Recommendations

The basic premise of both of these romantic comedies involve promises made between childhood friends and the misunderstandings that follow.

Both are created by Akamatsu Ken. Negima and Love Hina both start off with the harem phase but Negima quickly turns into something else while still maintaining that Love Hina feel. Some characters look strikingly similar to each other as well.

Both protagonists are in essentially identical situations, where the main character are nearly clones of their counterparts in the series. They have the same behaviour, reactions, and similar appearance to the character(s) in the other series. Love Hina is probably more ecchi, but that's not saying Ai Kora isn't ecchi at all.

For the harem fan who doesn't easily get deterred by redundancy... Boy meets girl, boy likes girl... 3-5 more girls enter the picture... despite his loser status, he sure does become popular... things get complicated as more and more girls fall for him... and him for them. They show their love by beating his ass. We are all amused.

Same person wrote this as Love Hina, and also came after this. the chick in Love Hina also looks the same. Also same stupid funny humor. A good follow up. ^_^

They share the same type of main character: a shy, wimp male protagonist surrounded by beautiful girls, often victim of misunderstandings and thus beaten up after involuntary embarassing situations. Eventually, he also starts to get the affection of those girls thanks to his kindness and goodwill. Besides, he is irresolute with his feelings in love triangles, a situation that easily leads to comedy and funny situations in both mangas. The main differences are that To LOVE-Ru is also heavy ecchi, with a lot of nudes and fanservice, as well as full harem without settling relationships, while Love Hina quickly develops into a romantic triangle.

Both situations of the protagonist and heroine of the series are very similar, the guy has no girlfriend since birth and the girl intentionally showing no interest for the guy though secretly falling...

the "guy in dorm" situation is present in both, and both contain quite a bit of romance suzuka is more realistic, and hina is more.. ..comedy/fictionalish =P both are decent anyway

guy staying in area with people (girls )with very diverse personalities ..both good romcoms

Main character has problems expressing his true feelings to female lead character. Harem type situations.

Boy lives with a group of girls under one roof. Girls all misunderstand him and think he's a pervert. The only real difference between the two manga is that in Love Hina the main character is trying to study and get into a University wile living in an all womens dorm where as in Ashita no Yoichi the main character is training to help better himself as a samurai and the dojo happens to be full of just women.
reportRecommended by DeathfireD
Male and female lead have long lost memories in their childhood. The strong tsundere female lead doesn't realise her true feelings for the male lead until later.

Weird connection but, aoki and keitaro are the same character just an age difference. I feel that people don't like Kodomo no Jikan for the under-age love, but honestly I laughed much more then cringed through out the series. The second connection is that they are both romantic comedies, love hina though being more "romantic".

They are both harems but love hina is more so. They reason why I say they are a good recommendation is better then evoke the same emotions in he readers.

A guy living with multiple girls and falling in love with the main female character. While giving a different feeling, both are similar and both are directed to comedy

Although Co-Ed is a hentai and Love Hina is more of a ..."not hentai" anime, what holds these two series strongly in similarity is the power of two inter-connecting relationships between two people. (also the bathing motif is strong in both) For people who've already read Love Hina, think of Co-ED as a more perverted two couple episodic story between only Keitaro and Naru (or maybe replace Naru with Kitsune...or cosplay a male Kitsune who's enslaving Shinobu...) but reverse the gender roles and reduce the beat ups and you get the feel of Co-ED Sexxtasy although the dated artwork and bondage scenes might turn off those  read more

Boy meets girl, boy likes girl, boy has a problem to getting the girl cause 3-6 more other girls enter the picture. Despite his loser status, he starts becoming popular. Things get complicated as more and more girls fall for him. Then they show their love by beating his ass.

Light hearted with comedy and some action.Kagami no kuni is a short manga which is a very good read

Ecchi romantic comedies about loser boys who try to better themselves in order to win the hearts of beautiful girls.
reportRecommended by Jerakor
Both are Harem series where the main character is forced into an all girls situation. Love Hina focuses a bit more on the romance towards the end
reportRecommended by DravoRios
Magetsukan Kitan is Love Hina, if the main character were slightly older, the main girl slightly less violent, and all the other girls were monsters. They have a similar premise, similar comedy, similar level of ecchi-ness.
reportRecommended by Jerakor
The protagonist lives in a building with some history, with most of the other important characters.

Video Girl Ai is for me the best word of Mazakazu Katsura. Is a romantic comedy with drama moments, and all gones with a perfect draw.
reportRecommended by gouketsu
-You want your main character thrown to Kingdom Come -You want him to be a bumbling fool that grabs things "accidentally" -You want the budding relationship to be funny -You want to laugh at what happens to your character when he does something stupid Then this is a good manga you should read. Honestly.

Guy likes girl. Girl likes guy. Should be simple, but it's not. There are so many different kinds of obstacles that keep the two apart, with the majority of them being crazy misunderstandings. There's a lot of romantic drama in both, to the point it will make you want to pull your hair out as to why the pair hasn't gotten together yet. They're frustrating, but they keep you hooked.

Both revolve around male protagonists who find themselves living with a number of female characters. Romance, comedy, and ecchi characterise both of these titles.
reportRecommended by radiantfire
These two manga series have a very similar basic story, of a single young man living in a boarding house full of girls. Love Hina leans more toward the comedy of the situation, while Ai Yori Aoshi leans more towards the romantic aspects.

Both of these serialisations not only revolve around a male protagonist being surrounded by many female characters. Both feature a lot of comedy, romance, and ecchi.
reportRecommended by radiantfire
In these two serialisations, the male protagonist ends up living with a number of females who start to grow attracted to him. Both also belong to the comedy, romance, and ecchi genres.
reportRecommended by radiantfire
At their core, both series are romantic comedies. They are both light-hearted harems and are highly enjoyable to read.
reportRecommended by radiantfire
Pretty much the same ecchi style. Both are perverted. And lots of harem and also, the boys are clumsy.
reportRecommended by Kyo_Kagami
Harem comedy with male protagonist often in accidentally lascivious situations
reportRecommended by jimbo1023
Same atmosphere, alike themes. Both main characters, simon and keitaro are getting in big troubles.
reportRecommended by bereta002
Both series situate a ronin male protagonist in the presence of female housemates.
reportRecommended by radiantfire
Both talk about the story of a loser boy who was never close to the girls and one day end up friends with a pretty girl and then, friends with several girls. Both have ecchi scenes too. Also, some characters are very similar. Keitaro and Tsukune are the main, both are losers , Kurumu and Narusegawa are hot blooded girls, Shinobu and Yukari are childs with child acts who loves main and Moka/Inner Moka looks like a split of Narusegawa's personalities.
reportRecommended by bereta002
At first everyone thinks bad about main character(boy), but after that many girls fall in love with him
reportRecommended by doorotka
Main character fails at the entrance exam into a university, then he starts to live with many girls in one house
reportRecommended by doorotka
A young man striving to get into the University of his dreams. With no help at the ALL girls dormitory he manages. A sweeter LOVE STORY with a less hardcore ECCHI scenes.
