| Seems legit to me. He needs to have a power up somehow, I mean this is a typical shounen after all. A typical shounen done right. What I liked is how gear 3 was a really reckless power up that had a large strain on his body. It was so bad Usopp was discussing it after Thriller Bark. |

| Who cares, One Piece never was about power levels. If Oda wanted to he could have had Luffy beat Lucci without any power ups and it would have been fine. Truth be told ashura and diable jamble were just finishers, both Zoro and Sanji had a normal fight without those power ups, the same kind of fights they had with Mr 1 and Mr 2 so those power ups weren't even needed. It's not like they were losing and had to pull something out of their ass to win. They could have won without them. |
