Synopsis

The story takes place in the second half of the 19th century, as Japanese culture gains popularity in the West. A young Japanese girl, Yune, accompanies a French traveller, Oscar, on his journey back to France, and offers to help at the family's ironwork shop in Paris. Oscar's nephew and shopowner Claude reluctantly accepts to take care of Yune, and we learn how those two, who have so little in common, get to understand each other and live together in the Paris of the 1800s.

Story- This a quite original story. It shows a solid historical and cultural background by adding as two main protagonists, a french boy and a japanese girl in the Victorian Era. This is the story of Yune, a 13 year old girl who arrives in Paris in order to stay with a family as a waitress, and at the same time, to learn and study about the Occident.

Art- The art can be described as intricate and detailed in the sceneries, clothes and accessories. As for the characters, the art is very cute being the general trademark.

Character- The characters are the best in the manga: read more

Both are on Victorian Era. Young girl starts living in the company of an older guy who is serious and distant at first but later warms up to her and the two develop an unique relationship and a strong bond. Also, in both the hero has a childhood friend that has feelings for him. Very cute story/art in both.
Both involve a positive young Meiji era girl trying their best in a culture completely alien to them. In the case of Croisee, it's Paris at that time; in Hatsuhana, it's modern day Japan.
