Setsuna F. Seiei (刹那・F・セイエイ) Age: 16/21(second season)Height: 175cm Birthdate: Apr. 7, 2291 Birthplace: Kurdish Republic Other Designations: Soran (original name, used by his mother), Kamal Majirif (self-reference in Episode 8), Soran Ibrahim (real name, used by Johann in ep19) Unit: GN-001 Gundam 00 Having been discovered by Celestial Being at the age of 14 for having special potential as a pilot, he is currently a Gundam Meister for their organization. He can be described as taciturn and comes off as a knowledgeable young man. Resides in Japan when not on Celestial Being duties. Setsuna's real name is Soran Ibrahim; Setsuna is his Gundam Meister codename. Six years prior to being recruited into Celestial Being, he was a child soldier in the war-torn Kurdish Republic. He murdered his own parents under Ali Al-Serges's influence in order to prove his devotion to God, and hence born a deep hatred towards Ali. Setsuna believes that war can only be stopped through direct confrontation, and therefore has little tolerance for diplomats and politicians, believing that their "peace talks" only lengthen the conflict and cause more casualties. Despite his reclusive personality and common loyalty to the rest of the organization, he is more open to those outside of Celestial Being, partly due to his temper and arrogance. Tieria Erde has expressed disapproval over this, believing that his brash actions will breach the code of secrecy amongst the members of Celestial Being. Setsuna's identity is known by Marina Ismail, princess of Azadistan, because of a chance encounter and Setsuna's brash attitude. Because of his personal history and his relationship to Marina, Setsuna keeps a tight watch on Marina's rule of Azadistan, even making personal visits to the royal palace to speak to her. Although the circumstances of their "friendship" are quite chaotic and unlikely, they seem to maintain some respect for each other, as Marina has never told anybody of Setsuna's secret, even with her dislike of the Gundams.
