| Volume 5, Chapter 3: This chapter really rubbed me the wrong way. I was excited to see Rudeus and Paul reunite, but it was derailed by a degree of miscommunication that can only happen in a light novel. The entire fight could have been avoided with just a few sentences that any reasonable person would have made. What's even worse is that Paul knows from his own experience that no one knows how bad the incident was until they get back home or learn about what happened to their home. Paul surely would have encountered multiple people who did now know how bad everything was until they were rescued. |
