Crafted from same author, Oresama Teacher and Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun share some special similarities with its setting and characters. Both series' main male protagonists are considered tough on the outside but soft on the inside when it comes to association with those they care about. At the same time, we have a main female character who gets herself into odd circumstances with others. With a colorful cast of characters, there's plenty of drama and comedy that spawn from both series. While Oresama Teacher has a story, Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun relies on its gags and gimmicks to produce worthwhile comedy. I recommend both series especially for  read more

Both are comedies that start off with the girl's confession being confused for something else by the guy. Both are 4 panel manga and are light-hearted and easy to read. There isn't really a plot, only school setting comedy and very slight romance. Both series are sure to make you laugh at each page. The characters aren't terribly similar, although the dynamic between Tomo and Junichirou reminds me of Hori and Kashima from GSNK somewhat. Still, they're all very likeable and entertaining.

Romantic comedy of several pairings within a group of friends. Both also centers on otaku culture, in which the characters in Wotaku are anime or game otaku, and the characters in Gekkan Shoujo write manga. Wotaku is set in an office and the romance is more progressed, while Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun is set in school. However, both series have similar atmosphere being a light read comedy with unique and lovable characters.

Both are humorous 4-koma series which feature characters who make fun of popular shoujo troops. Like the handsome popular guy who is actually really a goof or the unintentionally dashing girl.

There is a main trio of characters of two guys and one girl, but the second guy maintains a completely platonic relationship with the two other characters and it's never a love triangle. The most similar aspect is the in-universe shoujo mangaka who bases their main heroine on their friend as well as hiding their second identity from everyone else in the school. Although Otomen has a little bit more romance than gekkan, both are funny, adorable and light-hearted and a great read. A lot of similar vibes.

Two lighthearted and delightful reads set in high school with the protagonists from their respective series, Chiyo and Natsuki dealing with their one-sided crushes. Both series are drawn cleanly and beautifully and contain a loveable bunch of supporting characters, bound to make you smile.

Romance between main characters, light-hearted, and somewhat raunchy humor (mostly Senryuu). While Senryuu is focused on poems similar (senryuu) that are similar to haikus. Gekkan Shoujo is focused on Nozaki finding ideas for his shoujo manga and his everyday life and interactions between his friends.

relationship can be funny too

The comedy of both is very good! And both the characters and the same sleeve combined Gekkan Shoujou Nozaki-kun be a goner .... Horimiya gives you hope it will have a romantic scene much like both think the two are very funny is like Gintama only with romance

while it is no wonder that they have some differences such as both series don't belong to the same demographic, Bakuman lends on the side of pursuing your dream of becoming a mangaka while Gekkan Shoujo is about a guy who has already been a mangaka, they both follow the story of making manga. Bakuman and Gekkan Shoujo both have romantic element throughout the story (but different in the way of portrait), putting factors from real life to your works and the life of people involve in the process of making manga. If you love manga and want to know what behind the scene, read  read more

It's funny how turned those ala shoujo manga moments into something hilarious.

If you really liked any of these two mangas then I assure you that you will also enjoy the other. Both of these are RomCom and are set in a high school setting. They feature all sorts of different and fun characters but focus on the 2 main characters which have a thing for each other. At the start of each manga, the main characters struggle to get their "senpai", (but not really a senpai.. do you get what i mean?) if you will, but later their relationship with that person gets deeper and blossoms into romance but so far that is only applicable for  read more

ichimaki subaru = umetarou, nozaki and mikoshiba, mikoto usami mizuki = sakura, chiyo president = maeno, mitsuya misunderstanding romance problem , male main character is focus on her work than romance, have the same level of romance that you will never get bored when you read, if you like all of those then you will like both of this manga. although the character i put on top have few similarities.

both are slice of life comedies about a girl who tends to over think situations and are both hopeless romantics who are in love with dense hotties.
reportRecommended by BagOWeeb
Well actually they're not that similar I just get the same vibe from both mangas - COMEDY - High School Setting - Random stuff keeps on happening
reportRecommended by violetwillreign
Both are very fun romance-themed comedy 4-koma manga, that tend to build up hilariously comedic misunderstandings in a similar way. Both parody cliché romance tropes and put their own spin on it. Both have very fun and loveable characters and multiple couples that get built up.

Same sense of humour and same art style. Mei Sengoku reminds me a lot of Seo/Kashima in terms of their personalities. Gekkan is funnier but Mizutama has more fleshed out characters and more of a linear plotline.

Although they are two different genres, this shoujo is different in the sense that it's quite comedic although it does have its serious moments. The same kind of sense of comedy and art style is found in Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun for sure.

A male character who is aloof but sweet. Q & A has actual romance though but very similar vibe as Nozaki-Kun. The main female character is more coveted and known as the ice princess unlike the female character in Nozaki-Kun. Both are very good, slice of life romance stories

A lot of comedic events and misunderstandings. Similarish humor and have a main cast but also occasionally focuses on the side characters. Both are a fun read.

