Dat statue of science at the top. I guess it's a primary symbol for this manga now and a fitting conclusion. Surprisingly, I enjoyed this more than I had thought. 7/10.

Short and sweet. It looks more than just magic.

To be honest I originally saw the series and after reading the synopsis I didn't really want to read it that much. So I choose a random chapter towards the end to see how the main character ended up (essentially attempting to spoil myself) but it turned out to be each chapter was a short story.

I find it funny how the synopsis I read about the series was:

"A society where people have forgotten about ethical taboos and enjoy a life with clones, robots, body rental and drugs."

giving the impression of a society very different from our own yet the actual series was like taking our society and putting what if's into it. It had some very emotion scenes in it that considered these taboos and offered an interesting point of view on them. I like how the last chapter ended on a rather positive note that advocates being of use to society in order to help bring about the everyday happiness that societies citizens enjoy. Overall the series seems somewhat under rated for what it gives.

From the synopsis, I was expecting something darker and scarier from the manga. While that turn out wrong, I'm glad I read this.

This was a refreshingly optimistic take on futuristic sic-fi. 8/10

disappointing, I don't mind open-ended stories but some of the stories ended so abruptly that it was odd. Like a page or two were missed while uploading. just average

My thoughts exactly. It was somewhat upbeat, but not without showing the limitations of science. I think the last chapter summed up the skies beautifully.
"Perhaps there is a universal, absolute truth. Perhaps it justifies every question. But that's beyond the reach of these small hands." Mamoru Oshii

There is a cult of ignorance (...) nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that “my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.” Isaac Asimov

I really did like the stories. Each of them had a different theme more or less, although all of them pretty much were connected at how powerless a person can be, but it didn't have endings in some of them, which was really disappointing. Some really just stop as things look a bit up and you are left hanging on what happens next. I guess the message is that the effort counts more than the result, but it just did not feel complete.

However, I really enjoyed it (and I would have enjoyed it a more if they spent a couple more pages or even work out the panels better to show us if their life is really taking a turn for the better or not). The stories are touching and everyone should be able to enjoy this on some level.

Is gooooooood! It's too bad the stories are all oneshots and there's no link. Otherwise, I would score it higher than a 7/10

Fantastic. This chapter is either an 8 or 9.

Overall I thought this was great. A great example of how optimism isn't a synonym for immaturity. Unlike Black Mirror, no ideology was shoved in the readers' face. The mangaka let you decide. There was nuance.

I'm giving this manga an 8/10.
