This is probably one of the best shounen-ai mangas i've read so far.
There's no hardcore stuff here, just kissing and a bit of embracing.
The art is so beautiful, the characters are funny, and the story is cute. It's about two friends who's relationship becomes a bit more after a night of surprise passion. Again, nothing real big.
Though it had me wishing there was more, I'm satisifed with this one-shot.

Writing a quick review because I honestly didn't understand how the other two reviews rated this as a "masterpiece."
Decent story, with little to no character development, which is partially due to it being a rather short one-shot. Simple and cute art. A quick and cute read, but by no means a masterpiece of the shounen-ai genre. Clichéd, and you can find dozens of better variations of this. I recommend this to someone who's new to shounen-ai. More experienced readers will find this mediocre and overrated.

This is definitely one of my favorite manga with boy x boy love.
Gimmick is quite unique in my opinion,i really love the way they got to be closer and it is purely awesome,wish there would be another manga that would resemble Gimmick. The art is purely beautiful and the characters sure had nice personalities . :D It is worth reading , even if you're not the type that would be interested in mangas with boy x boy love,it has no hardcore scenes since it's shounen ai. Read it!You won't regret it!

Gimmick is a one-shot shounen-ai about two friends falling in love after a night of passion. It is a mediocre take on an extremely common trope in the shounen-ai and yaoi genres. On top of the story being a cliche, it suffers from being a short one-shot. Many one-shots are able to convey this type of story much more successfully because their characters are more fleshed out and the story is much longer than Gimmick's.
