I been binging Gundam xD
Starting with: Zeta ➡️ ZZ ➡️ 08th MS ➡️ ∀ Gundam
I got to admit, Zeta wasn't that dark. That honor go to Zambot 3(human bomb) & Ideon:Be Invoked.
Kamille fate was way worse in the novel.
Excluding well-known franchise, anime-original for mecha is a miss rn(with the exception of Gurren Lagann).

In the original gundam('79), you can see some magic element in the shows(ex: newtype).
Since you watched dozen of mecha shows, which genre do you preferred?
"real robot"(tomino Gundam, Votom, etc) or "super robot"(Getter Robo, Mazinger Z, etc) ?
Being a reviewer on this platform is quite hard(although, it mostly seasonal reviewer who need to beat their fellow colleagues into submitting their review first). Those who only review classic anime don't need to face that issue.

Lately, I been dipping into the mecha genre.
Zambot 3(tomino early mecha that he worked on) & Ideon prove to me that Tomino is a excellent writer. Turn A will be no exception. I'm expecting high quality writing lol
Also, are you planning to review older Mecha shows?
I just read your review for Dougram. Do you recommend it in 2022?
Also, can I watch Turn A as a standalone? thx
