Rosario + Vampire is your usual Shounen, Supernatural, Harem, Romantic, Comedy about an average, human, high school boy (Tsukune Aono) whose thrown into a den of monsters. Sure this doesn’t seem all that original; nonetheless it’s still an enjoyable manga. ^_^
Even though this is just your average high school Rom/Com, the monster element helps this manga to stand out from the rest. The beginning basically introduces the main characters, allowing us readers to get to know them, especially focusing on the growing relationship between Tsukune (human) and Moka (vampire). But the actual content does get somewhat repetitive, with a monster randomly appearing and forcing things into fight mode. Nevertheless it’s good when the story breaks free from the usual episodic stories to surprise us with a somewhat in-depth story. The characters are what help bring it all together, including a great amount of bloody battles.
There’s nothing unique about the character set-up, seeing how it does the same old thing; by having yet another “loser-kun” male protagonist with cute, attractive girls. Each of the girls has their own unique personality and trait that separates them from one another, allowing the readers to pick their own favourite. Moreover some of the characters do break free from their stereotypical archetypes, especially Tsukune who undergoes some surprising developments.
The artwork for this manga comes in 2 forms; the most prominent being the usual day to day high school occurrences, with incredibly simplistic artwork and then there’s the pockets of action, with bloody intensifying artwork. The characters designs are somewhat imaginative but they tend to lack detail in their features. I must add that the artwork undergoes some dramatic changes, for the better, as the story progresses.
Overall Rosario + Vampire is a manga that gives of the impression of being pretty average in the beginning but will surprise its readers, with an enjoyable story later on. It’s great that in this shounen manga, the fanservice played second fiddle to the actual story. Even though things get fairly repetitive and the bad guys pretty much have the “monster of the week” set-up; the diverse main characters make up for its shortcomings and even Tsukune develops into a guy worthy of a Harem. So if you’re someone who would enjoy this sort of manga, then check it out.

Rosario + Vampire is a fairly interesting and enjoying harem series for this reviewer to come across. Unlike other typical harems, readers will come across many bloody yet entertaining battles among its chapters. The bloody battles certainly brought the best results to an artwork that gradually improves as the manga progresses.
Among some areas from the beginning, there are certain annoyances that can be a little irritating to readers. One example would involve the beginning of new chapters in which the male protaganist narrates the same scenario on attending a monster academy and making friends with other monsters such as a vampire. Another example is whenever trouble comes, the new bad guy would follow the same routine of mocking the good guys that eventually gets cliche. However as the manga progresses, these annoyances begin to lessen which can be a relief to its readers.
Despite the rough areas from the beginning, the storyline does bring out some quality depth to its readers. This depth can vary such as the politics going on in the monster world and the battles bringing out some unpredictable results.
Like other typical harems, the female protaganists have their usual attachment to the male protaganist so nothing original comes from that scenario. However, the female protaganists usually get their chance to shine in combat and present different personalities that tend to break away from being one-dimensional characters. As for the male protaganist, he certainly stands out as a quality character. The male protaganist is an average human being, yet his will to protect his friends no matter what the costs certainly makes him a very likable character in this manga.
For harem fans that are interested in seeing a romance/comedy that provides good action and interesting depth to its storyline should consider checking out the manga of Rosario + Vampire. read more

When I first saw Rosario + Vampire I thought it was actually made by the same creator as To-Love-Ru and was surprised that it wasn't. Rosario + Vampire has the same type of Super Powerful girl loves normal boy setup and the characters are also High School students. The random humor and ecchi scenarios that add a lot to To-Love-Ru's charm are also common to Rosario + Vampire, although Rosario + Vampire has a bit darker and action filled plot. Anyway I'm sure that if you’re a fan of To-Love-Ru you’ll be a fan of Rosario + Vampire from the moment you start it.
They're both comedic harems
Both of this manga's are about a boy who is meets a beautiful girl, and thus dragging even more girls to him like a magnet!
The fact is that in To-LOVE-Ru, the leading character is different, but with time he does change just like Tskune.
He becomes a man who can stand up for himself and for the sake of others as well.
both manga's have a boy character (Rito and Tsukune) that have girls (who aren't normal) falling in love with them. both are funny as they have the boys (who aren't perverted) have perverted stuff happen to them. so they blush, apologise, and look VERY uncomfortable. (lol)
in To-Love-Ru the perverted stuff (usually) is an accident, while in Rosario plus Vampire the girls (usually) do perverted things to woo him. (which never ever works)
while both are perverted it dosen't show anything too much. (in bath and ect. mostly covered.) so i would give both a PG-13 warning to all.
also both have strong feelings of friendship.
both have some action (more in Rosario plus Vampire), alot of twists, and alot of characters so sometimes you can forget peoples names.
over all i would recommend this to people who are older and like romantic comedys with some action and alot of twists in them.

Mx0 and Rosario+Vampire is quite similar. In Mx0, the main character has to lie about being able to use magic. In R+V, the main character has to hide the fact that he's human. Both manga are school-based. A sense of romance is also hinted in both - more so in the case of R+V.
However, Mx0 is more light hearted compared to R+V. Nonetheless, the similarities are quite presenting.
Both Rosario+Vampire and Mx0 are high school Supernatural, Rom/Coms; but R+V focuses more on monsters and the romantic comedy side of things, on the other hand Mx0 focuses more on its characters and magical wizardry. ^_^
While the supernatural settings are different, it involves the same situation in where the male protaganist must hide his image from school.
Both main characters get into an rather unfortunate situation, one ends up at a school of monsters, and one ends up at a magic school. Both are in a situation, that when they tell they are human, they die. So both keep it quiet and keep acting. They get in several fights dangering their identity, but through monstrous and magical friends, they survive and keep getting into weird situations, great fights and humorous scene's.