They are both romantic highschool comedies. They really do give off the same feel.
reportRecommended by LaithaMcgane
They both have similar story lines about falling for a mangakaka(manga author). And how they create their manga. They both are wholesome have romantic elements. But this has more romantic elements than monthly girls' Nozaki-kun.
reportRecommended by sweetlvr4u
It's written in the same format (4-koma/4-panel) and has short and sweet chapters for the most part. They both have the painfully oblivious main love interests that develop their relationships past their respective idealiztaions of each other. The comedy is mainly based on quirkyness and slightly exaggerated personalities, but still enjoyable nonetheless. They both also talk about their respective fields in depth; GSN, manga and the makings of storylines/manuscripts. Buccafe, Buddhist practices, holidays, lifestyle, etc. Their art styles are also relatively similar in terms of realism with a hint of characterization, GSN being the more realistic of the two most of the time.

- Comedy centric - Both focus on the relations and interactions between characters - Very unique characters - Comedic relief
reportRecommended by chocoLasen
Both characters feature hardcore otaku that try to live in a normal setting, so if you enjoy people trying to hide their very special hobby, then you ll like both manga.
reportRecommended by xShinigami3125
Large and oblivious male love interest and tiny cute FMC. In Senpai ga Uzai, the FMC is in denial of her interest in the ML, whereas in Nozaki-kun, the FMC believes it is unrequited love. Cute, short, low-drama chapters with lots of lovable characters. If you liked either one, you will almost definitely like the other!
reportRecommended by buggaboo1021
Both are comedy slice of life manga with rather plain protagonists, which are surrounded by a cast of colorful characters, in a highschool.
reportRecommended by xShinigami3125
Unless you live and die by perverted humor, Nozaki-kun is also adept at being a 4koma, and those who are fans of the rapid-fire pace of SYD would also like GSNK, even though the humor subject matter is different.
reportRecommended by SNaG21
Both are humorous 4-koma set in high school. Azumanga Daioh doesn't have a romantic subplot, but it'll be sure to tickle your fancy if you enjoyed Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun and its humour.
reportRecommended by thatgirlsagenius
If you're looking for a similar OTT humour style, then try School Rumble! Both have a romantic plot, are relatively episodic and subvert romantic cliches such as the high school mangaka and love misunderstandings tropes.

In both series, a prominent theme that is part of the premise is comic/manga making. The main protagonists attempts to craft manga although their limited skills puts them under stress at first. However, their skills does evolve and we see more of their potentials. Both series has a colorful cast of characters as well as focus on relationships. Hope takes on a more dramatic approach with realism while Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun mostly adapts comedy with its content. There is also romance although portrayed differently between these two series.

Barakamon and Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun are slice of life series that offers a lot of satisfying humor. Both series' main male protagonists has a passion for art and they try to show their talents. However, the main part of both series' content involves character relationships as they build them with others. There is a good amount of realism as well that relates to their professions. Additionally, both series knows its way with characterization.
reportRecommended by Stark700
Rom-com series involving a group of friends with eccentric personalities. There are multiple couples in both, and the characters are pretty oblivous about romance which makes the story leans towards comedy more.
reportRecommended by Shirayukin
Genshiken and Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun has a refreshing sense of comedy when it comes to storytelling. Both series' cast of characters have diverse personalities but similar interests. They also have an interest in crafting creative work such as manga or comic books. Throughout both series, there is evident romance that develops although most of this is portrayed as casual rather than dramatic. But in terms of humor, I find both series' dialogues, character interactions, and jokes to be well presented with a genuine attempt to present comedy.
reportRecommended by Stark700
I recommend this series because just like Handa-kun, in GSNK (Gekka Shoujo Nozaki-kun) the doing of the characters are misunderstood and leads to really comical situations. And just like Handa, Nozaki is pretty much clueless about many things and has poor communicative skills, which probably lead to more comical misunderstandings. It's also a very enjoyable serie because of the characters and their relationships. It's really good and funny, I really recomend it!!

Similar premise wherein a high school girl has a crush on a guy, and wants to confess to him but he mistakes her confession for something else. Similar style of humour as well, highly rec! J Wota also has a lot of references to fandom and being an otaku, which is really fun.
reportRecommended by recoveryclap
Both have unorthodox comedy, shoujo parody, with refreshing and hilarious characters (Yankee to Yandere is more focus on the main male characters while GSNK has more female characters).. If you like one, you'll definitely enjoy the other!

Both written in a four-coma comic style, both are extremely funny with creative and wacky characters

In both they discover the person they love is a manga artist. The difference is the sex gender.

Both manga features a tiny girl in love with a much taller guys.

A normal(leaning towards stupid) girl likes a guy who is very dense. But the girl still pursues the guy and lead a warm fun life

Both male leads are dumb but in a cute way, and both mangas are funny
