Just read the manga, this is the second best Basketball Manga after Slam Dunk in my opinion (without superpower of course), the story starts by the Main Character Sora Kurumatani who went to highschool with no official basketball club. He gathered all the member by himself (some of them are gangster, who can't play & just start to learn, but some others are ex player which is experienced, reliable & cool )

Fyi: The main character height is only 149cm, (Sora The Wingless Duck) . but still play basketball and became heart & soul of the team.

The character is what shine here.

Manga: Shinyaku "Kyojin no Hoshi" Hanagata
Same kind of a feeling even thou two different kind of sports. Both have same type of setting for being unknown school and second rated club/ or no club at all. There are also delinquents forming the the team and also known more as trouble makers than players.

Manga: 15: Meisetsu Kougyou Koukou Rugby-bu
At the first sight both are stories about a boy coming from country side to a bigger town with a wish joining to a high school team and make new friends. As well both main protagonist have a talent that gives them a special kind of aura of a talent. All they want is to get chance to play rugby/ basketball and get better in their chosen sports. Both boys are also small sized and seemingly not fitting to their beloved sports but that doesn't stop them from playing. Size doesn't matter that much. They believe that even though being a small one can do  read more

Manga: Slam Dunk
Obviously both about basketball however that isn't really what makes them similar. Perhaps it is better to say they are the inverse of one another, in Ahiru no Sora the MC is a small, happy-go-lucky high schooler who sets out to make an official basketball club which until this point has been the den for a group of delinquents. Instead of Slam Dunk where a tall and highly athletic delinquent who has never played before joins a somewhat distinguished basketball team. The key difference would be that Ahiru no Sora has slightly more focus on Slice of Life elements, however it clearly is influenced by  read more

Manga: Kuroko no Basket
Basketball, that's what these two series are about, they also deal with "new" players and school basketball teams which need to prove themselves against others. Through struggles here and there they manage to get through. Some characters are pretty similar, just as some matches and particular scenes.

Manga: Cross Over
They are like the same story, same theme, just a little different.. but only a little... :p both good sports anime

Manga: Haikyuu!!
Both protagonists lift the spirit of their teammates, short and not one to be looked down upon. The other characters are also likable. There is comedy and a road to becoming the best (kind of obvious).
