Both series involve gods who have grown tired of their complacent perfection in the heavens, treachery amongst the gods, and generally emphasize that immortality is not all it is cracked up to be. Beautiful, divine-looking artwork contrasts these stories' dark and often cruel undertones.

Love stories between mortal humans and immortal gods.

Despite the very different settings, both works are highly philosophical and existential in nature. While one deals more with questions of how we understand the world around us, the other deals with questions how we understand and value life, existence.

A story focusing on the relationships of ancient mythological Gods and the human ways they act. Both have stunning art and find ways to mix what we know to be real with fantasy, I imagine if I was an anthropologist these would be my favorite manga.

To deal with the inescapable boredom and pain of immortality.

They're both supernatural-fantasy mangas. 'Olimpos' isn't really shounen-ai, but both of these mangas have pretty boys. XD Haha, well, either way...Just read 'Olimpos'. It's really good.

Simple similarities: Same Mangaka, Aki. If you liked the look of the characters from Olimpos, there are similar characters in A*D. Minus the godly status and Grecian clothing. A*D has 1800s European setting with a more funny set of main characters.

Both mangas are from different genres - though they have some BL undertones -, but have the same atmosphere. Both are about gods who got tired of spending their times alone in heaven and then suddenly have a human to play with.

Both take place in ancient Greece. Olimpos is focused on gods and has better art while Legend of the Nereid has better developed story.

Both have gods who keep somebody (the prince and a doll) in a garden to which normal people cannot come.

Aki's writing and drawing style has matured greatly from her first to second work. Nearly every page in Olimpos features intricate drawings and the story has darker tone than Utahime. Both deal with the idea of captivity for strange or unknown reasons.
