| Three episodes in and i'm still not quite sure how I feel about this anime. In terms of style it's pretty great, the opening was what sold me on it, and the vehicle designs look good. But so far the cast of fairly minor female supporting characters like Remi (who had a bit of a spotlight put on her this episode) feel far more interesting than the two MCs, who remain very cookie cutter in spite of the whole gimmick where they are trying to work off their prison sentences. And while the action scenes generally look fairly decent in terms of art and animation, some of the characters' faces are just off-putting, particularly Mu's. I like to think of myself as a fairly dyed in the wool fan of vintage anime, who actually enjoys a lot of the things many people may find dated. I've watched a whole bunch of 70s super robot stuff, and I didn't start watching those until 2020. But I'm not entirely sure I'll be able to finish this series |
