"the pillows" are a Japanese alternative rock band, best known internationally for the soundtrack of the anime series FLCL. During its long-running career, the group has released more than a dozen original studio albums, along with several EPs, singles and compilations. the pillows are currently signed to the Avex Trax label.

the pillows were originally "Coin Locker Babies" but was changed after Kenji left the band "KENZI&THE TRIPS"

I think it's more likely that they, being formed in 1989, took inspiration from the Ryu Murakami book "Coin Locker Babies" (published in 1980) than a Miyavi song from 2002, non?
