I don't know if this counts but here it is: Max Montana from Hellsing Ultimate: "oh! you are telling me about insanity,Vatican's Iscariot? you believe your god guarantees our insanity but who do you think guarantees the sanity of your god" Episode 4, 12:57 |

Roronoa Zoro from one piece stated several times that the only being he ever believed in is himself! I couldn't find any exact episode because of the large number of episode one piece got! |

Edward Elric is an atheist and shows intolerance toward religion during most of his youth. He has said that alchemists are "about as close to God as you can get." I guess it was in Fullmetal Alchemist manga vol.1! |

Edward Elric - added Roronoa Zoro - negative Max Montana - we should think about him Hard to say, it's some anty-religious statement :P What others think? |

It sounds anti-catholic for sure. I haven't watched Hellsing, so I can't say how it exactly sound in Anime. Anyone else have an opinion? |

Montana certainly doesn't seem believe in anything other than war. Alucard should also be counted as one I'd say. Although he was a a fierce crusader for Catholicism as a mortal, the flashback in chapter 70 clearly shows that he's lost whatever faith he had. Not surprisingly, considering all that happened to him. ![]() Firar ein mann seg sjølv ned i reip, og får bane, då er han sjølv banemannen sin. |

Edmond Dantes from Gankutsuou when he was jailed this conversation took place: Edmond: God won't forgive you if you slash me! The Slayer: Alright then, I'll slash you till your god shows up and tell me to stop. and after he escaped the jail he said to one of his men Giovanni Bertuccio that he lost his faith. the anime events are after Edmond escaped the jail and they haven't mentioned god or believing but the event with the slayer was in the novel. |

Revy from Black Lagoon some stuff she said in episode 5 of the first season: "God?Love? don't make me laugh" "Power is more useful than money and god" "What a powerless Chinese bitch rely on if there's no god? It's money and guns, with them this world is a great place" |

Revy added. I don't know what about Edmond. It seems that he was believing. He lost his faith, but does it mean that he isn't believing anymore or just he lost faith of god's kindness/power/whatever? |

I found this novel review about Edmon that might help: A naive but faithful man gets the Job treatment, losing his freedom, possessions, family, and love. Somehow, he becomes bitter over this, and loses his faith in God. Naturally, he is consumed by thoughts of revenge. Unable to take joy in anything, even his bloody deeds |

Hei "Lee Shengshun" from "Darker than Black" should be added to the list. Check out episode 11 at 4;57 : He clearly answers the question "Do you believe in god?" with a "No" during a lie detector test. Modified by Azamat, 03-21-09, 2:31 AM ![]() "Sanity is overrated." |
