SynopsisCoud is a young sky pirate who discovered a girl with mysterious powers on what had seemed like a routine mission. This is a manga I'm following very closely. After watching the anime, I felt something was missing. Something very big, and that was more character development and plot development. Only watching the anime did not satisfy me, so I obviously tracked down the manga when I heard it was being released in the US.
To my surprise there were some differences between the anime and manga. The manga is more, how can I put it, edgy. It has the ability to do what it wants more then what the anime would have. So you get to see more skin, and a bit more fanservice. (This manga is not about fanservice BTW)
Getting back to the point. The story is nothing that you haven't seen at it's roots. Boy meets girl, girl has something important to do, boy and girl set out on adventure meeting and making new friends and enemies along the way. But the way the story is told is quite interesting. If you're one of those fans for adventure, some romance, and comedy manga, then check this one out.
The art is outstanding. From the action scenes, all the way down to the chibi comedy. The artwork is amazing...The detail for the characters is great, and so is the scenery. There is really high quality work going on in the pages of the manga.
Characters are pretty interesting. We have your average, teenage male protagonist, and cute female protagonist. Along with your not so normal cast of bad guys and good guys. Drawn amazingly well, and even the minor characters are drawn with great detail. The main characters are interesting and keep the story moving along very well.
I'm still enjoying the manga. If you seen the anime, you have to go read the manga. If you're looking for something new to read, then read a few chapters of this first. This manga isn't for everyone, but I enjoyed seeing as how I loved the anime. Overall this manga gets a 10 from me. read more

Both are an action/adventure with a slight romantic and comedic element. Both stories center around a group of five, trying to protect a "princess" of sorts.
Both manga have fantasy, action, romance, and some comedy. Both follow the adventures of a group, which, travelling from one place to another, tries to protect a princess and to achieve an objective (in Tsubasa, to recover Sakura’s feathers, in EG, to reach Adil Garden).
Both have fights, drama and some violence here and there.
Also, both Ren and Sakura fall asleep continuously.

Flag Of Blue Sky is Elemental Gelade's spin-off. While in EL there is a princess who's being protected but also fights, in Flag Of Blue Sky it's the main character who is a princess. Some characters of EL appear in the spin-off as well.
If you liked one you'll like the other too.
