The summary, as brief as it is, is a bit misleading. It could easily be said the main character is not the panty thief, but rather the woman he's got handcuffed to the bed in his apartment. The two volumes each deal with a scenario where Akane, the aforementioned woman, is technically trapped. Her mobility is limited in both events and she has to work with the people around her in order to solve the crimes that have occurred. Were it not for the somewhat narrow scope of the manga's theme, I think this manga could have gone on for quite a few more volumes

Seemed like a promising counterpoint to Teppuu. Then the mangaka solved the lack of a concrete antagonist by inserting one of my least favorite archetypes, The Walking Bitch Toggle, into the story. You may have seen this archetype before. Seems like a normal person until five pages later when someone does something minor that pisses them off and suddenly The Walking Bitch Toggle's sole purpose in life is dedicated to destroying that person and everything they love. Creating a character who is ridiculously hateable is not how you make a good antagonist. Even Nintendo walked it back with Lusamine. But I digress. My enjoyment of

As a diehard horror manga fan, I felt optimistic when I started this manga but quickly became disappointed. What could have been a good story with interesting monsters is diminished by characters that read like a list of high school tropes and a story where the twists aren't all that surprising. I repeatedly kept going back to it with the dwindling expectation for something to come out of left field and suddenly change my mind about the series, but that never happened.
