IS: Infinite Stratos Project Rebooted After Dispute within Publisher

Contents managing company Overlap has announced the reboot of IS: Infinite Stratos project. A newly written short novel, a new drama CD and new character goods will be released at Comiket 83.

The release of IS original novel has been suspended since April 2011 due to a dispute within the publisher Media Factory. Three of the executives resigned from the publisher and established Overlap this year.

OK, it is a TV anime. Guess I will start a new thread for it then. Yeah, possibly a new production with a new studio, but it will still be called a 2nd season. And we are not sure if it is a remake or not.

The words "TV anime" says it is not about the LNDVD at all. Maybe remake is not the perfect word but a new production when translated in english? Maybe like they'll start from vol.1 again and continue up until they catch up on the new ones.

The thing is the only other information I can see is vol.8 of the LN has a DVD, so I wonder whether it just means that. Also not sure why you are so sure "it is a remake".

As long as it diverges from the typical 1-2 episode good setup, 7-8 episodes of horrible fillers and 1-2 episodes of ending action, I'm all for the reboot.

for those who are still unsure. The reboot is starting at volume 8 of the novels. Before the dispute the novels ended at volume 7 which is around where the anime ends, so there is a chance of a second season once the novels start coming out, giving them more material. Also I think they might be doing a re-run of the first season but with updated character designs and so forth.

Well, in a way, it's not as if Ichika is the big strong man with all the women to protect. It's quite the opposite, really.

In any case, you can't lose the harem because the IS girls are amongst the best characters harems have to offer.

This show needs to keep the concept but lose the harem.
I could never forgive the fact that a now female dominated society would still devolve into a typical harem

If it's a reboot, then it should follow the light novel...the first IS had some missing characters...but if its a second season, then i hope that those characters in the light novel that didn't show up in the first IS, will get their time to show up...
