- Magic and Science are exist in both novels, with the only difference is that in MKNR both aspect are supporting each other, while in TAMNI they are just simply coexist. - Protagonists from both novels are considered weak (both Tatsuya and Touma) by their respective society(Tatsuya for being unable to use magic properly and Touma for being unable to display any Esper power). And despite being weak, both of them possess unusual ability.

Light novels with large list of characters based around the intertwining actions of this large cast. Both also feature supernatural powers based on mythology.

Novels about a man with his own sense of justice who keeps encountering girls with some unnatural problem and helping them.

Light novels written by same author, both have mysterious characters with mysterious powers that include harder to understand complicated supernatural abilities that might be based on some kind of concept.

Being one of the first works of To Aru Majutus no Index's author, you can see it as a sort of prototype bearing main signs of his writing style - the helping protagonist, the worldbuilding based on special circumstances/powers of the characters and the interesting plot twists.

Teenagers acquiring various supernatural powers, running around the city and fighting others with supernatural powers. If that is your jam, perhaps you'll like these two titles.

Both are pretty dark and have alot of characters that are morally grey.

And by extension shinyaku as well, both written by Kamachi, both have heros fighting against incredible odds to bring smiles to other people's face and both series have villins that are so powerful they can never be truly defeated or thwarted.

Main character finds himself constantly in situations in which feels obligated to someone from supernatural danger, usually using supernatural means himself to do the saving. Most of the characters in need of saving are girls and so a defacto harem gradually builds around the protagonist, though in those cases the harem element thanskfully doesn't make the story go bad.

Protagonist is a true champion of genred equality, not afraid to hit whoever crosses his way regardless of their gender. While both have comedy elements, Konosuba is pure comedy while Index is more serious. Both are light novels.

Main character finds himself constantly in situations in which he sets on saving someone from supernatural danger, using supernatural means himself. Most of the characters in need of saving are girls and so a group of female admirers slowly builds around the protagonist. The novel still stays story oriented and doesn't get distracted by harem aspects much. Most of the story is happening within one city.

Involves the church and another opposing ideal that is science. Index of Toaru and Fenesis of Magdala have similar characteristics, both in personalities and in appearance. Both heroines are knowledgeable about the church but not so much in science. The heroines are also suffer from curses early in the series. The main protagonists in both series (Kamijou and Kuusla) are considered heroes to the nuns.

Created by same author, Index and Heavy Object appeals to sci-fi and experimentation that extends beyond imagination. Both series' main male protagonist also has similar personalities and often gets themselves into events that has their life in jeopardy. Throughout both series, we also learn more about the many complicated mechanics that revolves in their world. These have great impact on their society as well as their past, present, and future.

Both medium of work involves the concept of espers, beings who are capable of performing supernatural feats through their abilities. The main characters from both series gets involved with events that tests their abilities to their limits. And as both stories progresses, theories and evolutions progresses involving experimentations. The main characters faces off against powerful adversaries while also discovering more about their own potentials.

Both titles are comedic and interesting at times! But the biggest similarity is that both use mythology as a big basis for spells and enemies! Those who enjoy learning mythology while reading light novels will surely enjoy this! :D

-Magic and Science. But TAMNI seratates them, MKNR unites them. -Academy. It's a school life i mean. -Harem. The protagonist somewhat becomes so popular.

I feel the main characters Tsuna and Touma are similar. Both are drawn into a world thy didn't know existed or particularly want to be a part of (the mafia in Tsuna's case, and the conflict of magic and science in Touma's case). I also think that Touma and Tsuna have slightly similar reactions to some things. They're both also terrible at school work...

Both light novels have a huge (and I mean huuuuge) cast of characters that is full of unique entities. The novel is structured in a way that it tells about intertwined fates of those characters as interract between themselves, setting things in motion that tend to have a payout later in the story. Both also deal with the supernatural.

Protagonist in magical setting accidentally gathers absurdly large harem of girls with various abilities.

Fantasy works that draw on mythology and religion heavily, incorporating those into their power system. Both have harem undertones but the protagonist isn't the usual wimpy one harems tend to have, but a man of action. What started off by the main character accidentallying himself into some sort of scheme late turned into the protagonist getting involved in various situations to protect what is dear to him.
