| This was just a setup episode but it was good. The most interesting part imo was the ED showing all the characters introduced in order, with Gin's master at the end. Will we finally see their past?? |

| Kondo, uninvited as usual, bragging and calling himself "hostalker" Madao's outfit didn't stay for too long and... really? A Tanabata wish as a tie? ...why? Gintoki almost did everything right (somehow) and then... he makes use of Kondo in the worst way ever conceivable, last thing missing was him being hancuffed by his own coworkers as it happened to all the others. Not surprised Sogo was already really good in his own new role It didn't seem to be an extremely funny episode at the beginning but it soon improves and it's easy to think how much madness is going to show up in the second half, but the favorite moments were those seconds of black haired Gintoki looking very similar to Hiji and then returning to his, well... 3D live action counterpart, and Hiji insulting his own mangaka's drawing skills or everyone bringing up again the popularity polls arc, and that direct reference to Shinpachi's seiyuu. Nice new opening, even better ending, next time i will pause every other second to rewatch every character in the background even if i already recognized most of them even if they appeared just once a lot of time before. Finally, i noticed the odd coincidence of having a lot of the main characters in suits in a episode that had no more the ending song that presented them dressed exactly like that. |

| I really want to see Okita and especially Hijikata as hosts. I'm sad that they didn't bring Katsura. I didn't expect the new opening but I love it, seems like Gintoki's serious face from the last opening was not canon which made me a bit disappointed. But in terms of music, I love this one more. |
