Well, topic title about says it all. I'm looking for anime that take place in the countryside (not city). I want natural, and beautiful scenery. I would prefer it with in a fantasy world, but that's not a requirement. The slice of life should be relaxing.

Examples:
Natsume Yuujinchou
Seirei no Moribito
Ookami Kodomo no Ame to Yuki
Mushishi
Kemono no Souja Erin

Thxs.

"If you tremble with indignation at every injustice, then you are a comrade of mine"

When the union's inspiration through the workers' blood shall run
There can be no power greater anywhere beneath the sun
Yet what force on earth is weaker than the feeble strength of one
For the Union makes us strong

The question is why hasn't a Horo fangirl like yourself watched the 2nd season? Or did you just forget to update?

Perhaps try Kino's Journey? Though it's mainly about the cities Kino and Hermes visit, quite a bit of it takes place during their travels between countries.
Somewhere, there is an unplugged toaster sitting on a Coleman stove.

Does it feel lonely?

Binchou-tan - rural settings, fantasy and moe-anthropomorphism

Kamichu! - small town settings, also has lots of fantasy elements

Onegai Twins & Onegai Teacher - same small town settings, fantasy, but I think this is a drama genre.

It's not exactly relaxing, but Rurouni Kenshin Tsuiokuhen has some really beautiful, scenic scenes of the countryside (given that it's pre-modern day Japan).

Summer Wars
2010 Young Animator Training Project's Ojii-san no Lamp
Pom Poko
5 cm Per Second
maybe Tamayura

Will try:
Only Yesterday
Kino no Tabi
Byousoku 5 Centimeter
Kamichu!
Summer Wars
Ojii-san no Lamp (I believe I couldn't find this one)
Tamayura

I'm a little hesitant for Hanasaku Iroha because I watched the first episode before and wasn't too attracted to it. But I'll give it another shot. :)

Thanks for all the suggestions!

If you like "healing" SOLs, you might enjoy Tamayura, Tamayura Hitotose/ More Agressive. Great series, kinda moe characters...is set in countryside Japan. ;)

Sorry, this might be a long time ago post for you...

Barakamon is more of an island but it isn't citylike at all so that should do.
Also, Nagi no Asukara might work.
