I hate streaming (low quality, internet connection reliability), sometimes buy anime (for example Miyazaki films) and usually download (good quality, watch at any given time). If the dvds would be released in Europe for a decent price, I would buy them. Unfortunately, it is either unavailable or the price is too damn high. |

I voted a little of everything. I only buy stuff on sale, because I hate to purchase something & see it for half price somewhere else. The older stuff I usually buy used. People don't know what they have & sell very gently used stuff for cheap, especially compared to ridiculous prices on brand new copies of oldschool stuff. I usually don't mind the quality if streaming (I have a good comp & connection though). I don't like hunting & waiting for downloads, or the fact that it takes up space even if you delete the files. So, most of all I stream really. but, that's because I like preview everything before I buy it if it's at all possible. I at least want to preview the 1st movie or ep in a series. I also love buying stuff blindly too. If something is cheap enough & piques my interest in the slightest I'll buy it. I've gotten a hold of some good stuff this way. For example: Blade of the Phantom Master. Not the best thing around, but worth the 6 or 7 $ I paid for it. I also use an online US company (Rightstuf) that lets you add "blind bargains" to cart as toppers. I always have to add a $5 & $1 one every time. Can't help my curiosity! I have gotten a Gurren Lagann bag, Naruto hat (gave it away though lol), Code Geass soundtrack & other stuff like good dvds (always vol 1) for $1. Anyway I rarely download regular shows, but I do download other stuff like rare shows & openings etc. |

I stream, i just find it a lot faster than downloading and even though the quality is worse, i really don't feel like buying an anime if i can get it for free in a somewhat crappier quality. |

For me 99% of the time is "Aarrrgggg!! full blown pirate..." I prefer to download instead of streaming because the quality is much better and usually there's no censorship. And I will always have something to watch even if I have problems with my internet connection. As for buying, it's like Bugsquasher said. Most of them are either unavailable or the price is outrageous. If I buy from online shops, shipping seems to take forever(at least 3-4 weeks). If I buy from another country the shipping and taxes are more expensive then the anime itself. Plus most of them are only in English. I don't mind it too much, but in the end it seems that I pay a lot of money only for better English subs. |

Sad to say, we don't have a proper anime retailer in the country. I download everything and archive them. I hate streaming because i'm not the only one using the internet so i use a bittorrent client to download and limit my download speed to not trouble my relatives who are using the internet. AH I'M SUCH A KIND-HEARTED PIRATE. Modified by cafekun, 09-09-11, 7:35 PM |

I do a little of everything depending on what it is. Horror is really just about the only thing I buy though b/c I love horror movies. Everything else I download or stream. |

I hear about the income. I would support the market much more, and I will when I can. c= |

JaganshiHiei1987 said: ^ that there is a good description of me :)For me 99% of the time is "Aarrrgggg!! full blown pirate..." There's no place for me to buy anime locally - the only one title I remember that was possible to get was Mizayaki's Spirited Away (a couple of other of Mizayaki's works made it into the market at the time too, but mostly pirated). Any other anime I found was on pirated VHS/DVD anyway, and for very high prices at that, so I download&archieve/stream it myself. this lack of accessibility spreads to books, other movies and clothes, so I spend a lot of time shopping when on trips to other countries As for download vs stream, I usually download movies - because they're usually big files and my net can be very quirky at times. As for series, it really depends - sometimes I stream, sometimes download - it's really up to chance and the mood I'm in :). Tho if it's something long (150+ episodes or something) or ongoing I almost always stream to save space on my computer >_< Tho I can also download a series after I've watched it online if I really liked it and know I'll watch it again. Anyways, even if I download, I usually look for the smaller files, so the quality I download is usually little better than streaming, so I might as well stream everything ^^ Modified by RulenneClarissa, 01-29-12, 11:31 PM |

We don't have a proper retailer in my country and even if we did the prices would have been outrageous; there are exactly 5 anime movies and 1 series in a video store. So I download. |

The streaming situation was hurt for a bit... but I'm still watching most of my that way. I got a lot of good stuff downloaded though while things were being sorted out. Now I guess I prefer a 50/50 streaming to download ratio. It's easier to just download the older series I want to see. |

most of the time i DL anime. but sometimes if i want to sample a 1st ep and its on subbinz.com il stream it there, that is literally the only site that doesnt give u shit 240p like other sites do. its not 720p either, but its a pretty solid 480 which i personally think is rly impressive for a stream. its too bad the site owner is having trouble keeping up with the MU problems and is shutting the site down :'( with that site being down itl be absolutely impossible for me to stream at all |
