Mangaka for the Fairy Tail series, Hiro Mashima, has announced on Twitter that he will be starting a new manga series. He did not announce what the series will be, but he clearly states that the Fairy Tail manga is not over yet and that he will work on both series at the same time.

Mashima also stated on Twitter that he has proved to be able to work on two manga series simultaneously when he had Groove Adventure Rave serialized and was working on what would soon to become Fairy Tail.

God damn, there are some mangakas that are barely able to churn out chapters on a weekly basis or a monthly basis even and here we have Hiro Mashima

Didn't Mashima once say he wanted to do a romance manga after he was done with Fairy Tail? If so, then this is probably it.

I'm assuming whatever the new series is it will be a monthly series. I can't see how working on two different weekly series not affect both of their qualities not to mention not to mention the toll Mashima would be putting on himself. Either way I agree with you that it's pretty crazy. Props to him.

He's pretty well known for his speed at producing chapters.

I hope we can get a title of this series soon though.

Damn, that's crazy. I'm not exactly caught up with the manga but his art seems pretty consistent so far. I remember when he pumped out 3 chapters in a week, unreal

Niizuma eiji was able to draw 2 series at the same time, Mashima can too! Lol

Anyways the dude can churn out chapters quick. How he did 3 chapters in one week without taking breaks is crazy.

I hope this one will be something more serious than Fairy Tail. Also, Rave Master anime when? A lot of anime has been getting remake recently so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for this too.

I love this post a little too much.

Just read the bio Stark posted. Pretty awesome how fast he was able to do all that.

New material is always welcome. I was never a fan of nakama power but FT's entertaining.

Cant say i'm really interested but hopefully it's going to be quite different to what he's done before.
Though I guess different means taking a risk...

I know I shit on Fairy Tail quite a bit but i'm not blind, I can see how Mashima tries to constantly stay in touch with fans. Posting lots of art and even trying to communicate in English for his English speaking fanbase.

I really like his artstyle for female characters. I hope he unleash the beast within and draw us some nice ecchi/harem. He has superb talent in it. FT fan services has been taunting me for a while.

when you get to his level, im pretty sure 70% of the drawing is done by his assistants. i think all he really does now are the storyboards (aka quick sketches of how the panels look) and ofc the story itself (which he probably has an editor or two helping with that). when you're a high profile mangaka like hiro, your work is like running a business lol.

Now that was fast. Seriously though, he should spend more time thinking of the plot and the story for Fairy Tail instead of adding more and more pointless fanservices and writing new manga.

I feel like it's a crime having the ability to draw girls that sexy and not do hentai.
I've got two pics on my About me from it that may have been unnecessary, but HAWT.

I believe Mashima is well known for churning out insane amount of work within a very short time. Considering he did 3 chapters in 1 week without breaks.

Lol Mashima. Is FT getting boring even for him?

Well I hope his another series will be a different type. Romance, thriller, horror, slice of life or whatever. Cuz if he is planning to draw it alongside with FT then surely it won't be another action battle-shonen manga right?

I bet he wants to draw a romance series since he can barely insert romance elements into FT.

There we have Hiro Mashima who is starting new manga series despite having working on one and here we have lazy Yoshihiro Togashi (mangaka of HxH) continuing his record breaking hiatus playing Dragon Quest. Seriously he should learn a thing or two from Mashima, like dedication to work and some great drawing techniques.

He should try because I noticed a lot of times when he can draw 3 chipters in one time like July Special that each week we had 3 chapters , sometimes having 37 page , And other Mangaka are barely making the deadline LOL
I hope that it could be Romance + Comedy + Supernatural of course *_*

Of course he draw fast the chapters ,he doesn't need to consider the plot (another ower up here, beat this one in a second, boobs, boobs ,boobs, another lame character). All his problem is from where is good angle to see the boobs and the asses.
That's what we need ,another shitty work.

RomCom would be nice.
Hope that Fairy Tail's quality won't be affected with his decision.

I really hope it's a romance manga, seeing as all he does is tease at OTPs in Fairy Tail.

Wow! Not a fan of Fairy Tail but this man deserves my respect. What disappoints me is if he could draw that fast, why didn't he think more deeply about the story?

About his new manga, I bet his next main character is Fuyu.

Really hope it's not an action series.

He really doesn't have that much talent in making a an intense conclusion to his plot. He starts an arc epically then goes down hill all the way. Also the action with the nakama power..........But his art and girls character design is on a heavenly level. And his shipping tease is pretty awesome.

I NEED AN ECCHI ROMANCE SERIES FROM HIM!! That would definitely be an even bigger hit than FT ^^

Well props to his mad speed though. The dude's a MONSTER! Respect!! :D

O.o Real life Bakuman.

Props to him, wonder what is the new series going to be like. If anything, I'd rather expect Kubo to start something new, Bleach doesn't look like the most time consuming manga, honestly...

Looking forward to this as he is my second favourite mangaka. I expect it to be monthly like Monster Hunter Orage was which he also did while working on Fairy Tail and that didn't affect Fairy Tails high quality. Hope it's in a seinen magazine though as he's pretty much reached the limit of what he can do in a shonen magazine.

He's done this a few times before, making a monthly series at the same time as a weekly series. Both Monster Soul and Monster Hunter Orage were done simultaneously with fairy tail, but they were all short (about 10-14 chapters.). I don't imagine this being any different.

But again, this is mashima.

One of the reason I didn't like the Fairy Tail manga was the amount of macho teenagers in it. Of course, it's a shonen series, but that doesn't mean every character (even older ones!) have to be muscular. Not everyone in real life are that fit. I just hope the new series is different.
