hinatachan is an automatic sig making program that utilizes perl. my brother protoman96 wrote the backend part of it, and i did the styling part of it.

it's pretty self-explanatory: you just put in the boxes what you want and the output is shown in the top right-hand corner.

if you sign up for the awesome taigaforum.com, you can get the taigaforum.com tag removed from the signature.

please post here if something is confusing or doesn't appear to be working.

also, if there's a font you'd like to use, link me up and it can be added. (except comic sans. we don't support the use of comic sans.)

enjoy!

pretty sure what the problem is is that you're trying to paste your sig image into the box for editing a previous hinatachan sig. you upload your original background image in the box below that.

not how i would have done it, but another sig generator doesn't hurt.

as for the angle positioning, it's caused because you are not calculating the offset properly. If whatever perl library you're using for the bounding box and text behaves like GD's imagettfbbox in php, then you can do it the same way I did so that it always aligns the text baseline to a point:

It's kind of confusing that I call them $w and $h, since they are not technically the width nor height. It should work well though as long as your offset calculations are like this...
$xoffset = $lowerrightcornerx - $lowerleftcornerx;
$yoffset = $lowerrightcornery - $lowerlefttcornery;

Here's the test script I used and its output, just convert to the perl equivalent:

@ saka - actually, the underlying api expected radians rather than degrees. so the angle problem is now fixed. :)

I thought it was the position not the angle that was off, but yeah that would certainly cause a big discrepancy lol.

The background for pretty much every sig here came from a larger source image. You will not find a website that has them "small enough for it". That said, http://danbooru.donmai.us and http://konachan.com are likely where you'll find "great quality pictures".

However, if you can't even figure out how to crop and resize an image then you are unfortunately shit out of luck.

i fixed transparent background of the background image but unfortunately it broke existing sigs which are now 10 pixels shorter from the bottom than they were before. you can solve this by uploading a new background image which is the full 140 pixels tall. the difference is that the "sig by hinata" bar goes over the image now instead of being tacked on below it. sorry for any inconvenience this may cause but i think it's worth it.

I think if you re-upload your bg image it will make it not cut off (since protoman changed some stuff).

Other than that if you just move the overlapping text it is really a lovely sig :>

It's so much fun to do this and it's so easy, too.

But still... I'm not satisfied with mine...

But ever after I'll have made all the changes to my sig, I'll hate my avatar, cuz it's really f-ing ugly. XD

gotta get more popular.

Though I change sigs like every second (like I already edited my sig to change the little **/** position because it was too close to the updates). Honestly some of these Hinatachan sigs are v beautiful <3

But popularity contests are always cool and are necessary for my ever growing e-penis. I must rehost my sig on hinatachan...sometime. Too lazy right now.

not like you even need to learn php... just modify a few lines and use an ftp server (login and drag files from one side to the other).... ~_~

this is a good service though. hope you will continue to improve it.
