That's the main point why i'm writing a review. The story is very unique, never read something similar! Very interesting and promising so far

Characters
MC is similar to Usui from Kaichou wa maid sama, quite popular.
... The main Girl - That's what makes the story interesting, or rather thats what makes the story!
I won't spoil anything, just read it and see if you like it

Art:
The art is pretty good even though it is a 4 koma manga.

Story:
The story is actually funny since the MC is the one falling in love instead of the girl. Which leads to him making different ways to make her fall in love but you'll know what will happen once you read chapter 8 ;)

Character:
The MC is funny and quite amusing at the same time.

Overall I give this 10/10 and I am looking forward for the next chapters. And I totally recommend this one.

Very nice manga, I the male MC Shirashi isn't anything too special, it reminds me of Usui from maid-sama, the female lead Kurokawa however, she is amazing she isn't like the normal quiet shy girl, but she is actually funny, and not too dense.


I give this a 9/10 because it is really long for a romance manga, and the story is not too drained out, and there isn't too many cockblocks. I wasn't a big fan of the side characters, I mean Konno is just very bad from my perspective, but the side character that I am a fan of is the girl from Kurokawa's ... middle school, because she isn't very intrusive on their relationship compared to other girls in manga.

This manga seriously reminds me of Last Game. The male lead is almost a clone of Yanagi, and behaves very much like him. He's handsome, athletic, popular, smart, and everything you can be to meet the requirements of a shoujo male lead. And just like Yanagi, he is a bit of a tsundere and a girl magnet.

The main female, however, is quite different though than the Last Game female protagonist, Mikoto. This female lead is not so emotionless or quiet, but actually quite clumsy, popular, and hilarious. She has this "disease" where she can't help but act like a gentleman towards people. This flusters ... females and males (especially the main lead) which is always amusing to read.

The plot is what allured me to read this manga. It is interesting to see the female lead dominating the popular, good-looking, just flat out perfect shoujo guy instead having the roles other way around. But that's basically the synopsis of this story: the story of a prince-like female and the typical shoujo male falling for the female lead.

I have high hopes for this manga, and I cannot wait for the next update. If you really liked Last Game's character Yanagi and having reversed roles in shoujo, definitely check this out.

The story is good, I've read great mangas maybe on par with this but I think the charm on this is not on the storyline and I'm not saying that the story sucks I'm saying that the story is really great and there's something greater. The characters' development, their facial expressions especially when fmc has a chibi-like appearance which is kinda cute and kinda funny at the same time. And also, I laughed my ass off when I read this because of the main characters' interactions with each other especially Kurokawa and Shiraishi. ...

And I really recommend this kind of manga if you like those kind of "oresama" type of guys on shoujo mangas,

Takane no Hana nara Ochitekoi is about a popular boy named Shirashi that fits the "prince" type attractive boy trope falling for a girl named Kurokawa who also fits the "prince" trope despite being a girl. It's a 4-koma romantic comedy manga.

Romantic comedy manga that rely on concepts involving the inversion of gender roles can be extremely hit or miss for me. Many of these rely on the gag that one or both of the characters is extremely anxious to maintain their totally straight persona that it comes off as quite homophobic to me. However, I enjoy ones that don't have this problem, because I ... enjoy seeing characters that aren't afraid to buck societal norms. Therefore, I was pleased that Takane no Hana fits in the latter category. Shirashi is in fact flustered by his developing crush for Kurokawa, but his frustration is from the unraveling of his cultivated "prince" image, rather than any fear of not conforming to societal norms.

In sum, Takane no Hana nara Ochitekoi is cute, harmless fun. If you've read enough shoujo, you'll recognize the ingredients: rival couple, "prince" like girl, guy flustered by his image being toppled, but I found this to be a particularly pleasing implementation of those tropes. The one place it falls a bit short is that it sometimes relies on very culture dependent jokes that will leave non Japanese readers scratching their heads.

Overall an enjoyable, light read.

WOW this was better than I expected after having read the synopsis. A big aspect to romcoms that a lot of people dislike is when the mc takes too long, hesitates or just pussies out of situations that would usually progress the romance. I felt like in this manga the mc is NOT a pussy at all but when he messes up you can really understand him and the justification is usually satisfying.

The "side" characters where not annoying and actually helpful to the development of the main plot while being unique on their own. Some of their actions are still kinda cliché and expected ... but overall I think they fulfill their job pretty well.

The part I liked a lot about this manga was the way chapters are structured. Since it's usually just 4 panels per page, the comedic creativity makes it really great in many cases. The author is also able to really fit a lot of detail and content into each page and chapter.

In the end, I feel like this manga covered soooooooooo much in the span of 8 volumes. The ending was super satisfying and fluffy, didn't feel rushed at all. The characters were fun but got serious when it needed to be.

Loved it
