't help much. Let's be real, Mugen got blown up and he somehow regened after a few weeks? Also the whole "but oooooh sunflowers have no smell:000000" just wasn't that good, and the impact they could've had by killing Mugen and Jin was taken away.

I loveddddd looking at the art. Holy shit the animation was so smooth, especially for all the dynamic movements that Mugen would pull every two seconds. The expressions were always exaggerated, but just enough. I adored how they differentiated Mugen and Jin's movements. Even when they weren't fighting, it gave you a wonderful addition to their personalities. The artstyle has something I like but I can't quite put my finger on it, I dunno, guess ill stick to staring at it.

Now now, the music. Never thought I'd ever see hip hop and anime together, much less so perfectly incorporated as Samurai Champloo has. Every new song was a huge hype, and I enjoyed paying attention to the soundtrack. That aside, katana slashing sounds are one of my favourite sounds and there was no lack of those (love seeing people be sliced so easily <333). Mugen's voice actor was amazing, literally can't get enough of him. None of the others particularly stood out though.

ohohoh, this is what I wanted to write about >:3. Characters. Can I get a simp pass because holy why are they all hot? Even Fuu has her appeal man. That aside, I appreciate how they make the characters attractive even when they have flaws. All of the characters had something that would make you go ":0" if you get what I mean. Also a single second more of Jin and Mugen's dynamic is something I'd die for (no, I don't ship them they just look like bros). The character designs were great as well, I loved all the details in the clothes and accessories. The weapons all looked sick too. Hands down best character was the Rapper Samurai, can't even try to deny it.

I definitely could've enjoyed it more, but that doesn't mean I didn't like it plenty. The ending was just really stupid so it kinda spoiled shit. The music and characters bring up the score though.

The way everything was packed up was amazing. Sure the plot itself could do with some tweaks but besides that, I couldn't ask for much more.

After watching the Aggretsuko ONA's I was, unsurprisingly, very excited to watch it. Only to be met with sadness and disappointment.

The story went so downhill. Up until now I really digged the show but now ... I'm honestly so let down it hurts. I know the story could've been done so much better in terms of the events and essentially what happens in general. I don't intend to spoil, so I do hope that you understand where I'm coming from if you decide to watch it even after reading my thoughts on it.

The art was as cute and simple as ever, and the sound is as (especially Aggretsuko's rapping voice actor) good as ever.

The characters made such bad decisions, there are new characters introduced, one of which is an absolute sweetheart, who acts maturely. The things that happen with their ark made me very upset. I expected more smh.

Because of the previously mentioned points, it was absolutely dreadful to watch. I wouldn't recommend watching it, but if you really wanna continue the series then go ahead.

I was really let down by this one, I was expecting more from the continuation of Love Live.

The story feels like a carbon copy. The events are almost the same, with a few tweaks here and there. All the events that occurred with μ's, somehow came back to happen again in Love Live Sunshine. This made it extremely boring to re-watch what had already happened. They could've continued it with Honoka and Er's younger sisters. ... Maybe how they feel like they have to live up to μ's expectations or something like that.

The art is an improvement from Love Live. The 3D animation was a world of a difference. I have to give credit where credit is due because the art went a step up and the style was (in my opinion) cuter.

The songs were still good, and so were the voice actors but nothing out of the world.

Along the same lines as to how the story felt almost the same as Love Live so did the characters. The girl who doesn't feel like she's cut out to be a school idol, the upbeat center protagonist that originally had the idea of school idols, the girl with prior knowledge of dance, etc etc. Once you're re-watching the same character with essentially only the design is different. Like, please get some creativity.

I genuinely don't know how I got through the anime, for the sole reason that it was so similar to the original anime. I would recommend to not ruin your view on the anime and stop at the movie.

It's really hard for me to find errors in this masterpiece.

