I would really love it if it was completed before I find it :P
But I get over exicted about new mangas or random mangas that seem interest, so I read them ahead, which sucks cuz than I have to wait for more to come out >.< it gets hard to keep track of the mangas that are on going, and I have to check time to time if new chapters came out. I would prefer Complete Mangas but sometimes I can't help myself. TT.TT

same here, it always a pleasent surprise to find an awesome series thats both complete and in adleast the triple digits or high double digits. i consider it a small pain when i start reading a series thats new like wolfen crest or cage of eden started reading those when they were under 10 chapters still following them though because you get invested in the series if chapters come out weekly then hits a suddden break i start rereading, anticapating when the next chapter comes out on the update list.

Same here...I like on-going more than complete, even if sometimes is pain and boring to wait for a monthly chapter to come out!!! but still I like them more, it's so fun to read something new every week or month!!! :D

On-going since it's not too bad waiting a week depending on the manga.

I guess the series that release monthly or on weird intervals are a pain to read unless there completed. It's easy to forget what happened last chapter after a month or more....so you kind of forget what's going on.....

I prefer waiting, I hate it when the manga becomes so good that I want to know the ending but it just isn't completed yet. The suspence is killing me!

I prefer to read ongoing manga personally. One of my biggest pet peeves is having something I'm reading spoiled and there's virtually no chance of that happening if the chapter just came out.

I prefer reading complete series, because if they're currently being scanlated I always fear that the scan group will drop the project, leaving me heartbroken XD However, there are manga that I can't not read (like... I can't resist or something XD). So I read bot on going and completed manga series.

I don't mind both.

Completed manga is easier for me to read and good to fill my free time since you got the full story in one go. But after that, bye-bye.

On-going manga tends to make me happier since the manga will last longer in my mind (due to the wait), but it kinda annoys me to wait for a bimonthly manga especially the ones I really love (one month is still tolerable. two months is torture). But once I got the tankoubon in my hand (or read online), that's the best feeling I got that day. :)

One of the first things I check before I start to read is if it's finished or not, I may check ongoing manga but I seldom care to put these on the list.

Finished, of course. I hate to wait, and don't want surprises like a 30-volumes manga.

Well I like both for different reasons, I mean with completed manga I can read at my own pace and with ongoing I have to wait. It depends on the manga really if it is something exciting it is quite cool to have the wait between chapters and have the time to speculate, but for everything else I would rather just read it at my own pace.

I don't see a difference. Every on-going manga ends up completed and every completed manga was at some point on-going. So I see no reason to deprive myself the enjoyment of reading current manga by waiting until who knows when for them to be completed.

Well with on-going manga you eventually get something new, while completed manga are well... over.
So I prefer on-going manga. Not that it makes a difference when I choose one anyway, I usually only find out if its on-going or completed when I get to the last released chapter.

I read completed manga while i wait or the ongoing ones to finish. Sometimes w/completed manga I would forget where I stoped and have to start over again and remember oh yeah I read that.

complete manga please~ I hate cliffhangers ): that's the main reason why I stopped reading all of the ongoing series I used to follow a few years ago ^^" I'm still a huge fan of those but waiting a whole month for the next chapter is simply masochistic Dx

I prefer, when manga is copleted. Especially when it is interesting, because I do not like to wait for the next chapters.Despite this, I read on-going manga, but waiting for the next chapter is killing me.

I just don't like cliffhangers that much xD
There're also lots of completed series that are pretty much good so.. Why read the cliffhanging ongoing series ? XD

Definitely completed. I have quite a few ongoing manga on my list, but I'm nowhere near caught up on them because I either forget, lose interest, or give up. The only manga that I was actually able to follow when it was still ongoing was Tsubasa, and a lot of the time I would still forget when a new chapter came out and get behind a few chapters.

I guess I'm just bad at commitment.

You still get cliffhangers when the manga is completed. It doesn't matter if the manga is ongoing or completed, if a chapter ends in a cliffhanger then that's a cliffhanger that won't be resolved until the next chapter. The only difference is you might have to wait a week if the cliffhanger happens in the most recent chapter of a manga while for a completed series you just have to wait until you open the next volume.

It depends on the series. If I'm already into the first two or three books, then I would keep reading it whether it's ongoing or not. Ongoing is a plus because there's more excitement in not knowing what comes next and reacting at the same time as other fans and talking about it. But then if it's already complete, you can find out if the ending was horrible and then decide whether or not to proceed. Completed is also nice because you can sometimes buy a set.

Both, but it depends on how patient I'm feeling. These days I'm very busy with uni stuff, so when I read manga I prefer reading stuff that is complete so it doesn't seem like forever til the end. When I'm not busy, I tend to like on-going ones, not knowing when they will end doesn't seem to bother me.

What I do with on going Manga is - for weekly, I wait about a month or two so I can read about 10 - 20 chapters in one go, so I'm still upto date just not reading one chapter at a time.
Then the same with monthly but I wait about 3 - 5 months :)
You still have to wait of course, but this way you get to read a number of chapters instead of just one :3

I really enjoy on-going Manga!Weekly though!Like OP,Eden on ori,Reborn,Gantz etc There are good Monthly that i read like DW or Claymore but still one month is too much to wait!BUT the Hiatus are the worst!!!What is going on with Liar Game and Berserk is ridiculous, and they are both in my top list*sigh*

If something is really good i can't wait for it to finish and then read it!No way!On the other hand i'm really happy(and lucky) that i start reading Deathnote,20th century and FMA after they finished!Just imagine, that i had to wait for the next chapter, makes me crazy

I don't like on-going manga, waiting for the end of the story is too annoying, and when a new chapter come, i've forget some stuff i've ever readed, so i prefer to wait most of the time, at least to have a decent number of chapter to read at once.

In the beginning, I didn't really checked it manga is finished or not. But now I look at the reading list and see... I see 3-5 chapters I need to wait impaicanyly for. The worst thing is that except one which is published once a week (Nonlesse), I need to wait another month (at least) to the next chapter. (Though the writer of Skip Beat is sometimes nice and gives a chaptr after two weeks, the chapter afther can come a month or even 2 month later). You really think I rmemember what I read last month? I don't, I have an awful memory. So in the, I don't understand too much (Vampire Knight) or just count the days to the next chapter (Skip Beat and Kuroshitsuji).

To conclude it all, I don't intend to even 1 more ongoing manga to my list.

I usually enjoy completed stuff more because its less confusing and at a certain point i just stop caring.

Like for gantz i have no idea what is going on anymore and i just dont really care about the lower half of my watching list.

But i am impatient so i read ongoing stuff anyways

Completed manga anyday. I hate going back into the manga a month later just to vaguely remember the characters or the plot. At this point, I've read almost as much ongoing manga as completed.

Then again, there are some ongoing manga I wish would never end. If One Piece ended, my life would be over xD

On-Going manga... Because it's depressing when I know something that got me really hooked up already have it end decided... and even if what I read are crap if it's already completed, I felt somewhat obliged to read it to it's end.

It depends, for example: Claymore. Suprisingly, it's still on-going and when the manga leaves me wanting for more, of course I'm going to see every single chapter that comes out!

But if it's a manga like GDDG: Dogs, I'd rather put it on-hold until it finishes so I could read it better without having to wait for any volume and chapter to come out.
