Includes manga with creatures from legends (e.g. youkai), or stories that rely heavily on myths/mythical themes for the plot (so no slice-of-life comedies that just happen to have inhuman characters, for example). Ghosts, zombies, werewolves, dragons, random demons etc. are omitted; there are too many manga with those, as they are far more popular than other legends. Urban horror legends aren't included either (like in Terror Night, for example). Manga that features yokai as its main subject or a main character/cast of characters who tell stories relating to yokai. Some of these stories may be resolved by the said cast of characters but it also can just be a story. "Best" is subjective, but I think we can all agree that, in a manga, there is always that one arc that blows the rest of the story in the water: a turning point where the status quo is challenged and the plot reaches higher stakes. Basically, the peak of a series. Order is from ochd.co.uk, so it may not be alphabetical Same rules just like other stacks and this will be last one i do for a while. I am trying to read more manga from different era's, so here is a list of JUMP manga from the 2000's. If you're interested as well take a look. Some older ones missing that I can't find on MAL: |