The story was wonderfully done, they pulled off the "emotionless girl" brilliantly. The events connect smoothly and every person that hires her gives a little to the story. As well as coming up again, instead of being a one-time thing, and then you completely forget about them.

Kyoto Animations isn't well-known for no reason, they lived up to their expectations and above on Violet Evergarden. You can't tell when they use CGI, it's very well used. The details in the eyes, clothes and scenery are superb. I was in awe every scene.

All of the voice actors ... were well chosen, however, Violet's stood out. She captured the personality of Violet and played the part almost perfectly. It gave another level to the anime and wouldn't be the same if it had been anyone else.

The character development is amazing, it feels like you're watching real people flaws and all. It's perfectly paced, not too long you get bored, not too short it ends as soon as it begins but right on point.

I can see a lot of other people enjoying this one as much as I did, and overall it's a very well made anime. I wouldn't recommend it to watch with kids though, since there are references to the war and things of the like. I would, however, recommend it to anyone looking for an anime in an older-day setting, but not so far back you can't relate at all.

This was a nice and relaxing movie!

The story was more creative than you're typical romance anime, you can tell it was thought out as well.

The environments and characters looked pretty average, they were nice though!

The characters. Oh, the characters. I adored Sasaki Miyo's personality to bits. She was vibrant and overall gave the movie as a whole another layer of enjoyment. Every interaction she had was interesting, and it was quite intriguing to watch the dynamics she had with the rest of the cast. They pulled her off perfectly, she shines above all the other character's personalities by far, even though ... they are all good as well.

I watched this with my family and I'd say it was family-friendly, there wasn't fanservice either so you can watch it with younger audiences. Especially since there are cats.

I liked this overall, I couldn't find any good anime movies until I stumbled on this one and I don't regret it at all. I'd recommend to anyone looking for a romance anime that isn't your everyday shoujo, but still with fluffy moments. As well as a movie to watch with your family.

Yakusoku no Neverland was love at first sight.

The plot is intriguing and never ceases to amaze me. There's always some small detail you missed and things you'd never think of. Something new happens every episode along with its batch of emotional moments.

You could argue that their foreheads look big, and they do. But once you get used to them, you learn to appreciate the art style.

The characters are so cute. All the little kids have their own traits and personalities and you can get easily attached. The demon's design is very well made as well.

I enjoyed it quite a bit. I can't think of ... many thriller anime's off the top of my head either. I would recommend reading the manga if you're too impatient for season 2 like me. A lot more happens and I feel like the anime just gives you the tip of the iceberg

Truly a wonderful anime. I was expecting more of a one-sided tsundere situation but was pleasantly surprised. The concept is great, and I really enjoyed all of the events that happened in every episode.

The art, voice actors and sound effects were average. Nothing that stands out but not bad either.

The characters though, you never know what'll happen next when they're interacting. It's a well-made romance/comedy anime. I love how both Kaguya and Shirogane are both tsundere in a sense. They've done something quite different and they've done it well.

Very enjoyable, I would recommend to someone looking for a unique romance anime to ... watch to relax and get a good laugh out of.

When I started watching Haikyuu I wanted to experiment outside of anime I usually watch.

I haven't heard of many sports animes so it's pretty unique! I learned the rules of volleyball by watching it too, If you don't know about them at first you get confused so that's a heads up. There's not much you can do with a story like this, so I appreciated them making Hinata short to add on to the story. I also liked that they weren't OP right off the bat even though they had a lot of practice.

The eyes on the characters are spaced out, it takes a while ... to get used to them. From a fangirl's point of view (at least to me) it makes it hard to find the boys "hot" unless it's fanart which is kinda disappointing.

The characters are nice. There are a lot of them thanks to the various schools they compete against or practice with but I think they did a good job with the different personalities and physical traits they gave them.

I got surprisingly attached to Haikyuu though. I screamed when they won a big game and it felt nice to have a good anime you can devote yourself to watching. I would recommend to anyone looking for a light-hearted anime that is different and stands out!
