| Did not see that coming. Did not expect that. Absolutely loved it. I am really happy how this is turning out…and I guess I have to rethink my prejudices against maho shojo series…and shaft. This show just catapulted itself to the second spot of my favorite animes this season… |
| It was heartwarming right before she died, and that truly made this much more emotional. I was actually disgusted at how she was dangling by her head but this is such a dark show. It may hide under the guise of mahou shoujo, but the witch's realms are pretty evil and the atmosphere is rarely cheery. |
| Poor Mami. ;_; I will miss her. However, right now I'm more interested in Homura's past. During her conversation with Mami, Mami said: That's to be expected from bulied child. So far this anime is my favorite of the season. If it countinues like this, it might become my favorite of the year. Also, it does remind me of the "Faust". So, that's another big plus. :) |

| It seems we have two types of people here. The first being the ones who just want Mami revived, and the second group saying that that would be terrible to the storyline if it was just that easy. I really understand the second group's thought process, but I really would be sad if she just off and disappeared fro the series so easily. Even if she came back as a witch, I still think she'll end up back as a mahou shoujo again sooner or later. I don't know, it just bothers me a lot that she might have just died like that when there was so much emphasis on her in general. If this were the case though, Madoka and Sayaka are gonna really gonna hesitate to become majou shoujo. That's a lot of trauma right there. As for this whole Kyubey thing, I guess I see where everyone is coming from with him being "evil." I just don't see it though. It's possible he may be using them, but I don't know about evil. As for his rush to make them mahou shoujo, they would have died if Homura didn't show up unless they became mahou shoujo. |

The first is aptly fulfilled (they spent two episodes making a big deal out of the wish, after all!), and the second just seems like it would. |

| I actually offhandedly wished that Mami would die before and now I feel bad. ;_; This is spectacular. Did not expect this at all. I cannot believe there was a time when I had no interest in watching this show. also oh God, that bit at the end when they were both crying and Kyubei was just sitting there with his :3 face. |

I mean cmon this witch looked pretty puny.. no way she could've died by that lol.. I dunno, maybe she did but it definitely doesn't feel like it. well, it was still a good episode nonetheless. was expecting madoka to turn into a mahou shoujo though but i guess we'll have to wait for that. |
| Wow, I can't believe that just happened to Mami. I mean, where the usual deus ex machina to bail the main characters out? Doesn't this show have a tag line called "Magica Quartet" or something...kind of strange if one of those four is only alive for one episode. There is always the possibility that they can just wish for her back, although I think that would be completely unrealistic; but if they did, she wouldn't be the same. In any case, this series is great, and popular too if 175+ responses within less than 24 hours of an episode is any indication. I like that they are taking risks like this and keeping the story very original, this will most likely be the best anime series of the season (although I still think Fractale has a chance to be pretty special as well). Also, why doesn't Homura transform or anything to fight the witch; or was that blue glowing thing not her power but her transformation? I'm looking at the promotional wallpaper for the series and she is in regular clothes too while everyone else is transformed. Maybe she is so powerful that she doesn't even need to transform? |

If you go back in the scene to about 15:13 (in gg's release) the same jar is near the top, in the middle of the screen as the girls are walking. It seems to be a plant of some type. |

| Wow, pretty epic. Though I believe she will live again if I see what the name of the next episode is, she is to early to be death. It's obvious that Madoka is going to wish going back in to time, or just let here live and become a Magical Shoujo. Mami was her dream, so that is her wish! |

She did transform. You can see her transforming back at 21:25 or so. Her battle clothes just look much like her regular school uniform. |

| It was a nice twist that Mami died, but I fear Madoka's wish will be to revive her. I think it'd be better if she stayed dead, it'd be more interesting that way. |

I second that, I think Mami is Faust, Kyubey is the devil (c'mon look at that :3 face... ) and madoka is the innocent Gretchen that got seduced by Faust (Mami). And later Madoka becomes Faust (cuz Mami died) and seduces Homura (the new Gretchen), and at the end Homura might save Madoka from the devil and guide her to heaven. This is my imagination if urobuchi gen really used the faust legend as the back story O_O |

Remember Marie Antoinette of France that was beheaded in a guillotine. She said: let them eat cake. | It's been a while since I've thought the week was far too long. All other series this winter may be disappointing so far, but this one more than makes up for them. This is 24 minutes of epic win every Thursday. Even though Mami died, her battle sequences this episode were breathtakingly amazing. Another 10/10. |

| OMMotherF******G!!!!!!! WTF!!!!!!! RRRRRRAAAAAAGGGGGGEEEEE!!!!! Mami was the best F******* character! Madoka better F****** wish her back! Amazing F****** Episode, best battle yet, by far! Mami with those Boomsticks is some of the best animation I've ever seen. This anime gets better with every episode, one of the highest quality shows I've seen. I can't wait to see what Madoka and Sayaka's abilities are, especially after Kyubey told her she would be better than Mami. Definitely anime of the year material! Urahara Out!! |
