Preliminary Spoiler

True stories never fail to grab my attention, especially in the manga world because there are very few. I started reading Yomawari Sensei not onlt because of this, but also because it was short and had good ratings on MAL. I finished it in about 2 hours and I'd like to share what I thought made Yomawari Sensei a masterpiece. This is my first review so it might be a little bit amateurish.

Story:9
Yomawari Sensei is an episodic manga that follows the life of our main character, Osamu Mizutani, as a teacher who helps troubled youth. Every chapter is quite simple. Mizutani finds a troubled youth, ...

It has been a very long time since a story touched me as profoundly as this one. As an average young adult, I felt like the author was speaking directly to my soul; the principles and virtues put forward are what we should all be striving towards to make this world a better place.

The true story of Osamu Mizutani's life resonates with what makes us human, encourages us to keep the faith and look forward to the bright future. This manga filled me with optimism while also bringing me to tears.

Preliminary (25/45 chp)
Story was incredibly realistic. It doesn't pull any punches when it comes to highlighting the terrible aspects of existence.
It doesn't glorify anything, instead using the constant negative aspects to promote an ultimately positive and meaningful message.
The manga repeats over and over again that many children are tortured, essentially, by bad parenting and a lack of attention and help from society as a whole. I find this highly relevant and important - I can recommend the manga for this reason alone.

Art doesn't mean anything to me but I found it very good.

The protagonist exemplifies everything good about humanity. Some may find him too ...

To be completely honest this is a masterpiece.

With this manga it explores a lot of dark themes but always brings out a positive message. It is about a high school teacher who does night patrol (which is based of the experiences the author had doing this) in summary.

Art (7/10)

For most of it the art isn't insane but Its not terrible. Its the only psrt that isnt a 10/10

Story (10/10)

A story that could be reality of some of you or just a dark fantasy for the others however the kind of abusing, harassment and violence existe I our societies regardless the manga a fantasy work but based on some true stories as the author said , if you about to read this don't consider it as an entertaining thing you should be aware that some experiences here are rough to handle and if you going throughout any sort of stuff should ask for help , asking for help is a step for solution is called courage because it require strength it's not weakness, ...

TL;DR: The manga is an easy 10/10 if you focus more on the emotions and lessons presented in this, but it can still be a good 7 or 8/10 manga if you focus more on the objective quality, since it is not too complex of a story and the conclusion of the manga doesn't feel like a true ending, it is just the point where the manga runs out of stories to tell. The art style is highly detailed and realistic, in tone with the grim, yet hopeful manga which presents slightly altered real life stories of young people that the writer of this manga ...

DISCLAIMER: this review was written before I learned that this is a collection of true stories which largely changes how one interprets the story ofc so a large majority of this review isn't really applicable anymore but I spent enough time writing it that I don't want to just erase it from existence

I really do wish I could say that I enjoyed Yomawari Sensei more than I did but throughout a good chunk of my reading experience and time reflecting on it after I've finished it, just feels like a work with so much genuine heart that just couldn't live up to it's potential.

The ...
